2+ months :o Imagine being in the dark for 2+ months, with I believe only some lighters, matches and torches. When we sleep, and the sunlight in the morning bathes our eyes, it feels very bright for our eyes to take the light... but within minutes, we slowly adjust and begin to receive the light better. And our eyes are only in darkness for 8-10 hrs when we sleep. These men's eyes were in darkness for 2+ months... it's said they will continue to wear the sunglasses for days or maybe weeks until their eyes can slowly receive the lights.

I actually vote gambling... most drug addicts usually reach that certain turnaround point in their lives because they reach rock bottom, physically and mentally... they have no choice but to turn it around. Gambling? The real problem with gambling is you win some. That makes you keep coming back. But over long term, you're going to lose a lot of money. But you keep coming back, because you forget your losses and only remember the small and few wins you find along the way. With drugs, you're addicted physically much more so than mentally. You can easily recover if you reach that certain point "enough is enough". Drug addicts usually suffer, and that's key for anyone to reach a turnaround point in their life... because they suffer they feel the urge to stop. With gambling, you're addicted mentally for sure, and it's harder to recover. Gambling addicts usually don't suffer, because they have this "hope" and "fantasy" they're going to win big one day, or win back the money they've lost... because they don't suffer, they never feel the urge to stop. I used to smoke weed everyday and then meth back in 2002. Although I wouldn't consider myself addicted, it got pretty bad to the point I started fantasizing my housemates wanting to kill me (the amazing power of meth) How bad? It's bad I could literally hear one of my housemates take a knife from a drawer in the kitchen and yell for me. And recently I took a pretty big loss in gambling for World Cup (luckily WC is once every 4 years). So based on my experience alone, I vote gambling.

If you have done a volunteer work before, try this: I'm willing to work without pay for the duration of trial (specify though how long: one week... two weeks... or even one month if you're willing to do that, some do if it means they get their dream job)... most of the time, it rarely fails to give you at least an interview. They're able to evaluate you without costing money. If it gets you in, just treat those without pay work hours as volunteer work... The real good employers will still pay you anyway during those trials but the most important thing is they got to see your keen desire on that job... and find out you really want the job by offering working for free. They usually give it to the people who want it most.

^They DID get Derrick Favors... who I think will be better than Turner. And if they hadn't tank, the chances of landing Wall/ Turner would have got even smaller... unless they think they'd be as lucky as Bulls with D-Rose (1.7%). And if they hadn't tanked, they wouldn't win a championship in the next decade. IF Favors turns out to be a hybrid of Amare and Dwight, they're suddenly dreaming about winning it all.

If there's a dangerous effect of tanking, that is it right there... losing spirit. But for the Nets, the team overhauled the coaching team, the owner, so it should not linger. Without tanking, the Nets also wouldn't have been in Melo discussion (because they're not giving up Lopez).

^I agree with your point (travesy3)... one of those rare times. At the end of the day, you want to see your team win it all. That should be the ONLY reason why you cheer for your team. You don't cheer for your team because they win 60 regular season games and be blasted in playoffs anyway. You support them through good and bad times because you have that FAITH in your team that SOMEDAY they will win a championship... unless you're happy to see your team make the playoffs and be defeated in First or Second Round. The objective for your team is to win the championship. If your team is always in the middle of the pack, too good to land a top 3 pick, good enough to make playoffs, but still too bad to get out of First Round... there's no reason to be content with what's going on. Sometimes, people "try to be positive" and condemn tanking, but they forget the big picture. They forget why they're in this. I'm not for the spirit of tanking but to get the result sometimes you have to be willing to take a short-term hit for long-term gain. Take a step backward to take 2-3 steps forward. Take the Hawks for example. Everyone knows they're gonna be the same team, and they can't beat the Celtics/ Heat/ Magic. If there's a can't-miss difference-maker talent in the next draft, e.g. Tim Duncan back in 1997, they should consider tanking because if they do, at least they position themselves to grab that talent. Obviously, tanking is no guarantee to land top pick, but if you at least give yourself a chance to make it happen, it's better than nothing. If they don't tank, they're not gonna be in lottery, make the playoffs, and return the a similar roster for the next 3-4 years with similar result, getting ousted in the second round. On the other hand, if they strike luck (because they position themselves to receive it) then the talented rookie might be the difference maker they need to get over the hump. Would you suck for 1 year and have a chance to be special the following season or would you be "pretty good" for the next 4 years but don't win a championship anyway/ come close to it? I'd rather choose the former. The Spurs (supposedly one of the "classiest" organizations in ALL pro sports, if not the classiest) would have done the tank job all over again, it won them Tim Duncan and 4 championships.

Had the complete collection of the comic book, I think it's better in the book than in the movie/ video. I was a huge fan, crazy nuts about this... but DBZ is not the best anime out of Japan (that distinction belongs to Saint Seiya/ Knights of the Zodiac).

In a couple of seasons, it's Wesley Johnson... once he gets consistent to be a true 3 pt threat and slasher. Now? I'm leaning towards Beasley. From the pre-season I saw him, he played like he's got something to prove. Only a problem is he tends to lose focus at times... He averaged 15ppg last season and could easily increase it on a team that should rely on him for scoring. My prediction: 21ppg, 45 FG%.

Before the 2008 Draft, people were debating who should the Bulls took with the 1st pick. My selection was Rose, a big reason was I saw attitude from Beasley that could directly lead to his approach to the game, practice, on and off court stuff. I see a lot of similarities between this Cousins and that Beasley. He'll still be a good player though, just like Nene, near All Star... but NOT an All Star. Favors on the other hand will be a franchise player.
