  1. I agree with just about everything you said. Nice work. I hate when people start getting excited about Thabeet by looking at his stats alone. Sure, looking at his stats Thabeet doesn't look that bad considering the minutes he plays, but he isn't a good on ball defender at all and basically looks like he'll turn into a homeless person's Marcus Camby. Camby could atleast rebound and his offensive game is existant. Gay has improved vastly compared to last season, but he still falls in love with his jumper, he's still extremely selfish, and his defense is still poor. No way he deserves the 55+ million dollar contract he's asking for. Mayo also falls in love to often with his jumper, but I have more hope with him than I do with Gay because he's more disciplined and a better team player. He would be so much more effective if he were moved to point. His floor vision is vastly underrated. I'm glad you mentioned the change in Zach Randolph as a leader and as a player. Some people ignore the fact that his assist numbers are up and he's shooting a much better percentage and a lot of that is due to him becoming a team player. The lazy, cancerous, unmotivated Zach Randolph that was seen in Portland, New York, and Los Angeles is not the player seen in Memphis. I think the Grizzlies really do have a nice chance of making the playoffs as a low seed in the West, but the lack of depth is really going to come back and bite them. Sam Young is nice, but who other than him can take part of the scoring load when starters are resting?
  2. This is signing period so it's a good time to make a thread. Barry Brunetti, top 5 dual threat QB, changed his mind and is going to Mississippi State instead of West Virgina.
  3. Marcus Morris has improved so much compared to last season. He could turn into an All-American if he sticks around.
  4. Snooki reminds me of Ronaldinho for some reason.
  5. The Grizzlies will always be the second team in Memphis. The Tigers get close to selling out against nearly anyone in the schedule. The Grizzlies only come close to selling out when they play a top five team.
  6. The only reason we got a game is because the game was played during MLK day and Memphis was an important city in the civil rights movement and the city where he was killed.
  7. Kansas State is causing a lot of Texas turnovers. Kansas State fans are crazy.
  8. The most common for the Grizzlies BY FAR is the Zach Randolph is lazy and a cancer. I didn't watch him at all in his previous stops but I watch him bust his [expletive] to get rebounds, get contact on both ends and I see him take young players, like Hasheem Thabeet, and mentor them when they make mistakes.
  9. Nice trap defense by the Grizzlies. This game is basically over now. Great fan turnout and good game by the starters. Grizzlies are getting closer and closer to a playoff spot.
  10. I'm really hoping Demarr gets in over Gordan. I'm not particularly excited for this dunk contest, especially seeing Nate Robinson there again.
  11. Jared Allen will have a field day against Bushrod, the same way Demarus Ware did. If Bress is protected well, the Saints will win. I'm hoping our secondary turns back into the one from the beginning of the season.
  12. I like the game Mike Conley is having. He's controlling the tempo well and setting up his teammates. He hasn't scored much, but on a team with so much firepower on offense, that is all he should have to do sometimes.
  13. Louis Amundson is dominating on both sides.
  14. They are both similar players because they both rather take perimeter shots before posting up. Bargnani is a better weakside shot blocker, but Aldridge is a slightly better rebounder. Both players are overpaid, and both don't play great defense although they are still young and have room to improve. I'll take Aldridge because he's a better rebounder and is slightly more comfortable in the post.

  16. We have won eight games in a row at home, which is a franchise record. Hopefully we can show the rest of the NBA fans who we are capable of being on a nationally televised game.
  17. - When Mayo misses 14 footers - When Rudy Gay takes a contested jumper 7 second into the shot clock - When the ball gets passed to Thabeet - Thabeet getting involved in the offense in anyway that isn't tip ins or offensive rebounds - When Sam Young pump fakes and I always think he's about to shoot
  18. C'mon man, I hate Tennessee but this is definitely a douche bag move. He talked so much about the big things he was going to do at Tennessee, but than he leaves after one season and takes a great recruiting class with him. I understand USC was his "dream job," but he lied to that fan base and his players. You don't just leave a big program after one season and by doing so you basically make that program start from scratch. It's just inconsiderate.
  19. UNC was overrated from the start. Way to young and green to be a top 5 team to start the season. The same argument can be made for Kentucky but Kentucky is simply more talented and their freshman are more polished. They'll be a force by next year though.
  20. They used to call Eric Gordan Air Gordan in high school. He has hops, but he doesn't seem that creative from what I have seen.
  21. I wish these attention whores like Pat Robinson were ignored. People can believe in what they want and they have the right to say what they please, but the things Pat Robinson says really just makes me hate some of these religious fanatics out there. Blame 9/11 on abortion and say Hurricane Katrina and this earthquake were "deals with the devil." Wow.

  23. Agreed. Durant is actually being overshadowed IMO. He doesn't get enough recognition for some of the unreal things he's doing as a third year player. The "he's the only scorer on his team" is no longer an excuse for his production.
  24. I can understand why Tennessee fans are angry because I was just as angry when Calipari left my team, but you can't really blame Kiffin for leaving. USC can handpick their recruits and California is a goldmine when it comes to high school football. Kiffin is returning to where he started, and this was probably his dream job to begin with. As strong of a history UT football has, USC is light years ahead of them. The only thing Tennessee gets a nod over USC, if anything, is a more passionate fanbase and obviously the better conference.
