  1. Why am I not surprised Rubio just killed his team. He's so overrated.
  2. The 2009-'10 New Jersey Nets needed no less than 74(!) games to break the double-digit mark in wins. New Jersey reached win No. 10 of the season just two weeks before its end -- on March 29th 2010 (with a 90-84 home win over the Parker-less and Ginobili-less Spurs). The Nets eventually finished with a 12-70 record (.146) and solidified the "Worst NBA Team Ever" status for the 1972-'73 Philadelphia 76ers and their 9-73 mark (.110). This season, the Bobcats have lost a franchise-high 14th straight games. This leaves them at 3-24 (.111) at the moment. http://i43.tinypic.com/207aj3q.png With 39 games left in the regular season, do you think they'll finish with the NBA's worst winning pct. ever? To see how Charlotte compares, game by game, with the 1972-'73 Sixers go to: Worst NBA Teams Ever
  3. Word. Rubio was coldblooded in the final minute of the game!!
  4. Good for him but I hate him ever since his tap on ball in the 2010 FIFA World Cup play-off against Ireland. <_< I'm still mad. F%$#i'ng France stole Ireland's World Cup berth, only to get humiliated at the biggest stage. The whole world knew it's total injustice for France to be in South Africa... Thierry Henry = Epitome of UNFAIR Play. <_<
  5. :o My girl told me she had just seen it on TV and I was like: "Yeah, right! Nice try!" I really couldn't believe it for like 5 mins. Damn, still havin' trouble accepting the fact she's like... gone. Damn. I'm shocked. I didn't see that one coming.... RIP, Whitney.
  6. It was good to see the Clippers third unit play almost a full quarter. E-Bled came in in the 3rd. Brian Cook hit a trey! Trey Thompkins hit a trey, finished with 8 pts in 6 mins!! Even Travis Leslie got some PT!!
  7. Happy 7th OTR anniversary to Smitt-AY!! and (Ben)Jammin'.
  8. Bobcats' Maggette to start in place of Thomas vs. Clippers February 11, 2012 · 6:07PM The Bobcats will have a change to their starting lineup. Coach Paul Silas has decided to insert Corey Maggette back in the lineup after his return from injury and play Friday night. With Maggette in the lineup Tyrus Thomas moves to the bench and will back up Boris Diaw. Silas expects to give Maggette about 20 minutes of action. “When he’s out there, we’re a lot smoother as a club. He brings leadership qualities we don’t have,” Silas said. Charlotte could set a dubious mark tonight. The Bobcats have lost 13 in a row and a loss tonight would set the franchise record. The Bobcats are one of three NBA teams who currently have a winning percentage below .200 on the season. There have never been three teams in NBA history to finish with records below .200. Blake Griffin could have a big night against Charlotte. The Clippers forward will have a number of different defenders thrown at him Saturday night, but the Bobcats don’t have a true low-post defender who can effectively guard Griffin. He averaged 20.5 points and 12.5 rebounds in two victories over Charlotte last season. Chris Paul will have a homecoming of sorts tonight. The Clippers guard hails from Winston-Salem and attended Wake Forest, which is about 90 miles north of Charlotte. – By Derek S. Smith http://tbt.blogs.nba.com/2012/02/11/clippers-at-bobcats-7-p-m-et-2/
  9. Corey Maggette was back in action for the 'Cats after missing the last 19 games.
  10. Oops! I forgot to add the link. My bad: http://www.nba.com/history/features/this-date-jan/index.html
  11. I don't see anything wrong with following a player in a Stat Tracker thread. On OTR 1.0 we had like 15 board members doin' one. Plus, I've got a Maggette one too, and he's not even a Clipper any more. BTW, Griffin's by far NOT my favorite Clipper. I've got much more love for DeAndre, E-Bled, CP3, Chauncey, Reggie (Evans), Mo, Ryan Gomes.. even for Travis Leslie. Honestly, I just started the Griffin thread so I could keep track of his double-doubles. On to my "Most successful season ever" - yes, it actually is on pace to be just that. It's nothing but the truth. No exaggaration here. And you're still wrong about the so-called 'hypocrisy' you see. I ain't got different standards - I gave Lin credit, maybe you've missed it, but I did: Regarding the "It's hip to be a clip" thread -- it's a reporter's opinion that I re-posted. It only shows the fact that many people do think that the Clippers are indeed catchin' fiyah! I ain't really overhyping anything. I've been a Clippers fan for so long and I'm not gonna pass on when there's something really good to cheer for. Is there any reason not to? I will sure enjoy it whle it lasts. Quite honestly, it gives me one helluva reason to live another day. This ain't the team where you're so thankful when you get a win. Winning ain't an event anymore, it's becomig a must. Only a few years ago the Clippers were a dying, aging product and I had to invent things to be excited about (B-Diddy mentoring E-Bled, DJ and Blake's "from-the-bathtub through-the-window" hoops). Nowadays polls on NBA.com show how fans nationwide think the Clippers are the most entertaining team in the NBA! This franchise, maybe even during its few playoff years, hasn't been in this position before. This team's got what it takes to make not only various CONSISTENT playoff appearances, but can also go deep in the 'offs!! This team shows amazing spirit and heart! Reggie Evans is fighting for a rebound as if his life depended on it. I ain't saying it's the best Clippers team ever 'cause I never get to see 'em in Buffalo and never saw World B Free play, but it's gotta be one of the Top 5 Clipper teams all-time. No question about it. I'm having the time of my life as a Clippers fan again for the first time since LAC almost eliminated the Suns in West's Semis. I've never been this confident that the Clippers will make the playoffs. No If's, no But's. Of course, these Clippers are not perfect but this is the best team we've had! CP3 is the best PG this franchise has ever had. DJ is much better than Kaman. For some reason folks think Blake's the best thing that's ever happened to the franchise. I don't agree but I've also noticed that people focus more on his flaws and overlook the positives he brings. And I'm not 'placing my own squad in the same sinking boat'. The Clippers have playoff wins. And playoff series wins too. If your comment's regarding this current season -- no team's got playoff wins yet so.... Don't mention it. Heck, come to think about it, I was rooting for the Knicks back in the 1999 Finals. Latrell, Houston & Camby were among my favorite players. I got so mad when the Spurs won....
  12. Ghana faces Mali in the 3rd Place play-off today.
  13. The Tottenham Hotspurs are toying with Newcastle Utd. 4 goals in 34 mins. On pace to makke it 8:0!! 4' [1 - 0] B. Assou-Ekotto 6' [2 - 0] L. Saha 20' [3 - 0] L. Saha 34' [4 - 0] N. Kranjcar
  14. Game #26 -- February 10th, 2012 CHA vs. CHI 64-95 // (3-23), 15th East http://l.yimg.com/j/assets/p/sp/getty/26/fullj.96f8f5e5be3574f7dbfdc1989a16e868/96f8f5e5be3574f7dbfdc1989a16e868-getty-138693020.jpg Bobcats' FW Maggette, reacts to a call against the Chicago Bulls during their game at Time Warner Cable Arena. Corey Maggette returned to action after missing the last 19 games with a strained hamstring, but it wasn't enough on NASCAR Night as Charlotte fell, 95-64. Maggette who took the court for the first time since January 4th, had 4 points and 4 rebs (13:27 mins). // NOTE: Corey has now got 12,700 career pts.
  15. 2009-'10: Boom Dizzle's Game-Winner vs Boston Celtics (December 27th, 2009 // LAC - BOS 92:90) Baron Davis of the Los Angeles Clippers releases the game-winning shot just 0.01 before the buzzer, following two missed free throws by Rajon Rondo, as the Clippers stun the Boston Celtics, ending Boston's nine-game road winning streak.
  16. I'm not hyped. At least the Clippers are playoff-bound and 8 games above .500 in a conference where sub-500 teams don't earn a playoff berth. Hypocrisy has nothing to do with anything here. You on crack? And careful what you call people. I was rooting for the Knicks against the Celtics last year, BTW.
  17. Game #24, LAC @ PHI 78-77, (16-8, 3rd West) Clippers Edge Sixers in Philly http://i40.tinypic.com/2j3phqg.png Chris Paul had 24 points, including the game-winner with 3.2 seconds left, as the Clippers beat the 76ers 78-77 in Philadelphia on Friday night. Blake Griffin scored 16 with 11 rebounds and Mo Williams added 14 points off the bench. The Clippers play Charlotte on Saturday.
  18. ESPN's John Hollinger listed his 2011-'12 NBA Playoff Odds and lists Clippers' projected record as 40-26 (with best possible at 54-12 and worst possible at 25-41). According to him, that record would get the Clippers a No. 3 berth and a series vs Denver or Portland. The Lob Angeles Clippers are 8 games above .500 after roughly 1/3 of the season. They need to finish at +14 at the end of the season. Some of the upcoming games: 3 vs NOH (2H, 1A) 4 vs PHX (2H, 2A) 3 vs GSW (2H, 1A) 3 vs SAC (1H, 2A) And games against weak East opponents: @ CHA, WSH, @ NJ, and DET That's 18 games vs weaker opponents. The Clipset should go like 13-5 in those games (worst case). That leaves 12 more wins to come from the rest of the 25 games. Of those games Lob Angeles has 15 vs relatively good teams: 2 vs POR (1H, 1A) 1 vs UTA 2 vs DEN (1H, 1A) 3 vs MIN (1H, 2A) 2 vs ATL (1H, 1A) 2 vs HOU (1H, 1A) 2 vs MEM (1H, 1A) 1 vs IND (1A) 1 vs NYK (1A)
  19. I found this pic back in 2009 and it belongs here, IMO. Enjoy, Sixer fanz: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_tWRTPguW8G8/Saf3jzv4TqI/AAAAAAAABgI/-MT3taz13Cc/s1600-h/Preston_76ersWeb.jpg http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_tWRTPguW8G8/Saf3jzv4TqI/AAAAAAAABgI/-MT3taz13Cc/s1600-h/Preston_76ersWeb.jpg
