I am not that big of a fan of Miller, he's slow, he likes to play halfcourt... but GK has man crush on him. ^Felton is up and down... when he's up, he really plays like a bona fide all star, but when he's down he sucks the soul out of your life it seems. One downside: he thinks he's Kobe in clutch time except he's not. We're keeping Faried (yay), and getting Hamilton from Portland too. Hamilton is very talented offensively but people say he's selfish. If we're getting Hamilton, all signs point to J.R./ Chandler being gone.

^Cmon did you just compare Juwan with KMart? Juwan was a nice player but he's old and washed up... KMart still has a good 1-2 years left in him. He's still explosive for dunks.

He averaged only 8.6 ppg and 6.2 rpg but he also played only 25.7 mpg (down from 34.2 mpg in 2009-10) and took only 7.5 shots per game (down from 10.7 shots per game in 2009-10). The reduced shot attempts made him more efficient 51 FG% (up from 46 FG% in 2009-10). He was as solid as ever, catching passes for explosive dunks (James and Wade would be much happier throwing passes to him instead of Joel Anthony), was still one of our best defenders. Haslem (physical but not constantly), Bosh (not physical), and James (not true PF) are all nice, but KMart would be your more athletic version of 2007-08 Boston Celtics' PJ Brown. And if lobbied hard enough, KMart may sign veteran minimum (he has said money is not a factor, but winning is). Arguably easiest prediction of "what will happen this summer in NBA" is: Kenyon Martin will sign with either of these FInals teams: Heat or Mavs.

I think it's a pretty fair statement to his critics... Most people's problem is they like to focus on other people's problems than their own. People who are wildly successful in their (or ANY) field are successful because they choose to mind their own problems (not others), and figure out how to fix them. People are caught up in daily dramas and it seems like they are more interested in celebrities/ famous people's lives and getting caught up in flash news, than their own lives. I think LeBron simply wants to say: mind your own business... which is actually for their own sake. Because as long as you mind other people's business, and not mind your own, you will never be successful.

LeBron and Wade simply take turns scoring... it reminds me of Melo and AI taking turns scoring ball in Denver. But obviously LeBron and Wade have more chemistry and are more willing to give up their turn to the each other... in Denver, it was more awkward smiles between AI and Melo. I think it could still work... aside of the Big 3, Chalmers and Haslem, their role players are way past their primes or complete stiff like Joel Anthony (although he's a pretty good defender). Give them a younger supporting cast next year, I believe they need: - a better starting PG than Chalmers, who played pretty well for his standard, but should be a backup nevertheless... they don't need a superstar PG type like Chris Paul... a pass first, defensive-minded PG would work wonders for them... they should target Kyle Lowry. (Sorry Ty Lawson is off-limits ) - a better frontcourt, who play defense but can still catch LeBron and Wade's passes and score. I have a huge feeling they WILL lobby hard for Kenyon Martin, who seems like a perfect fit (who will be considering Dallas - his hometown - as well). Imo, KMart will go to the team that lobbies him the hardest... Heat need him much more than Mavs. They should also try to target Kings' Jason Thompson, Chuck Hayes, Darrell Arthur, Ersan Ilyasova, Brandon Bass, Earl Clark. - a reliable scorer off the bench like, well... Jason Terry. If Pat Riley takes over, or if Spo stays and decides to take risks, they should take a chance on J.R. Smith. - a better defensive wing, they should target Arron Afflalo... who may be a hard catch due to lots of interests from other teams. If I had to bet on who'll be Heat's new player next season, out of all players in league, it's Kenyon Martin (KMart loves to party = South Beach). It seems perfect sense.

I'd never felt anything for Mavs until these Finals... it seemed like they had never been a threat big enough to annoy me as a different team's fan, bad ass enough to be hated, or exciting enough to be loved. But somehow their ball movement, their defense, their "team-ness" (George Karl's phrase), Kidd, Dirk, Carlisle being able to get his rooks-scrubs-complete washouts like Cardinal, Mahimi, Marion, Stevenson to perform ridiculously in the NBA's ultimate stage (that alone should have given him COY), had me sub-consciously rooting for them. Congrats, you guys deserve it.

It still blew my mind away, he is 3rd on all time 3 pt makes... ahead of notorious sharpshooters the likes of Glen Rice, Larry Bird, Mark Price, John Stockton. Definitely an accomplishment for someone who got tabbed as great player without a J. If someone would have told me 10-15 years ago Kidd would be 3rd all time, I'd say no way.

He's such a smooth, long, natural player... if he had added Kobe's insane psycho focus and work ethic, he probably would have been the GOAT. He was content to ride his talent... Kobe rides his talent and work ethic.

Joke aside, I'd just say, let's see a woman become an NBA assistant coach first before a head coach. Coach - players relationship starts from respect. Since women generally have a deferring attitude towards men, and it's the perception with anyone (including women themselves) you will have to have a woman who is: - way more senior in terms of age than the players to have a good start. - Secondly, she has to have the energy to at least keep up with the players' energy and ego... we're talking about multi-million rich athletes... trust me, when you have hundreds of millions of dollars, you will have huge ego unless you're as humble as Derrick Rose (who thanks his mom in his first MVP award ceremony at age 22?) most superstars want to be treated special. If she's too soft or too hardcore, players will tune her out. The energy is also essential to motivate players. Motivating skill should account for a good 40-50% of coaching, and Xs and Os are the rest. If a person (no matter what gender) is bright at X and Os but can't motivate their players/ bring them to perform/ focus when they need to, it all goes down the drain. She has to be addicted to basketball, has burning passion for the game for this to happen.

Dirk: 25.5ppg, 9.5rpg, 3.0apg LeBron: 22.0ppg, 8.5rpg, 4.5apg Is it safe to say Dirk is the better player in the Finals (or playoffs) so far? Especially the way he led the Mavs to Game 2 thrilling finish? Not only that, LeBron's "defense" has made Shawn Marion look like he's the old All Star Shawn Marion (18.0ppg, 9.0rpg, 3.5apg, 57.7FG%). Is there still any doubt Dirk is better than this thread's best player in the NBA?

The Heat did not get anything in the paint? Bosh was dunking and jizzing on Noah and Bulls in half court sets... to prevent Wade from getting to paint, LeBron's man had to help. I'm not saying LeBron cannot perform under pressure as a lone superstar... he can. But did he get the results? He had incredible numbers vs. Magic and Celtics in the last 2 years but lost. Again, my definition of "best player" is not the guy who produces most impressive stats... but those who will his team to wins under pressure. Perhaps all that pressure finally got to him in his final ever Cav game vs. Celtics where people, including his own loyal fans, questioned his body language. If you're a superstar in NBA like LeBron, you'd have a lot more pressure when you're all by yourself vs. when you have two great players by your side. It's not hard to imagine. Dirk's job may be to only score, but he's constantly double-teamed because he's the only offensive threat they had. If they double teamed LeBron, Wade and Bosh will be there to help, and opposing teams knowing how great LeBron passes the ball are reluctant to double. There's no way LeBron would have got a 1-on-1 vs. Brewer situation at the end if he didn't have Wade (12 pts in the quarter) and Bosh on the floor. Had he been the lone superstar, the Bulls would have forced the ball out of his hands. That's what Dirk faces. It's no contest really: both Dirk and LeBron have been impressive, but LeBron has had the much easier road. Put it this way, I'm sticking to my opinion that Dirk is the best player so far in this playoffs... and if he beats the 3 beasts, it only cements my argument as the truth. But if the Heat win, I can only say "LeBron has tremendous help in Wade and Bosh" and I'm sure many people will agree.

I'd say the Nuggets... not necessarily that I want them to, but I think it will happen. 1.) I really think Kenyon will leave to join Miami or Dallas (hometown). They're legit title contenders, Kenyon would love to go back to his hometown, play for a fun owner in Cuban, and it wouldn't hurt for Mavs to add more toughness. But if Heat win the title, and they obviously need a tough PF like him, he would definitely consider Heat. Barring any more serious injury, Kenyon has 2-3 good years left in him, and I see him willing to sign a veteran minimum to join contenders. 2.) Nene could leave. He chose to opt out, but expressed his desire to resign long term... slim chance Nuggets let him go, but there's still a possibility of sign and trade if he receives an offer from another team the Nuggets are not willing to match. I wouldn't be surprised with a Nene trade. 3.) I think Felton will be traded... he's expressed his desire to start full time, want to become All Star. As long as Ty is here, that won't happen... 4.) Wilson Chandler may be let go for his choke job in playoffs (4ppg in playoffs... really?) 5.) I could see AA leaving if some team offers him a ridiculous offer the Nuggets are not willing to match, e.g. $8+ mil per... and sad to say as a fan, I could actually see it happen. 6.) We have so many young assets... I wouldn't be surprised if we make a draft day trade and move into lottery. In fact, there are only three players I know the Nuggets are DEFINITELY going to keep: Ty, Gallo, Mozgov... (unless some teams offer their superstar for them). The rest is up in the air.

Again, we saw how LeBron's team perform when he was the lone superstar in Cleveland, and why he chose to join forces with Wade and Bosh... it's because he wanted no pressure. It's easy to perform to the best of your ability without pressure, be it basketball, study, work, business. But can you consistently bring it regardless of the circumstance (pressure) and more importantly bring the results (Ws) at the end? LeBron was amazing in Game 5, but let's not forget Wade's 4 pt play, which was the turning point and momentum of the game. Without that Wade basket, LeBron would probably have played with less swagger when he made a 3 to tie and then broke down Brewer for the lead. In Dallas, they all expect Dirk to deliver the points, the turning point/ momentum, the wins... ALL by himself. Meanwhile, the Iguodalas, Pierces, and Dengs are often too distracted and tend to leave LeBron to help on penetrating Wade/ Bosh. --- The winning point here is LeBron's decision to leave Cleveland and join Miami to avoid the pressure that all lone superstars commonly have, that does it for me to give Dirk the nod as the best player. I mean, LeBron could have joined Bulls, which were arguably the better fit... but he'd rather risk playing with another ball-dominant perimeter player in Wade because at that point Wade and Bosh clearly had more superstar power to help ease his load than not-yet-MVP Rose.

Racking numbers do not tell the whole story, at least not imo. LeBron is definitely the more complete player than Dirk... but Dirk, like Dr. Feelgood said, has been ruthless to opponents in the playoffs. The Thunder have arguably the best frontcourt defenders in Ibaka, Collison, and Perkins... esp Ibaka... but he made the young athletic player look like he's old. Not only Dirk's destroying them with perimeter shots, but he's finishing inside too, actually he's waltzing inside. I wouldn't necessarily classify the best player as "the best scorer", but I think "the best player" definition to me is a player who consistently comes through when his team needs him the most and leads the team to wins. To me, there's no player who fits this description perfectly besides Dirk. He not only came through, the manner he put his team on his back when the team needed him the most was remarkable... he was UNSTOPPABLE. Sure LeBron did come through in Game 5, but he had help from Wade. Bosh also made things easier with his 30 pt games in Game 1 and 3. LeBron had help that he can consistently count on EVERY game and opposing teams can consistently dread on EVERY game. Dirk? Marion had a 26 pt game to close out the Thunder, but that was his season high, and unlike LeBron who can consistently count on his teammates every game, Dirk canNOT consistently count on his past-their-prime teammates Marion, Kidd, or role players like Chandler, Terry, and Barea who are expected to play like role players not bona fide superstar help like Wade. --- Put it this way, LeBron was in Dirk's shoes a year ago as a lone superstar when he put "the best player"'s stats but his Cavaliers team still lost series to Celtics. Worse, despite his mind-boggling numbers in his final Cav game, everyone (including Cavs fans who at that point were still hopeful he would resign) was saying he quit. If numbers are supposed to determine how good you are, why were his numbers in that last game largely ignored? LeBron has always been "the best player" in terms of putting most impressive stats in the past 3 years... but again, numbers do not tell the whole story imo. It's the player who wills his team to victory. LeBron was in Dirk's shoes, and we know how it went, and why he chose to join Wade and Bosh... it's because he didn't want the pressure that is on Dirk's shoulders now.

The Lakers must have already thought about Brown's incompetence on offense. They must already have something in plan, like an offense genius to be an assistant. Perhaps they can make the players keep the triangle on offense, players like Kobe and Derek Fisher to be player-coaches on offense, and have Mike Brown take care of the rest.

Besides the homecourt like Dash mentioned, the Bulls also have stifling defense. If they can dominate defensively Game 7 at home would make them very dangerous, which the Heat definitely don't want. I think there will be a Game 7 for the series, and I am going with Bulls
