How The NBA Turned Redder The Ever (Resurrected from the old OTR) Eleven years ago, only 4 teams had red road uniforms: the Clippers, the Hawks, the Bulls and the Heat. 4/29 = 13%. Nowadays the number of teams sporting red unis is more than three times bigger - thirteen (43%): 1.) Team Color Changes -- 6 teams: http://i41.tinypic.com/2yuhe68.jpg $ħã£ïq̵'s Random notes: The Pistons have had a red alternate even before the Grant Hill days: http://content.sportslogos.net/logos/6/223/thumbs/p7emeggytr49g0u6ha1aeam09.gifhttp://content.sportslogos.net/logos/6/223/thumbs/n3y6c3pd1eqakesi0vf8ewl49.gifhttp://content.sportslogos.net/logos/6/223/thumbs/wgg6ak459ntcs6qotf878elhi.gif Left to right: 1974 -'78 ; 1994 - '96 ; 1997 - '01 The Nets introduced their reds since the silver ones (and the blue ones) didn't go well with many (although I liked both). I miss the Clippers' blue alternates. Those black Sixers unis were sick! The Raps went red because of Canada. They turned all red-black-and-white (washed out purple) when they became the only Canadian team in the NBA, after the Grizzlies left Vancouver and moved to Memphis. I wonder would the Raptors have kept purple, if the Grizz had never left British Columbia? I think yes - they'd only use alternate red unis, IMO. And Raptors red works well if it's an alternate... but as a main one I don't dig. The purple one looked much better and... it was classic! The Raptors were the only NBA team to have a jersey with two entirely different sides (purple front & black back): http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/1096/tor3009ny5.th.gif Anyway, thirteen out of thirty, that's 43% - the highest percentage in this statistical cathegory: "predominant team color(s)". I guess three main colors for many sports teams are black, blue, and red... green, yellow, orange are rarely used colors. So it's gotta be because red sells. Red's the colour of love, speed, hotness, energy, anger and is good luck to the Chinese (that's why Rockets went red, 'cause of Yao! ) Uni thumbnails courtesy of: Sportslogos.net

Jason Smith's Flagrant Foul on Blake Griffin
Sħãlïq™ replied to ChosenOne's topic in Los Angeles Clippers Team Forum
Again, nobody but you is comparing dunks and fouls. It's about situations: Two free throws can be exactly the same. Two penalty kicks can be 100% identical. A play takes more. It was not the exact same situation and contact from Posey on Hinrich. NOTE to IllWill21: Not surprised you're doing this again. This is how you've been for years here, and you'll obviously never change. Sad. -
BOBBY SIMMONS RE-SIGNED BY CLIPPERS 3/24/12 The Los Angeles Clippers today re-signed free agent forward Bobby Simmons, whose second 10-day contract with the Clippers expired on March 18th. In 13 games played for the Clippers this season, Simmons has tallied 3.5 points and 2.7 rebounds per game, while shooting .371 from behind the three-point line. http://www.nba.com/clippers/news/bobby-simmons-re-signed-by-clippers-120324.html

Jason Smith's Flagrant Foul on Blake Griffin
Sħãlïq™ replied to ChosenOne's topic in Los Angeles Clippers Team Forum
Ain't nobody talkin' 'bout dunks here: Kobe went behind the back, Griffin didn't. Yeah, that's the "exact same situation". Just like the situation in Posey's foul was "exactly the same" as Smith's. "110% identical". "Twin plays". LOL! -

Notable Dates in Clippers History...

On This Date in Clippers History: -->>MARCH 24th<<-- Game 70: 111-105 vs. WSH (34-36, 8th West) http://www.nba.com/media/clippers/photoheader_WAS_070324.gif http://www.nba.com/media/clippers/WASLAC_070324_400B.jpg Corey Maggette recorded a season-high 29 points, including nine in the final two minutes, to propel the Clippers to a 111-105 triumph over the visiting Wizards on Saturday for their fourth straight win. Elton Brand tallied 18 points and 14 rebounds for Los Angeles, which moved a full game ahead of Golden State for the eighth playoff spot in the Western Conference. Chris Kaman had 17 points. -

Jason Smith's Flagrant Foul on Blake Griffin
Sħãlïq™ replied to ChosenOne's topic in Los Angeles Clippers Team Forum
^ I did. And I don't mean defending anyone here. I'm not a Griffin fan (the stat tracker topic is just so I could keep track of his double-doubles). Should Griffin flop - Hell No! Should Smith make flagrant fouls like that one - Hell No! I hate flopping, and I agree Griffin's flop could have mislead the refs it's worse than it was (it was still a Flagrant Foul 2 though), but then again - saying Posey's check on Hinrich is 'the exact same situation and contact', is like saying this Griffin situation below is the exact same one as Kobe's: -

Monta's gotta be one of the few people out there that could make the exact same facial expression two times, and fool you it's a jersey switch.

Yep, I hope so. Vincent Del Negro is a terrible coach... <_<

Del Negro: How Much Longer Does He Have?
Sħãlïq™ replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Los Angeles Clippers Team Forum
We’re still behind him," Blake Griffin said after he scored 21 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and was roughed up by Jason Smith, who was ejected from the game after he committed a flagrant foul 2 on the Clippers’ All-Star. "It’s not that. It’s us. It’s on me. I’ve got to find a way and we’ve got to find a way to put the fun back in it, the fun we had the first how many games and we were just going out and playing." Jason Smith's Flagrant Foul on Blake Griffin
Sħãlïq™ replied to ChosenOne's topic in Los Angeles Clippers Team Forum
Hinrich wasn't about to make a dunk. He wasn't even in mid-air. And also he wasn't running that fast. It is a similar situation, but like I said, it's not the 'Exact same situation'. -
