People seem to underrate Fisher's game so much that they forget L.A. has arguably the best front-court in the NBA; Artest, Bynum, and Gasol can surely make up for any defensive lapses Fisher has. Fisher's overall game is a better fit to start on this L.A team but Gilly could be a serviceable 6th man in spurts here an there.

Personally I think LeBron realizes how much effort Dan put into building a team around him; proof of that is how abysmal the team performed without their centerpiece. IMHO he would have never been able to appreciate any of Gilberts effort until he stepped away.
