Lionell Hollins doesn't know the meaning of defense. No because Mayo doesn't have an undeserved contract worth and he isn't a second fiddle. Jerry West's redneck [expletive] just handed out max contracts to second fiddle players like Pau Gasol. Chris Wallace did Memphis a favor by trading that softie.

Mayo, Rudy Gay Have To Be Separated
La Bomba replied to MainEv3nt's topic in Memphis Grizzlies Team Forum
Guess the players word doesn't mean anything now. -
The lost weight has made him have quicker feet and he improved athletically giving him the ability to get more boards. Before he scored his points by overpowering his opponents and having a reliable 10 foot jumper. I haven't seen him take a jumper yet all season.

Last season we wouldn't hit 40 in the fist half. Now we have 40 in the first quarter. Fun game to watch, 40-35 at the end of the first quarter.

The Grizzlies are off to a great start. 8-9 shooting, finding open guys, and nailing jumpers. Gasol has had two pretty passes from the post that have resulted in points. It has been a shootout so far.

If you have Directv, you get a week long preview of NBA League Pass. Try justintv.

OJ Mayo really needs to take advantage of the Anthony Carter match up. He's off to a hot start already (knock on wood).

Oher's high school is one of my high school's biggest rivals. It's a good story but the movie looks cheesy as hell.

Yesterday was a great game to bring back our confidence. Beat Getafe 2-0 with ten players almost the entire game. Higuain and Kaka played out of their mind. Abiol's red was run of the worst calls I have ever seen. Geatafe lobs it across the field and Abiol grabs Soldado's jersey and it was a direct red. After that the whole crowd rallied against the ref instead of against the coach. The Real Madrid crowd is the hardest to please. If everything doesn't go to their liking and the team don't win every game the players and coach get whistled at.

Within the next two seasons, the Grizzlies will have to extend Marc and I think it would be a huge mistake if we don't give him the money he deserves. He's 24 years old and he's turning into one of the best centers in the league. Good big men get paid good money. Bynum is getting paid over $10 million a season and he hasn't proved he can stay healthy an entire season, although he has shown flashes of greatness. I personally believe it's more important to resign Marc than it is to resign Rudy Gay. The draft is full of athletic swing men every year. Gay is definably replaceable. Big men are harder to find. Knowing this front office well enough, they will ethier give Marc less than he deserves or just let him walk. Why? They decided to draft Hasheem Thabeet and believe he is the franchise's future at center. The problem is, Marc is only two years older than Thabeet and is 20x the player. Micheal Hiesley's and Chris Wallace's ego is too high to admit they made a mistake in drafting Thabeet when we already have Marc. With this said, how much is Marc Gasol worth?

I'm not getting coverage of this game even though I'd rather watch it before Texas @ Oklahoma State. I following the game through ESPN Gamecast.

I still don't really like the name, but I've gotten used to it.

Zach Randolph scores 30 as Grizzlies beat Raptors
La Bomba replied to La Bomba's topic in Memphis Grizzlies Team Forum
He gives effort in the offensive end. He was really fighting for offensive rebounds and trying to get contact last night. His defense is very mediocre. -
Tarick Black for next year down to five. Alabama Arkansas Memphis Marquett Tennessee

I went to this game. Funny because I was buying tickets for 5 dollars and while I was waiting for them to print, some guy just walks up to me and my friends and gives us four $99 tickets for free. Good game to watch last night. Marc Gasol was great again. He just works so hard on both sides and never quits. Randolph had thirty points but Bosh had a field day against him. Thabeet didn't play a minute I don't think. Why the hell did we draft this bum who isn't good enough play one minute. Send him to the D-League or trade him while his value is still somewhat high.

Randolph starting the entire season?
La Bomba replied to Real Deal's topic in Memphis Grizzlies Team Forum
He'll start every game this season. Thabeet sucks, period. Hammed Haddadi played more minutes then him last night and Arthur is out for four months and will take a while to adjust to return. Randolph is by far our best big man and possibly our best player. -
Marc Gasol goin crazy rite now!
La Bomba replied to kingfish's topic in Memphis Grizzlies Team Forum
I was at the game last night and he got a standing ovation. He's just working his [expletive] off every play and doesn't care about any bumps or bruises. The hard work in the summer is paying off. -
When did all these suspensions occur?
La Bomba replied to fish7718's topic in General NBA Discussion
Pretty sure J.R. Smith and Jason Richardson both had DUIs or some other traffic violation. And Carlos Delfino is definably a fake thug. -

This is just what I've been realizing last season and in the preseason. The first game affected my opinion as well though.

I love Mayo, he's my favorite player and there are probably less than 10 guys I would trade for him. With that said, I really don't understand all the "hype" behind his defense. Kobe and other guys from the USA team were extremely impressed with his defense, but I don't see why. He always struggles against those guys that are quick and move very well without the ball, such as Rip Hamilton. Yesterday, Hamilton and Gordan were penetrating past Mayo pretty easily. I just don't see where all the hype came out of. Last year he struggle, and he is this year as well. And I'm worried about his overall play as well. He's been struggling to find his shot in the preseason and he really struggled in his first game. I'm pretty confident he'll be back to his old self soon, but what I have seen so far is worrying.
