I got more than just one. 1. Magic Johnson- He's the one who started it all. 2. John Stockton- He's had 10 seasons where he's had more than 10 assist 3. Steve Nash/Jason Kidd- Both still great passers and going stronger each year 4. Mark Jackson-Very underrated player and passer 5. Jason Williams-J-Dub will never be known as a great player but he's always been a very good and exciting player. And had some of the sickest assist I have ever seen Honorable Mentioning to Pete Maravich he never was an assist man but like J-Dub had some sick passes

I don't see any reason why Deron would want to leave its not like the Jazz suck. They pretty much filled in every hole that was left during the off-season. Al Jefferson replaced Carlos Boozer and can play both PF and C, Gordan Hayward replaced Kyle Korver and is an upgrade over Korver IMO, and they get Raja Bell. Their not a team that I see competing for the championship this year but their definitely not bad.

Steve Francis: Overrated or Underrated
htownborn replied to htownborn's topic in General NBA Discussion
If you were refering to me about Francis and Yao having more success than Yao and T-Mac then you completely misunderstand what I was saying. I was saying I would have loved to see Francis and Yao grow and play longer together and see what they could have accomplished. I'm not blamming T-Mac for the Rockets not getting any further than the 1st round with him and Yao. Injury's played a big part in both of their games together. -
It should be PG Darren Collison-Obviously SG Paul George- Played SG in college SF Danny Granger- Keep him at his primary position for now PF Tyler Hansbrough- The should try him out before experimenting with Granger at PF C Roy Hibbert-Obviously

Steve Francis or Stevie Franchise was known for his killer crossovers and high-light real dunks. Some would almost forget that Francis was at one time considered a top 5 Point Gaurd in the league before he was traded to the Magic. And because of his downfall in Orlando alot of people would consider Francise overrated. As a Rocket fan I loved having Francis as a Rocket he was entertaining and a very solid player but at the same time I can get why some would consider him overrated but I feel he was sort of underrated in a way. Overall I look at Steve Francis's carrer I look at him as a Derrick Rose with the wrong mind-set, very good player and had alot of potential to be one of the best PG's today but had sort of a selfish attitude which really messed his carrer up. I would have really liked to see Francis and Yao grow together more and see if they could have been a good duo over the years and maybe make a run to the Finals. So I would say he's fine where he is, even though Francis only been to the playoffs once he did put up good numbers early in his carrer as Rocket, but the trade to Orlando and his attitude did really mess up his carrer. So what does everyone think was Francis overrated, underrated, fine as is?

Billups Might Be A Trade Chip As Well
htownborn replied to La Bomba's topic in Denver Nuggets Team Forum
I think the best team for Billups to go would be Memphis. The team is already young and good all they needs is a Leader, Veteren, and true PG and they can get all of that in Billups. I say trade Mike Conley, Xavier Henry (who the Memphis is already thinking about trading), and Hasheem Thabeet for Billups. -
I would love this trade if it were to happen, however I don't think the deal will go down that way. The Nuggets have already said their looking for young players and picks. The Rockets still can get Melo being that they have the Knicks picks and young talented players like Budinger, Hill, Patterson, Lowry, and Taylor, a vet in Kevin Martin and expiring contracts in Shane Battier and Jared Jeffries. But I think asking for Melo and Smith for just Martin, Battier, and Jeffreis would be a little too much, unless the Nuggets are looking at the expiring contracts. And the Rockets will definitley have too throw in those picks and maybe a player like a Budinger or Hill. If we are to get both Melo and Smith I defintley think we can give the Lakers problems maybe in the long run even beat them.

Most of the time when someone says who's the greatest Gaurd and NBA player the name Michael Jordan usually pops up. Now I am a fan of Jordan I think he's the greatest but what about Magic Johnson he was what everbody wanted to be in the 80's before Michael. It's kinda hard for me to say being that I grew up watching Jordan and not Magic unless you are counting the year he played in 96. Statiscally I say Magic had Mike in all catagorys except scoring but for a 6'9" PG you really don't expect lease, kinda like the same deal with LeBron James. Jordan had that killer instinct and can kill anyone anytime he wanted and one of the greatest defensive minds in the game. So in my biased opinion I would pick Mike but thats only because I grew up actually watching him.

Rockets drawing interest for Jeffries
htownborn replied to Dash's topic in Houston Rockets Team Forum
I don't mind getting rid of Jeffries but honestly getting Eddie Curry wouldn't be much better. -
Seriously so you don't think Scarface was good? And what you fell to realize is he's not trying to be lyrical. J-Dawg will admit hiself he's not trying to be lyrical he just raps about the struggle, whats wrong with that. And I don't understand what he's voice has to do with anything either. Wayne's voice is just as annoying if not worse, to me anyway. Not saying he sucks or anything though. Not all Texas rappers rap that way. Yeah most of them do because sippen lean and ridin S.L.A.B's are like culture to our rap but that's not always the case with all Texas rappers. Take a listen to these songs below by Z-Ro. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwAk7v3QfIo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDGjb4-I8_A http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFPwUrSmRZY BTW even Lil Wayne even made a song about sippin lean

Yeah Drake is nice and all but can we stay on topic.

How do you find him wack?

LOL put ya on that J-Dawg I see. I would have posted Ride on 4's but it wouldn't allow me to do it for some reason along with a couple of other songs. Have you heard the remix to Ride 4's.

Just posting a few songs from a local Houston rapper named J-Dawg. He's no lyricist but he spits some real [expletive]. Shaq is obviously just depth for the Celtics in the frontcourt. I garuntee he'll be trading bait by mid season when Perkins return.

Have you ever been to an NBA game?
htownborn replied to Young&Reckless's topic in General NBA Discussion
I've only been to one NBA game, Rockets vs Sixers back in late 2002. It was Yao's rookie year and we still had Cat and Francise and A.I. was still the Answer then. The Rockets won the game, I can't remember if it was a blow out or not but it was exciting. -
Rockets to play Lakers in season opener?
htownborn replied to Dash's topic in Houston Rockets Team Forum
Two of my favorite teams going at it, I honestly don't know who I'm going to go for. I just hope the Lakers can get one more for Kobe and if not I hope Yao will be healthy for this year so we can try and bring the trophy back to Houston. -

Magic Johnson in todays generation?
htownborn replied to AboveLegit's topic in General NBA Discussion
This isn't even a question for me, LeBron James hands down is the Magic Johnson of today's NBA.The only difference is that LeBron is more athletic, bigger, and a more effecient scorer than Magic. Other than that he parrallel's Magic he averaged 8.6 assist a game last year and wasn't even a PG. Imagine if the SuperHeat decide to let LeBron play the point instead of Wade, Chalmers, or Arroyo he would at least average over 10 assist per game. And I agree AboveLegit, I have been saying for years that LeBron is more like Magic than Jordan. I honestly didn't see no similarity's between Jordan and LeBron other than the fact they both wore #23 and could jump out of the arena. -

It really depends on what kind of team you have. For example if you had a team like the Nets with really no superstars then you build through the draft, you could use a little of both but the draft is your main focus. You get you a couple of good draft picks and get you a couple of experienced vets that won't cost much but will produce through free agency, then see how your work progresses. But if you have a mediocre team with a superstar then thats when you go after a big free agent IMO alla Chicago Bulls Rose/Boozer.

Yeah but the early 2000 Lakers with Shaq & Kobe were way better. And honestly I would hope that they put those Laker teams on this game.
