Jay-Z & Kanye West-Watch The Throne Official Thread
La Bomba replied to MainEv3nt's topic in Music Forum
This album is unreal, and Jay is sounding like the American Gangster, The Blueprint Jay-Z. -
do you ever get sad when you're finished with a class?
La Bomba replied to reno's topic in Off-Topic Discussion Forum
Graduating high school was something that took time to hit me. I'm not going to complain about my four years because I loved the people I had been going to school with. I went to a private, all boys catholic school and we all became really good friends, especially senior year. I wouldn't of wanted to go to any other school in the city just because I know I couldn't of developed that type of friendship with people anywhere else. Now that everyone's going to college I only have 4 of my friends going to college with me in my hometown, and I'm really going to miss seeing the friends from high school on a regular basis. -
A Neymar golazo that might’ve just upped his transfer price
La Bomba replied to Cobb's topic in Soccer Forum
Cool, Ronaldinho's fat ass scored a hat trick that game. Brazilian league is weak and after all these partying Brazilians that Real Madrid has brought through the years, I'm too scared as a Real fan to bring another one. Bring back Adebayor. Cheap, loved by his teammates, and brings the team the type of goal scorer the team needs: someone who is dangerous in the arial game and scores with few touches because he scores most of his goals inside the penalty box. 45 million for an arrogant 18 year old who has already had questions brought up about his work ethic and his sacrifice for the team scares me too much. -
No. 1 pick Newton signs 4-year, $22M deal

Awesome change to the league. Definitely a fair, deserved contract for a rookie fresh out of college. -
Lawrence Frank on verge of becoming Detroit's next head coach
La Bomba replied to Dash's topic in Detroit Pistons Team Forum
I always thought Frank was a pretty solid head coach, but the Pistons are such a mess right now, I don't see their woes ending anytime soon. -
I wouldn't mind taking part. Right now I'm in Spain, and I don't have much time on the internet, and the time zone change would complicate things. I would be willing to take part in August when I'm back in the U.S. though.

Would Yao be a top 5 Center ever if healthy?
La Bomba replied to AboveLegit's topic in General NBA Discussion
Considering how coordinated and talented he was for a guy that was 7'6, he could of been so much more. Didn't have many ten rebound seasons and he only had one season where he surpassed 25 PPG. The centers that are consistently on everyone's top 5 centers did both of these things throughout their career, not to mention Yao has never been looked at as an elite defender. -
Shaq doesn't get credit for how good of a defensive player he was. He was not as disciplined as Dwight or other top defensive big men, but simply for the fact that he is 7'1 and 325+ pounds makes him makes him a menacing force on defense. Players didn't go to the paint with such ease because they knew if they ran into Shaq, they would land on their ass. And there's no way anyone should ever question Shaq's dominance on offense being that he was the most dominant big man since Kareem. I'll take prime Shaq over Dwight anyday of the week, whether he was playing for the Lakers or the Magic. With that said, when making an all-time team, Dwight gets the nod over Shaq because he's been there for more years and he looks like the face of the franchise for years to come. If Dwight does end up leaving Orlando in the next few years, Shaq deserves to be there over Dwight because he's the better player.

I'll build a team around a young Kidd. Kidd ability to rebound at the point guard position that is rare and I think he's more capable of running different systems. Nash was an all-star point guard in Dallas, but once he arrived to Phoenix's wide open, fast break offense was where he became a MVP caliber player (one of those MVPs I feel was not deserved). Kidd was one of the best defensive players at the perimeter in his prime, and although he was never the scorer Nash was in terms of long range shooting and such, their PPG averages (Nash: 14.6; Kidd: 13.2) are not much different as well as their career highs in PPG ( Kidd: 18.7; Nash: 18.8). Not till Nash came to Phoenix did his assist per game averages go over 9 per game, while Kidd has only had three seasons where he has averaged less than 9 assists. With that said, in a team like Phoenix or a team that is already built and has a favorable system, there are few point guards I would take over Nash.

Curren$y, Mac Miller, Pretty Lights, than jam bands like Phish, The Greatful Dead, Widespread Panic, Perpetual Groove, STS9 are some of my favorites for these situations.

Memphis vs. Kansas in the National Championship. Nothing else comes even close. First time I really cried over a sport, and that image of Chalmers hitting that shot didn't leave my mind for weeks. None of the other teams I root for have ever been successful enough for me to experience a painful lose. Losing the series to OKC in the second round this year sucked, but I saw it coming. Real Madrid losing to Barcelona this year in the Champions League was pretty painful because I know we would of had a really good chance of winning if it wasn't for that bullshit flop by Alves that got Pepe a red card.

I'm still a firm believer in DeMarcus Cousins as long as he keeps his head straight. He's too talented to ignore in this discussion and JJ Hickson could turnout to be a very solid pro. I'm not completely sold on DeAndre Jordan, but whatever front court Blake Griffin is a part of is going to be a handful.

I have to agree. PKs are the least awarding method in any sport of crowning a winning team after regulation time is done.

What a pathetic tournament. Argentina doesn't have a midfield and makes Messi be the team's facilitator (which he isn't capable of doing on a winning team), and their defense is a complete laughing stock. Brazil's best players are Robinho: a player who had to go back to Santos because he couldn't handle Manchester City two years ago, Neymar: a overrated 18 year old who isn't ready for the big stage yet, and Ganso: the one bright spot of Brazil in this tournament, but with no help around him. South American teams better shape up before the next world cup because there isn't one team capable of even looking at a top team in Europe.

An argument can be made that Radiohead is one of the most talented bands since The Beatles, and they are certainly one of the most original. No matter the album, Radiohead is able to bring a completely different style and still make a quality album. Radiohead hasn't had the main stream success The Beatles had throughout their careers, so comparing them to the Beatles is unfair because The Beatles reached out to such a large audience. I'd also like to add that any type of rock band that says they haven't sightly been influenced by The Beatles is lying. The Beatles changed music forever.

Nice work, I'm glad the yellow and black is back on the banners. -
Not a big Game fan, but this beat is great and Yella tears it up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5SuZmz8J8c

Been waiting to write this for a while, but now seems like the time people are finally starting to realize it. Messi is an amazing player, but he has amazing teammates in Barcelona. Messi needs those guys to be successful. Xavi, Iniesta, and Busquets play for Messi, while in Argentina players are supposed to play through Messi. Still for reasons like this is why i continued to take Ronaldo over Messi.

What a shitty tournament. No team in the Americas is looking like one that can compete against Spain or Germany.

2011 Pick #2: Minnesota Timberwolves
La Bomba replied to Real Deal's topic in General NBA Discussion
Enes Kanter. Would pair up well with Kevin Love and a star center is rare. I think Kanter has star potential and would give the Timberwolves one of the best big man duos in the league. I'm starting to have second thoughts about this after Beasley's recent trouble with the law, but Kanter has star potential at center. -
I got a bunch of good music to download once I get back in the states. I definitely want to check this out.
