  1. The reason why Eddy Curry doesn't live up to his potential: he enjoys his money more than basketball. To him, life is not about basketball anymore but the life from money basketball makes him. Dude is crazy spending his money, he'll be next Antoine Walker.
  2. Rose has more quickness than Francis but even with that more amount of quickness he has complete control of his body. That's where I think he is more athletic. We all can be quick but when the quickness results in loss of body control that means we have pushed that quickness beyond our limit/ capability. Rose leaps higher and further. I like Francis, but if I have the current Rose vs. the prime Francis, and pick who's more likely to dunk from FT line, I'd pick Rose... simply because he leaps higher and further.
  3. Francis is a fair comparison... strength, crossover, skillset, I agree with Nitro's assessment... but I think D-Rose is still a tad quicker and more athletic than Francis.
  4. 13 and 13 for Favors... We'll roll the red carpet for you in Denver on 15th Dec.

  6. Shelden averaged 12.3 rpg in 3 games so far.
  7. I love this win: http://www.denverpost.com/sports/ci_16481246#ixzz13uayP21Z We played: - the second game of a back-to-back - 3rd in 4 nights - we shot like crap (38%) - on the road Rockets: - had plenty of rest - home opener with fired up crowd - shot pretty good (45%) Yet we win? Wow... almost unheard of in my Nugget fandom so far. What I loved was we played with a sense of sharing the ball (despite boasting volume shooters like Melo, Harrington, Billups) and an appetite for rebounding... Shelden's rebounding really rubs on the WHOLE team. I'm starting to love this team... with or without Melo.
  8. Adrian Wojnaowski: http://a323.yahoofs.com/ymg/ept_sports_nba_experts__65/ept_sports_nba_experts-432280218-1288382573.jpg?ymtxLAEDh3mgzhOM
  9. I would start Brewer. He was a starter on the Jazz coached by Sloan. He brings it consistently. First sub in is Korver with his scoring. Thib runs screen plays for him the way Celtics did for Ray Allen. Bogans second sub, and James Johnson last... Out of the bunch, James Johnson is the most intriguing. Kid got talent but I haven't followed him closely since pre-season... if he makes significant progress can easily leap to be the starter. But guy is a forward, not guard.
  10. ^I wouldn't categorize Nene, Afflalo, Ty in that group. CB since the past season (and also on Team USA) has done many 1-on-4 3pt pull up in transition. I swear when veterans and supposed "leader" like him are supposed to be like fine wine, getting better with age, CB is getting crazier and more selfish with age.
  11. Bright spots: Shelden with 13 rebds and 8 pts. Melo got 24 and 10 rebounds. We fought back being down by 15 to lead by 5 before falling apart late. Afflalo didn't get many touches but finished with 10 pts. Coach better draw up plays to involve Ty Lawson more... if bringing the ball up past halfcourt is all you need from a backup PG, I guess I can declare for NBA Draft, drafted by David Kahn, get traded to Nuggets to back up Chauncey and bring the ball up past halfcourt and get paid millions
  12. Shelden with 12 rebounds to go with his 8 pts... wow like I said holy cow we got a steal Mr. Candace Parker is ballin
  13. I agree with the rule. The NBA is a multi-billion business and any product (yes, players are products) that represents the business inaccurately should be terminated. It's like those products that get recalled from supermarkets because they have the wrong labels. lol
  14. This guy is absolutely insane... this guy is video game... I mean I never genuinely feel b-ball video game is realistic... but this guy closes that gap between "reality" and "video game".
  15. And delegating Rose to score 25 ppg might be the worst disservice the Bulls can do to their franchise player. It will make Rose no different than Stephon Marbury or Steve Francis. What makes Rose special and a legitimate All Star is he always looks to make the right plays, whether it's scoring or assisting to a teammate. Those guys (Marbury and Francis) always looked to score. If the Bulls turns Rose into this scoring PG, it's gonna do a major step back to Rose's game.

  17. ^I remember reading somewhere that Noah and Thib were excited about Asik... they think he's going to be a very good player. A way to observe the offense of supporting cast around Rose is to ask yourself a question, "assuming Rose is having an off game, can we count on Korver, Gibson, Noah, Deng, Boozer to score possession by possession in a tight playoffs game?" If the answer is no, or you don't feel good about answering, it's time to look to improve it. My answer to that question is a resounding "no" without Boozer and still a "no" with Boozer.
  18. Superstars are in my definition guys who fit these two criteria (BOTH CRITERIA MUST BE SATISFIED FOR A PLAYER TO BE CONSIDERED A SUPERSTAR, MULTI-BILLIONAIRE STYLE): 1.) make their team contend night in and night out and be a legitimate playoffs team without whom their teams would be a surefire lottery team. ... AND... 2.) through at least one dominant contribution in the 5 available statistics: scoring, rebounding, assist, steals, blocked shots. One of these 5 statistics has to be dominant that it absolutely impacts the game... e.g. Kobe's 35 ppg, Dennis Rodman's 17 rpg, Magic's 11apg, Iverson's 3 spg, Hakeem's 4 bpg. But my definition here excludes Dennis Rodman, because if you had taken him out of the 72 win Bulls team, the Bulls would still have been at least a legitimate playoffs team.
  19. Dude, love your breakdown... can you do a Denver Nuggets breakdown and tell me the importance of Arron Afflalo and Shelden Williams to the team... and say if Melo is traded, can the Nuggets still be a playoffs team? --- I do think though it's still too early to say anything bad about the Heat. In the open court, they will rely less on teamwork... their willingness to pass, their athleticism, explosiveness, will get the job done. They will run teams to death. But against a top defensive team that slows them down to half court game? They will have to figure out how to mesh together... I said it before... facing the Celtics in their very first game may have been the best thing to happen to them. It lets them know early they will not beat the Celtics this way and have to figure out something... that first game now has put them on their problem solving path.
  20. He can carry the Bulls in the first three quarters... but to do it for 4 quarters, 82 games + playoffs, taking 31 shots like tonight? It's too much for a PG, even a scoring one. If he has to keep being the top option, taking 25+ shots a night, the wear and tear are going to show by the time playoffs roll. Rose is no 25+ ppg scorer... but in this system he might not have a choice but to be. He's better off being a 22ppg scorer + supporting cast who can score consistently, creating balanced offense. Korver can shoot, Gibson can knock down 15-20 footers, Noah is a monster on offensive boards and putbacks, Deng can score here and there... but even a collection of them is no consistent option. And in tight games like this, they're left gasping for offense even after a defensive stop. On the other end, good game by Thunder :glasses:
  21. I've said it, and will again, the Bulls are no contenders with Rose as their top scorer. He's a facilitator first and foremost who can score. He can score, but doesn't mean he's a natural scorer. Down the stretch I see Bulls' top option is Kyle Korver running off screens? Because he can shoot... and when Kyle couldn't take a shot off, resulted in a 22 footer by Gibson. This is no way to compete... I know they're missing Boozer, who is a great scorer, but I doubt he'll solve Chicago's offense. They need shooting, they need more than one Kyle Korver. They need a scoring wing who can shoot.
  22. ^You mean it's a long season for the other 29 teams with us and Afflalo around :glasses:
