  1. "Morally wrong" is not the appropriate term because he barely said anything. Again, his "opinion" was not the problem, it was his wordage. It was moronic. He should care about being a moron, definitely. This is getting redundant. I didn't answer your question because it is so far off the topic, but fine: Completely different forums. Wade was speaking to the media in a formal setting. South Park is a deliberately controversial TV show that is meant to entertain. Not related. You are stretching a small issue into a topic that is far too broad, Poe. Chill.
  2. Tough to argue Peterson's case after last season, but I still think he's the superior, more impactful back that's better suited to carry a team.
  3. No you don't Gyula, those guys have proportionate arms.
  4. Dude you are thinking too hard and folding a misspoken statement into too many different directions. Wade's "opinion" (not really even an opinion) wasn't the problem here; we all understand what he was trying to convey when he said it, it's just his ill-advised 9/11 comparison.
  5. There are no side connections. You said earlier that you see nothing wrong with making comparisons with any two things, so I am making a comparison with two things. It's not even free speech that's the problem, it's the wordage.
  6. Poe, have you ever had someone die in your family? If I said to you "For the Heat, LeBron going down for the season would almost be as bad as that time Poe lost his ______.", would you not be offended? Do you understand why you should have a social filter and moral qualms about what you say?
  7. Playing video games occasionally is not "stopping", so no.
  8. I get the point and I am not offended, but it's just not very smart to compare 9/11 in any context, especially sports. Wade misspoke. It's why he apologized for it. Case closed.
  9. Interesting scenario. Situation A is more appealing to watch as a fan, but if my team's fate is already determined beforehand, I'd prefer Situation B just because it's more practical and conducive to winning a title (ultimate/only goal) in the long run.
  10. He should have full control over every move that Billy King makes.
  11. lmao The rest of New Jersey's cap space is going to be sapped by mediocre players.
  12. I guess there is no such thing as untradeable. Get moving, Stefanski.
  13. I called my friend who's a Heat 'fan' a bandwagoner, and he said he wasn't because he liked Miami since '06.
  14. His soft touch is probably too soft, and he has no handle. I'd say he's rated right. Thad's teammate Marreese Speights is much better suited for this thread. He gets criticized so much for what he doesn't do, but he can score in every way. Like Stoudemire with less athleticism and more finesse.
  15. Because overpaying Outlaw is less costly than overpaying Amar'e or Boozer.
  16. (Appropriate) Instincts are shaped by your IQ. So that.
  17. Two hours? What are you supposed to do with the other hour and 59 minutes? A easily.
  18. I know there's a desire to win and all that, but just how gratifying will it be on a team like this?
  19. You strive for excellence, but comparing every record to classics is just not a fair method of evaluation. While you still want to emulate the quality of those benchmark albums, if you're holding everything up to that standard, then everything you listen to will be trash. Still a vague answer. You''re just referencing records.. What about Illmatic makes it good? Are you saying all hip hop should be modeled after Illmatic? How do you determine whether a track is good or nott? What about the rhyme schemes, instrumentals, etc.? What constitutes good rap? This is what he said about Relapse: Is that not a believable description on why he liked Relapse and thought it was good? You don't seem to be able to grasp the fact that people interpret things differently. That the analysis and interpretation of music is very arbitrary and subjective. You look at music as a static concept with a rigid perspective; i.e.: "Oh that album was bad because it didn't meet my qualifications and it is absolutely impossible that I am wrong about this; therefore, if you think different then you are wrong and you know nothing about hip hop." While I agree with you that Relapse was not good, I'm still willing to respect other opinions, especially if they're ingenuous and insightful like the article.
  20. I want his contract gone; it has nothing to do with Turner.
  21. Pending free agency, it's the Northwest easily for me. Even if New York and New Jersey hog all the free agents, all but one team in the Northwest has a realistic chance. And BFT: good post, but yes you can rule Philly out.
