LOL at ESPN's 'soccer expertise' (last season). They were talking about Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo but they put up a picture of Brazil's Ronaldo Nazario ('The Phenomenon'): http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/217172_10100219167258953_6656889_n.jpg

LOS ANGELES -- Kobe Bryant said he was unhappy after being benched in the fourth quarter of the Los Angeles Lakers' 102-96 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies Sunday night, but he tempered his recounting of the event. "Of course I was!" - Bryant told reporters when asked if he was upset about the benching. The Lakers called timeout midway through the fourth quarter after falling down by double digits. During the timeout, Bryant elbowed a chair on the bench after the Lakers had allowed a three-point deficit to start the final period balloon into a 14-point cushion for Memphis with just 5:45 remaining. Bryant's frustration only seemed to grow when he was subbed out of the game in favor of Metta World Peace and remained out of the game until 1:51 remaining when he checked back in with the Lakers trailing by nine. (...) "I usually don't like to run him because he ends up playing a ton of minutes," Brown said. "He was at 38 (minutes), 27 (seconds) tonight but I don't like to run him a whole half if I can help it. If I can give him a minute or two here or there, then I will." Bryant benched briefly, unhappy Ain't seen Kobe that mad this season.

Amar'e, Lin questionable: GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin and power forward Amar'e Stoudemire are questionable for Monday night's game against the Milwaukee Bucks. Both players started experiencing pain in the third quarter during Saturday's 101-79 win over the Detroit Pistons. Lin was dealing with a sore right knee, while Stoudemire was suffering from stiffness in his back. On the season, Stoudemire has missed only two games due to an injury (a sprained left ankle suffered at the start of the season), and Lin has not missed a beat since his sudden rise that started on Feb. 4. This week marks a tough stretch for the Knicks. After facing the Bucks -- New York leads Milwaukee by 1½ games for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference -- the third-seeded Orlando Magic on Wednesday at home and the fifth-seeded Atlanta Hawks on the road Friday night. "No matter how you spent your weekend — playing the hungriest games, drinking with the maddest men, fighting the sinking pit-in-your-stomach feeling that comes with getting your taxes done, watching boatloads of college and pro hoops, whatever — if you're feeling out of sorts, overwhelmed, two steps slow, off-balance and beat this Monday morning, you can take solace in the fact that Marc Gasol knows how you feel. For his part, the Memphis Grizzlies center can also take solace in the fact that he's most definitely not the first cross-matched big man (or properly matched guard) that Chris Paul has made feel this way, that his Grizz scored a big road win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday to keep pace in the lower half of the Western Conference playoff race, and that no fewer than three people have told me they love him because of his tea party decorum. And you, friends? You can take solace in the knowledge that, as always, we remain committed to providing the sort of NBA coverage, highlights, analysis and videos of sweet crossovers you need to keep that desktop clock moving. Helping you waste your workday: That's the BDL promise." Marc Gasol knows how you feel on a Monday morning, thanks to Chris Paul

He made a promise. That's how much fulfilling it meant to him...

Joakim Noah Apologizes For Tossing Ball at Official DEERFIELD, Ill. -- Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah apologized to the officiating crew on Sunday afternoon after he was ejected during Saturday night's win over the Toronto Raptors for throwing the ball in referee Derrick Collins' direction. Noah will not be suspended, according to a league source. "That was wrong," Noah said. "I was frustrated at the call and I overreacted. "I just feel bad for what happened. I just want to apologize to the ref for coming at him like that. It was wrong of me; I was just frustrated and I just hope he reads this and accepts my apology." With 1:28 remaining in the second quarter, Noah was whistled for a call he did not agree and was almost instantly rung up for a technical foul. Shortly thereafter, he tossed the ball towards Collins and was whistled for his second technical foul. Tom Thibodeau, who expressed his frustration toward Noah's decision after Saturday's game, hinted that he and the young center discussed the incident on Sunday. Source
