  1. I watched a lot of Tyreke Evans. I tried to catch as many of his games possible when he was in high school after he committed to Memphis and I watched every just about every Memphis game there was to watch. To me, Evans was a SG playing point guard, but he really couldn't be trusted at SG all the time because of his shot and he doesn't have the ball in his hands constantly. I thought he could develop into a very solid player in ethier position, but I thought it would take a few years. I just saw him as extremely green. I didn't think his transition to the NBA game would be easy because in college, he would just overpower people in the paint when he penetrated, but was no threat to hit no more than a 15 footer. At times, he would look out of control and sloppy. I thought he was going to be a TO's machine in first few season. I'm just so impressed with his poise and his work ethic at his young age. His shot has improved drastically. He has gotten even stronger, and he is working so much harder on the defensive end than people gave him credit for in high school. Jennings gets all the spotlight, and rightfully so, but Evans is having a great season so far. His stats are pretty impressive for a guy that was supposed to be a "raw talent" player. 2. Dinner with family and a bunch of Spanish people.
  3. Than I don't understand why you're so pissed off about a guy that did what everyone else did. This is Calipari's fault for putting a clause in the agreement that said if he left, the recruits could leave. He knew from the start he would leave because he was the mastermind behind the entire ACT scandal in Detroit.
  4. No one came other than Will Coleman. Everyone else followed Calipari other than Nolan Dennis (Baylor) and Xavier. Henry is a classy player and spoke well about Memphis after he decided to go to Kansas. You can't really blame him for going else where. Pastner is a first year coach and didn't have time to convince anyone to stay. Henry's mother and father played at Kansas and he was close to picking them in the first place.
  5. Clippers are absolutely horrid. Grizzlies leading by 20.
  6. How come I can't get this? I have Gold and the only feature I'm getting is the Zune one.

  9. I'm proud of my team, but hated some of the play calling. It literally felt that the ball carrier waited center court and watched people move around. I barley saw any picks or screens (which BTW Will Coleman is terrible at). Our defense looked pretty good out there, though. I loved Elliot Williams, but he really needs to work on that jumper. His defense is great and so is his athleticism.
  10. Aldrich is going to kill us inside. Too tall and too talented compared to our big guys. A bunch of Memphis fans at the game.
  11. Damn it, Michigan State needs to finish the game already.
  12. That isn't my point. My point is that what Jennings said is unclassy whether you think it's true or not. I bring up Duncan again. He's the best power forward of all time. How many times has he reminded people of that? And scoring points aren't everything, especially basing your argument that Jennings is better than Jennings off one game. Charlie Villanueva had a 48 point game his rookie season and he's nothing more than a solid starter with a bunch of noticeable flaws. Rubio does so much more than just score points. Rubio is yet to play a game in the NBA, so how you automatically assume that Jennings is the better player? Because he's having a good rookie season and Rubio's in Europe? Who knows what Rubio would average if he were playing in the league right now. It's not fair to assume it. Since you're such a fan of stats, Rubio's statistics in Europe are far superior to the ones Jennings had in Europe, to the point where it isn't even close. Rubio is also among the best perimeter defenders in Europe, and that's not me saying that, it's PROFESSIONAL scouts.
  13. I'll repost what I said on BTA: The Warriors are a complete mess in the locker room and in that front office. If the front office were smart, Don Nelson's days would be numbered.
  14. Has it been aired yet. Here's a spoiler if it hasn't. It's in Spanish though. http://www.as.com/baloncesto/articulo/pau-gasol-intervino-csi-miami/dasbal/20091117dasdasbal_6/Tes
  15. Umm...what? Plenty of players know their abilities and thinking you're the best is part of pushing you to become a better player. It doesn't mean they should go out there and say it and degrade others in the process. They usually keep it to themselves. Tim Duncan never says anything about the rings he has, the MVPs he's won, or the statistics he's been putting up since he was a rookie, yet I bet in his mind he knows his abilities.
  16. Grizzlies fans can remind themselves how his younger brother owns him.
  17. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MqmMxvQrxM&feature=player_embedded Wall is an amazing, special player, but plays for the most overrated team in the country.
  18. Did you wear a bullet proof vest in downtown Memphis?
  19. Ivaroni tried Conley as a sixth man and he was very mediocre. I was fooled in the beginning of the season. I actually thought we had a chance to make the playoffs, but if you look at the rest of the West, do you really think we're better than Portland, Denver, OKC, Utah, Phoenix, Lakers, Mavs, Rockets, or even the Kings right now? I'd rather just continue to build around the draft (maybe FA this summer) instead of fighting to win 35 games and not make the playoffs.
  20. Welcome aboard. Glad to affiliate with your site.
  21. Apparently Xavier Henry was talking trash on his Twitter, but many believe it's a fake, even Memphis fans. Xavier is a classy guy, and I doubt he would do say that about the school he chose to attend at one point.
  22. Well I wouldn't be surprised if Memphis joins the Big East or the Big 12 within the next few years, that idea has been tossed around a lot lately, more than usual. Memphis should be getting guys that can't make it to the SEC, but are still quality, D1 players. There is plenty of talent around the Memphis area.
  23. Zach has no reason to leave. He has been making a much better effort on both sides of the ball (his defense is nothing special, but still). He works hard in the glass and I haven't heard about any problems with his attitude or with any teammates having problems with him.
  24. You mentioned the exact reason why this deal was dumb. The Grizzlies are no better with him. Conley is in his third year, and it's about time we see if he really has the talent he displayed in OSU because if not we should look elsewhere for our point guard. I don't want Iverson taking away his minutes if we aren't going to win. Rudy Gay spoke out about Iverson and his antics, so has Hollins, and so has the fan base. Micheal Hiesley is the only one who has supported this deal because he is the master mind behind it. Quite frankly, we're all tired of all the drama that isn't wanted in a young team in the first place. I tried to defend this deal, but there's a point where you just stop. Iverson had to understand he was wanted as a sixth-man and if the management didn't address that than they have some fault to this as well considering Iverson's past issues with playing time. I disagree that Iverson takes the load from Mayo and gives him open shots. Iverson may have decent assist numbers but he completely disrupts the ball movement. Not to mention Iverson's defense is absolutely horrendous. Conley at least stays with his man and makes an effort. Iverson just goes for risky steals and passes in the lane.
  25. Gasol slimmed down and now he's an absolute monster. I know he wouldn't be the player he is right now if he didn't do so.
