'Greetings from St. Kitts & Nevis' Kinda rusty. First drawing since 'Bahian Angel' (2008): http://i.imgur.com/7arXU.jpg Started this more than a month ago (before the London Olympics). Not having much time these days. Been staying up till like 5 AM almost every day to finish this by August 23rd (Kobe's birthday). Have slept a combined 10 hours or so over the last couple of weeks. My thoughts exactly - it HAS to be the Nets. Anything else wouldn't make sense.

Eduardo Najera is retiring from the NBA to become the head coach of the NBDL's Texas Legends Sources told ESPN.com that Najera, although he has no significant coaching experience, has accepted the offer from Dallas Mavericks president of basketball operations and Legends co-owner Donnie Nelson to take over from Del Harris as coach of the Mavs' D-League affiliate. Najera also will have an ownership stake in the Legends, sources say, and likewise receive a to-be-determined title working under Nelson in the Mavericks' front office. Sources say Harris, who turned 75 in June, will return to his original role as Legends general manager and also mentor Najera as the 36-year-old makes the transition to coaching. Selected by the Houston Rockets on the Mavericks' behalf with the 38th pick in the 2000 NBA draft, Najera played 12 seasons in the NBA, most recently with the Charlotte Bobcats. Najera was the first Mexican-born player to be drafted by an NBA team and will become the first Mexican-born coach in either the NBA or its developmental league. Source

Mavericks owner Cuban OK without D-Will, mad at Kidd Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban quickly moved on from the club's failed bid to land point guard Deron Williams. But he's holding a grudge against Jason Kidd, the championship point guard who surprisingly backed out on a deal to return and signed with the New York Knicks. Cuban, during an appearance Tuesday morning on ESPN Dallas 103.3 FM's "Ben & Skin Show," said the Mavs actually might be better off without Williams, the homegrown talent and three-time All-Star the Mavs hotly pursued in free agency. Cuban claimed a max contract for Williams would have created tricky salary-cap ramifications and made it difficult to build a championship-caliber roster around him and Mavs stalwart Dirk Nowitzki. "I don't want to pick on Deron Williams because he's a great, great, great player, and so it's not necessarily him, per se," Cuban said. "The conversation we had going back and forth -- and obviously the decision was to go for him -- but the conversation was, 'OK, once you add $17.1 million in salary to what we'd have with Dirk and Trix (Shawn Marion), then what do you do?' That's your squad. And it's not just your squad for this year. It's your squad for next year other than the $3.3 million mini midlevel. Source

Green Signs Multiyear Deal With Celtics
Sħãlïq™ replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Boston Celtics Team Forum
It's now official: The Boston Celtics announced Wednesday evening they have officially signed forward Jeff Green, ending more than a month of speculation over his contract status. Boston and Green have had a handshake agreement in place since mid-July, but nothing became official until Wednesday. Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge and Green's agent, David Falk, maintained during the lengthy delay that the deal eventually would get done, but wouldn't shed light on what was holding up the process. "We are thrilled to have Jeff back with the Celtics," Ainge said in a statement on the Celtics' official website. "Jeff's versatility on offense and ability to guard players out on the perimeter is something that we are looking forward to having on the court this season." Jeff Green's Celtics deal is official -
Chris Paul has successful surgery on thumb LOS ANGELES -- Clippers All-Star point guard Chris Paul underwent successful surgery Tuesday to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb, the team announced. Paul's injury occurred last month during Team USA training camp in Las Vegas. The surgery was performed by hand specialist Dr. Steven Shin at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles. "(The surgery) was something we wanted him to get done now so it doesn't bother him later," Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro told the team website. "He'll be back before the start of the season." Paul is expected to be sidelined for approximately eight weeks, which would mean he would miss most of training camp and the preseason but could return for the Clippers' opener Oct. 31 against Memphis. Paul helped lead Team USA to the gold medal at the Olympics. He started all eight games in London, averaging 8.3 points, 5.1 assists, 2.5 steals and 25.8 minutes per game. http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/story/_/id/8290162/los-angeles-clippers-chris-paul-successful-surgery-right-thumb

NBA OFFSEASON REPORT CARDS: Part I, Part II, Part III.

Grade: A http://www.sheridanhoops.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/clippers60.jpg http://www.sheridanhoops.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/Grant-Hill-Clippers.jpg Grant Hill, part of a very deep 2012-13 LA Clippers team LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS – I received some well-deserved grief for not believing in them last season, although I said that before they claimed Chauncey Billups and signed Reggie Evans and Kenyon Martin. Regardless, I acknowledge the bad call. They had one malcontent last season, and Mo Williams is outta there. Nick Young didn’t last long either. Jamal Crawford is twice the player as either of those guys, Grant Hill and Lamar Odom are the other big newcomers, we’ve just learned that Billups is ahead of schedule in his recovery from an Achilles injury, and Chris Paul and Blake Griffin are expected to be ready for Opening Night after both underwent offseason surgery. They are in the debate for best 1 through 10 lineup, and they’ll win at least 60 if they stay healthy. More importantly, they have vets who will be playoff performers. DeAndre Jordan, Ronny Turiaf and Ryan Hollins give them 18 fouls to use against Dwight. Full Analysis

Is Kevin Love a franchise player?
Sħãlïq™ replied to The Regime's topic in Minnesota Timberwolves Team Forum
I had that doubt. And while Love may not yet be a franchise player, he sure's got the potential to turn into one in the future. -

Favorite Samuel L. Jackson Movie? http://smhttp.14409.nexcesscdn.net/806D5E/wordpress-L/images/samjackson1.jpg 'Die Hard: With a Vengeance' was good but I consider it more of a Bruce Willis movie. So it's a tie between 'Unbreakable' and 'Sphere'. 'Jackie Brown', and 'Coach Carter' get my honorable mention nod.

http://i.imgur.com/PEW5l.png It's a shame that scene's not on YouTube... PS: http://i.imgur.com/4jQiH.png ^ Reminds me of Gasol -- it's funny how his first name (pau) means 'penis' here in Brazil. And there was this CNN reporter - Pedro Pinto.. Portuguese's gotta be one of the most retarded languages ever.
