Update: Lorenzen Wright found dead
Multi-Billionaire replied to Nitro's topic in General NBA Discussion
^AI was so young and explosive back then... there was this play where Nash tried to guard him and AI took the challenge, stared him down and started a crossover, Nash backed away 3 steps lol... Can't believe it was 13 years ago Now he's old -

Update: Lorenzen Wright found dead
Multi-Billionaire replied to Nitro's topic in General NBA Discussion
I remember he was from the 1996 Draft Class, the game I remembered most about him is the 1997 Rookie Game in Cleveland... it was exciting. Kobe had 31 pts but AI won the MVP. RIP -
Chicharito scored the last goal, it was a beauty
-
^Maybe it's just for this game? It's like Magic Johnson putting "Magic" instead of "Johnson" on the back of his jersey, or Anfernee Hardaway putting "Penny" instead of "Hardaway"

Watching recording now... Man U killing All Star One question this Man U's new signee Javier Hernandez, why is the name printed on his jersey "Chicharito"?

Update: Lorenzen Wright found dead

Bison Dele also went missing... and found dead (??) can anyone confirm? When I watch Nugget games, Nene likes to go missing too although he's totally on the court. -
Players you were wrong about
Multi-Billionaire replied to Check my Stats's topic in General NBA Discussion
I am wrong about: - Stephen Curry - I thought he was an excellent shooter, can create shots but have difficulties here and there, and I knew he was an excellent passer and had great court vision. But if you check the second half of this past season, the stats of 30+pts, 10+ assists and 5+ rebounds in the same game, many times, is amazing... I knew he was going to be good, but not "30pts, 10assists in the same game" good. He can create his shots at will. Great pick by Warriors. - Danny Granger - I thought he'd be just another role player - Greg Oden - I thought he was gonna be amazing and dominant... certainly didn't take potential injuries into account but in games he played he showed little reason why Portland could be this so amazing they could win a championship with him and Roy... he has fallen far from that... - OJ Mayo - not because I thought he'd be a bust, but because I thought he'd be a Kobe Bryant type of scorer... that 26-28 ppg guy... but what I'm most wrong about him is his mentality... I thought he's a selfish type mentality but he is a sharer of the ball if you take out his rookie season... After his rookie campaign ended, he sought Chauncey Billups and asked for his guidance... Billups taught him to be a leader... that to be a leader, he has to learn to pass and involve his teammates... he has become a very unselfish player that only cares about winning... totally unexpected... - Kevin Love - I thought he'd be a stiff, but first of all, this guy can REALLY rebound... I think that strength of rebounding to go with his special passing skill gave him enough amount of confidence to succeed in this L... when he could have struggled scoring... but the confidence is necessary for his offense to grow... I'd trade Nene straight up for this guy. - Al Horford - I thought he's an automatic 20 and 10 immediately... he's an All Star now which is a step in the right direction but he's a bit far from 20 and 10 - Yi Jianlian - I thought he'd be great I am right about these players: - Derrick Rose - because I had him over Beasley by a mile when people were still arguing who should be the 1st pick - Beasley - not exactly bust but I said he would have a problem if he didn't change his attitude... for the same reason as above when people thought he should be the 1st pick over Rose - Westbrook - mock drafts everywhere had this guy drafted at 6th at best... some even had him at 12th... when I saw he play, he was explosive and just had a flair in getting through defense... I thought he was like Gilbert Arenas... and I put him at 4th in my mock draft saying that KD didn't need a true PG because KD could already make plays for himself at will... (people had Jerryd Bayless *smh* or DJ Augustin for thinking they're more PG than Westbrook) - DJ Augustin - I knew he was too small and he possesses no one thing that is special that could cover his height weakness... I still remember a thread I created on old OTR saying DJ wouldn't be anything special in NBA... his speed isn't anything extraordinary (like Ty Lawson)... he is average athletically, he doesn't have long arms, wingspan is average... he could shoot as long as it's not "shooting off dribble being guarded by athletic defenders"... - Brandon Rush - I knew he'd be just a role player... people were saying he'd be a star... I'd love to have him on Nuggets though... - Gallinari - after his first year people wrote him as bust but I knew he can play, besides just shooting, he can pass, he can dribble, he can make plays, he can defend, at his prime I think he can be a more complete player than Nowitzki, who's just a scorer and little else... but one thing I'm still unsure of Gallo aside of his potential is his work ethic... I don't know if he's a gym rat or just casual or lazy... if he's a gym rat he could be as good as Nowitzki and even more complete like I projected... he's a heck of a competitor though and that is a good one to start... Knick fans will be the first to say this - Jordan Hill - bust - Tyreke Evans - I knew he'd be a mini LeBron James... the strength and speed applied to dribbling and finishing -
^Perfect... thanks now I think I really understand. You should do everything in your power to achieve success and the key is to never stop until you do. Failure only comes because you stop and accept defeat, which is no excuse because to keep going or to stop is totally your choice and is totally under your control. You have no excuse for your failures but yourself because if you fail that means you choose to stop.

Hey man, keep updating your threads cuz I definitely read them I wanna watch good movies only. lmao Dragon Ball is the worst movie I've seen... Piccollo? Get real... Why Akira Toriyama could ever agree to such movie, is beyond me, it hurt the franchise...

^Hey I think you nailed it... you genius SOB Kobe lover lol!!! This is the quote from the book: So... I see that: - "Success requires no apologies" means: no apologies for what you believe to be right. If your way of seeking happiness is morally correct, you've done nothing wrong and have nothing to apologize for once you achieve it. - "Failure permits no alibis" means: ??? What do you mean by this? ?? Did you mean to write "failure is only temporary UNLESS you accept defeat"?? Thanks
-
^Interesting it sounds like that's what it means... anyone else has a different interpretation?
-
Can someone help me explain this in plain english... "Success requires no apologies, failure permits no alibis" It spins my head... wtf does it mean? Taken from Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich"... very good book I'd recommend it for anyone. The "Rich" does not necessarily mean money but it can be money rich, spirit rich, happiness rich, or whatever you define "rich" is... But if someone can help me with this quote, it would be great... pls explain in the simplest english

Evan Turner after Summer League
Multi-Billionaire replied to Real Deal's topic in Philadelphia 76ers Team Forum
Just like my Cousins thread... I'm with Flash in this one... I think the Sixers picked the wrong guy... it should have been Derrick Favors. Like I said before the draft, picking 3rd is a blessing in disguise for the Nets because they had no choice but to select Favors... had they had the 2nd pick, they would have selected Turner too. So, I do think the 2nd pick was kinda a curse lol I do think Turner is gonna be good eventually but it might take until his 4th year before he figures it out. But no matter how good Turner will be, it's not gonna be "Favors good". Wall is gonna be great. He, Derrick Rose and Russell Westbrook is gonna form a triangle rivalry... Turner will take time to figure out. He will be an all star but not superstar. Favors will be a sensation right off the bat... he will be an elite PF superstar. Cousins = Nene = big man with to-die-for skills but soft in the head... inconsistent aggressiveness. -
Cousins = Nene
Multi-Billionaire replied to Multi-Billionaire's topic in Sacramento Kings Team Forum
I'm just gonna say you're not following Nene/ Nuggets closely... Nene has the ability to average 20 and 10. But if you see when he has the ball he likes to give it up when he's supposed to be aggressive. It's not like he's overwhelmed by defenses like Kwame Brown or other big scrubs... but it's that he gives the ball up with too much frequency that he will never become a 20 ppg scorer. Cousins had Wall, Nene has had Melo, Camby (shot chucker), Andre Miller (underrated shot chucker), Chauncey Billups (sneaky shot chucker), J.R. Smith (should I even start). If you guys think I'm being delusional, watch more Nugget games. Too bad Doug Collins has taken Sixers job, if he had stayed with TNT, whenever he comments Nugget games, he will say the same thing every time, when Nene has the ball, that he has the ability to average 20 and 10, but he just doesn't have the mentality. George Karl also wants the team to give the ball to Nene... and Nene also says he wants more touches... but the idiot (I'm just pissed) passes when he gets the ball. Apparently when he says "I want more touches" means he just likes to touch it, but doesn't mean he would score... damn it... sometimes I wonder why he's so sissy when he can do this... Nene over Yao (sorry Yugo lol) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7oVqgdp_EY Three straight dunks! On Amare http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuEX_DRVoOo&NR=1 On Lee On Booz You will see the reason why Nene should average 20 and 10 is not only because he's skilled, but also that he (along with Boozer and Jermaine O'Neal) are the bigs with serious skills that are ambidextrous, being able to use both hands fluidly. It's arguable that he uses his left better than his right. He dunks with right or left with so much ease. What's more the three straight dunks also give you a look at Nene's ballhandling skill... I get it not all the time you will see defense-less open court like that but the point here is Nene is very comfortable with handling the ball. So there's no reason why he shouldn't attack the basket more because he's not fumbling the ball off the dribble, he is very comfortable. Cousins can only dream he has that ball handling ability. Pretend Nene is on your team and you're the coach. You see his ability, you're gonna say to him "you gotta average 20 and 10 for me right?... anything less and you're [expletive]ting me.." But no... for whatever reason, this guy is just mentally not there... like when you see Charles Barkley rebound, he wanted the ball so bad... when you see Amare going to the basket he says, "I ain't passing this ball, cuz I'm gonna score". Problem is Nene doesn't have this... he is too unselfish to a fault. I see a lot of Nene in Cousins... Cousins will be just like Nene, not only skill wise, but court attitude. Lacking the necessary aggressiveness and consistency to average 20 and 10. If there's one word I'd use to describe both men, it's inconsistency. It will be the theme of their careers. -

You guys are doing everything on stats... Was KD the first overall pick in 2007 because he had unbelievable stats? No. Greg Oden was selected 1st. What did MJ's stats look like? Not pretty. Just because Beasley had unbelievable stats in college doesn't mean he's gonna have unbelievable career in NBA... Why can't I compare players' games? You have a "Player Comparison" sub-forum on your own site... does it say "use stats only"? No... you can compare players' games. What's wrong with that? If you see stats as the only measurement how a player is going to perform, then your analysis is limited. You will have to be able to observe the game outside stats also... such as the player's ability to make everything seem easy, the difficulty he gets his shots off, the ease in the way he drives past his defenders or solving the defenses. When you see Kevin Durant, the way he creates his shots is just so effortless... then compare that to the likes of DeShawn Stevenson. Two big men in Nene and Cousins... two very similar physiques and games: - Both are big, strong and thick (although Cousins is a good 1-2" taller) - Both have soft hands, can shoot, can pass and have soft touch around the paint - Both have solid post moves but both lack inspirations to do them consistently and improve - Both lack consistency in aggressiveness in attacking the basket, in boxing out for the rebounds - Both are too pass happy when they are supposed to attack the damn basket <__< (esp Nene) Why can't I compare them? I made my analysis of Rose, Westbrook and Beasley, and Jordan Hill (I thought he'd be a stiff when people were saying he's a top 6 pick) before they played a single NBA game... also I said Tyreke Evans is a mini LeBron James in that he drives from end to end with similar dribbling and finishing styles. If you keep doing everything on stats, then of course you will not be able to "predict" or see beyond just the present. You will keep saying "you can't... because he hasn't played a game"... you have limited boundaries. But to each his own If you say I can't compare Cousins to Nene because the former has not played a single NBA game yet, well this is what this thread is for, to let you know Snake says this first -

Why is everyone saying Blake is this good defender? He played for the Nuggets and I can say first hand, he's average. He's not bad, but he's not good. He's more like Steve Nash on defense than Kirk Hinrich... So please, this "Blake playing good defense" is nothing but out of wild imagination. Ty will roast him next season -

^Even if it's fresh, milk goes bad easily at room temperature in outside-fridge conditions, esp in warm/ summer conditions... so I think that explains it I throw out undrunk milk after 5 hrs... in summer, since it's so hot here at Christmas time, 30 mins and it almost goes bad -

You do know mashed at restaurants are usually prepared well before serving and they can be up to 2 days old in fridge when they're served on your plate? The only way I see why your mash turned bad is because it was outside fridge in warm-summer hot conditions, and your mash contained milk that almost went bad... So the milk part in it went bad and smelled Worked in kitchen we put milk and butter yummm .. trutojan, I don't see why ranch is bad... love it in my Sub sandwiches
