  1. I like Redick and Nelson... but ain't touchin VC get that outta here But unfortunately Redick and Nelson and picks aren't enough for Melo... unless Magic are willing to do Redick and Nelson for Billups then yes.
  2. Do it Nets! Favors will be better than Amare... trust me. He'll be so good that Nets will regret this trade And as for that defenseless lazy garbage, you all can take him lol
  3. Yea I am trying to say, he's regressed so much defensively from what he was in his prime, that his D has somewhat become non-existent. His feet can no longer allow him to stay in front of opponents. But he is still good at defending guards who like to post up... Nash is helpless defensively. lol
  4. Masai Ujiri I really thought he was japanese... one could mistake him for the creator of Metal Gear Solid... but Nigerian? But he's known as a rising star in GM field I'm all for this hiring
  5. Favors, Williams and Harris... Nets can keep their picks... and peace on your way out Melo.
  6. Nash, easily. Billups can no longer defend anyone... and his so-called "leadership" since last season disappointed me. He chucks so many ill-advised shots and commits too many turnovers at seemingly the most inopportune time to be called a leader. How can you be a leader if your teammates don't really like playing with you? That's what I honestly feel the Nuggets players feel toward him... Nash shoots better, shoots as well from the free throw line, passes a lot better and runs a team a lot better.
  7. ^Is your brother on OTR as well? Cmon Nugz don't be cheap give the man his money or is it because they have their sights on Jerry West??
  8. I think J.R. could easily surpass JRich. He's so explosive... He's more creative in finishing and penetrating... some of the skills he possesses are just beastly I have to post it again... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMBtIHIMV54 #19 and #18 tell me his post game can be developed further... instead of attacking the rim, Phil can tell him, "I want you to learn turnaround fadeaway shot off post move." Kobe can teach him... who's the better teacher? J.R.'s done this (turnaround fadeaway shot off post move)... and he did this beautifully and perfectly... but it's a mystery as to why he does it only once or twice every season. If this guy masters the post game and some mid-range game, the things that made Kobe Kobe, J.R. would be an automatic 24+ppg player. #14 #6 #3 #1 tell me why J.R. could be the most explosive and (awesomest at that!) finisher in the history of this L. #13 #11 #10 remind me of Kobe...
  9. There's a reason why they say "injuries are part of the game".
  10. If I were Phil, having taken and successfully mastered personality projects as heavy as "Dennis Rodman", "Michael Jordan" (his ego was big all right), "Kobe" (see MJ), "Shaq", and "Ron Artest", I'd go to Mitch and ask, "can we get J.R.?" Or if I was Buss or Mitch, I would go to Phil asking him if he could take on another. Yes, there's a part in me that wants to see J.R. live to his potential under Phil, Gregg, or Doc... I hope he does. He'd be a fabulous player.
  11. Has Trevor Ariza dropped in 40+ pts effortlessly on 11 3s in a game? Has Trevor done 360 lay ups, obliterating defenses like in the clip below? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMBtIHIMV54 Trevor doesn't touch J.R. on offensive skills. Not even close.
  12. ^Thing is if I were you, I'd be lobbying for a J.R. for Vujajic trade. You have enough firepower as it is with Barnes and Blake, but just the imagine the thought of J.R. actually blossoming and living to his potential under Phil Jackson... J.R. at full potential could be a 24ppg player and possibly a franchise. He has unlimited shooting range, he has athleticism, he has skills. He only needs to have the right brain that says "I want to get better and be the best player I can be." Then he'll learn to play D, and add a post move, and Kobe mid range game and moves. Perfect. I think only Phil, Gregg, and Doc can reach to his brain to get him to play to his full potential.
  13. ^Honestly, I prefer Danilo over Kevin Martin... Danilo is younger and in my opinion can be a franchise player if he has the right mind, not be just content with being a 20ppg player. That said, it's still taking a risk... If risk is the route we take, I would want the Nuggets to bank on Derrick Favors.
  14. I'm a believer that it will take time for Turner to be the 20ppg he's capable of being. I don't think he will be a franchise like Brandon Roy is... I think he's a Caron Butler type of player. He's one of the pieces instead of THE piece. Keep Jrue, trade Iggy for a big, and they might have something going.
  15. Woj is rated as the second highly trusted source after Marc Stein on Hoopshype... he knows his stuff. That said, I'm with Real on this one... I don't see him going to the Rockets unless Yao can regain his pre-injury form. And even so, it's still a long shot. And we don't want Martin and scrubs for him. Thinking about it makes me sick.
  16. And Real you can keep your Vujasuck on your team. He was the machine like 3-4 years ago, now he's a dead weight. I'd rather keep J.R. lol
  17. That sums it up. We don't need a player who puts 40 pts on 11 3s one game and then goes cold for the next 2 weeks shooting 25-30%. We don't want blowout wins some and then losses because some player takes 15 shots and only makes 3-4. He hurts us more when he's a no show... I just want someone who comes off the bench and gives a steady 15 consistently every game. Nothing explosive, or fancy, just steady... e.g. Jamal Crawford since joining the Hawks.
  18. I'm also going to add that instead of Billups, maybe play Gordon more. Like Billups, Gordon is also a scorer in a PG body but is much younger and has more explosiveness. He can shoot 3s, he can take it to the rack, and at this point in their careers, is a better defender than Billups. Billups is more clutch and has more leadership, but hey, someone has to start from somewhere right? I've also started questioning Billups' leadership quietly this season, his constant poor decision makings (you can count he will commit a turnover 50% of the time when he penetrates to the rim by trying to dish to the bigs, or when trying to pass in transition, or when he's trying to cross over someone) and shot taking. The rate he shoots can almost put him in the "selfish" category... He's an average passer... and should serve his leadership elder state man role best on the sideline.
  19. ^I'm looking for the best interest of the Nuggets of course, but doesn't mean it has to be at the expense of other party involved. Always have a win-win deal, that way all parties involved are happy, and you make it happen, instead of just talk. Why are Nets happy? They got franchise... if they want to give a lot. You have to give a lot for a franchise... and they get to keep the only player they don't want to trade: Lopez. And you want us to throw in Lawson? Come on now. Why are Nuggets happy? We got Favors, Williams, and Gasol (if my second trade successful). If they want us to throw in Lawson... it's no deal. Take it or leave it... I'm sure they'll take it... eventually. Even if it means until the February deadline. --- Newman, not really... unlike LeBron and Bosh, we actually do hold some leverage in that the next CBA will impose lower salaries for players. If we do deal now, we can make a contract with Melo that he extends to give him the maximum that he seeks and then trade him to the Nets. We can just do nothing (not trade him), let him play the 2010-11 season, and then he walks (yes, we lose) but Melo WILL also lose because by him not signing extension, it means he will have to sign his next contract under the new CBA that surely imposes lower salary. He certainly wants to sign that extension to get his money, but if he does, our leverage only grows.
  20. Well you gotta give something if you want a franchise... Melo is no Barkley, he can't rebound as well, but he is a franchise player in a different category. He puts points and puts your team in contention... always. People know he doesn't play defense, but under the coach that demands it (Karl doesn't), he can be an exceptional defender... and by this, I don't mean above average... I mean EXCEPTIONAL defender. We saw he made it tough for Kobe in WCF 2 years ago. He's got quick feet to stay in front of his men, big and physical body, and quick hands to be disruptive. The thing that makes him poor defender is his laziness/ attitude. But Melo, under the right coach, can be a perfect player and therefore an undisputed franchise player. Devin Harris is certainly not. Brooke Lopez may be a 20 and 10 but no franchise. Favors? If they're willing to bank on it. Williams had a nice rookie season, but he is a once All Star in his career at best. But Melo is the sure thing... he's proven and is reaching his peak soon. Remember also that the player Nets really don't wanna part is Lopez. They keep him and add a franchise player. Their next step is to surround them with the right players. For the Nuggets, we can afford to lose him... for the right value. We certainly don't want someone who doesn't wanna stay. And if we keep him, then he'll walk and we get nothing or 3 first round picks... no no way! It's also arguable Barkley would have not won MVP had he stayed in Philly.
  21. We only need to sell to the Nets this: "Melo will put the Nets in the playoffs." Melo never misses playoffs in his career... LeBron missed one, Wade and Bosh missed some... As lazy and primadonna he can be, he is a winner. His numerous game winning shots back it up. The Nets must also be intrigued in pairing him with Brook Lopez... with Melo, they got franchise. Without Melo, they might not have one. They got All Stars, but no franchise. If they think Favors is franchise, it's taking a risk... if they're willing to do that. I am a big believer in Favors, so I don't think acquiring him is a risk... Remember guys, Barkley was traded to the Suns for 4 good players... Melo is capable of being in MVP consideration every year.
  22. It seems more obvious by the day that this guy is not interested in staying... so if I were GM I'd trade him for: Nets: Derrick Favors, Terrence Williams, and Devin Harris... Big believer in Derrick Favors, I think he's the next big thing at PF position. He will be our newest franchise. I'd then trade Harris for a nice big, Memphis seems stacked with bigs, maybe Harris can give us Marc Gasol and filler. C - Marc Gasol PF - Derrick Favors SF - Terrence Williams SG - Arron Afflalo PG - Ty Lawson --- 6th - Chauncey Billups 7th - Nene 8th - Kenyon Martin 9th - Al Harrington 10th - J.R. Smith 11th - Chris Andersen And we should win 55 games.
  23. Obviously Kevin Durant is key to the USA success... but when/ if he has off game... I think these guys hold key to success: - Stephen Curry... if I was Coach K, I'd make him dribble less and give him a designated catch-and-shoot shooter role. He can shoot from any spot, his range is incredible, but more importantly is, he's a shot-maker, not just a three pt shooter or mid range specialist. Success to international game is the ability to knock down shots when you're open... just penetrate and kick it to Steph... I'd make him Reggie Miller of this team. Catch and shoot type of guy, make him dribble less. - Lamar Odom... he is a very good rebounder... make him rebound and get every ball... defensively, he's tall and long. His versatility to play outside and bring the ball inside should have big impact in international game.
  24. Great question... But as usual Nitro read my mind and wrote everything I had in mind
