  1. The market should have absolutely no influence when evaluating players; they have no control over that, whereas winning should be weighted in, but to a point. Is that player contributing a maximum effort, and how conducive is it to winning? How integral is that player to his team's success? Would that player have achieved this much if not for his supporting cast? These types of probing questions should always be asked.
  2. Rose is making it hard for me to defend him, but I honestly believe he has elite point guard potential. Evans will be a star, but I really don't see first tier superstar potential in him.
  3. LeBron right now is playing at a level that Durant is going to peak at. We haven't even seen LeBron's ceiling yet.
  4. It's not that dude, I genuinely adore that entire album. The whole record is quality, and every track on it could probably make it on my best songs of the year list. No lie.
  5. Offensive line blows. I hope everyone that overrates our line watched this game, because it hasn't been much better all season. I said that the first seed was back in play, and it still is. New Orleans has to lose their remaining games, and we have to win ours. It's improbable, but possible. Yes, but it's no excuse for all those missed tackles. Even our surest tackler (Winfield) was whiffing on some. BTW, we need to scrap Leslie Frazier and the Cover 2 forever.
  6. I believe it. But I wish he wouldn't need the motivation from the media to play his [expletive] off — he should always be.
  7. Can we get a [expletive]ing tight end on Peppers' side?
  8. Holy [expletive] Roethlisberger has balls of steel. Tosses the game-winning touchdown on top of a 503-yard performance.
  9. LeBron, with Durant probably looming behind.
  10. Brett Favre, cold weather, outdoor game. Expletive.
  11. I've always felt that discrediting a player based on the level of his teammates was a weak way of comparing players, and even more so in this case because both of these quarterbacks have their share of weapons. Give me Rodgers. Elite arm, improving mechanics, and best of all, he's consistent. Harp on his flaws (tendency to hold the ball), but he's tough, and the fact that he's been able to deliver all season with that leaky offensive line is mighty impressive. I love Romo's improvisational skills and pocket elusiveness, but he can't carry his offense the way that Rodgers can.
  12. There's no way Dallas blows this, right?
  13. Don't worry, the officials won't let New Orleans down.
  14. You rolled your eyes and (erroneously) corrected my description of the sequence, and I corrected your incorrection. Kobe gathered his dribble when he picked up the ball, not his shot. I never said anything about the specifications for a blocking foul. Please find me the exact rule that says that. Not your interpretation of the rule, but the actual rule. Impressive. I've learned more from five minutes on Google than you have through years of basketball camp. Both questions are irrelevant, but probably because either those bigs didn't have position, there was too much contact, or the shot-taker was named Kobe Bryant. Here's what the website says: And I'm sure you can find an answer here: http://www.nba.com/videorulebook/category.html?cid=35 http://www.nba.com/videorulebook/category.html?cid=36 From what I understand, legal position is established when both feet are on the ground. After the position is established, you're allowed to move. It's too vague to pinpoint anything, but I probably should've specified that I wasn't talking about this situation, but rather other times when defenders shuffle to the spot in hopes of drawing a charge. That's often what you see in games, and you have it confused with this. It's consistently called a blocking foul when it's a blatant blocking foul, or there's a tie (from what I've seen). This one was neither. By the way, I just discovered this Video Rule Book at NBA.com, and it's great. http://www.nba.com/videorulebook/category.html?cid=28 That should clear it up for good.
  15. Outside of this site, even Lakers fans have admitted that it was a charge.
  16. I thought you were done? Kobe picked up the ball to start his spin move, he didn't gather his shot until the fourth frame. What exactly is your post trying to disprove? You're not saying anything new here. We've established that Bogut was moving, but we've also established that he had position.
  17. I assure you that those clips wouldn't negate anything. Post them here if you'd like, and I'll be glad to point out the differences. I only used the Battier video because it was the easiest I could find that showed examples of textbook charges.
  18. This is getting embarrassing. ... No it's not. It's saying the player can move as much as he pleases to maintain legal position. Read again: Legal guarding position was already established, hence he was able to legally move to draw a charge. http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/2605/frame1c.jpg Feet are both down. There's your logic. Please stop. Bogut didn't move to get in front of Bryant, he was already there. Are you purposely being dense here? Just imagining what you want to see? Look again, closely. Closely. http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/2605/frame1c.jpg Kobe hasn't even gathered his shot yet. It's a charge. You're wrong. Cute post to save face. I showed you the official rulebook, I cited the exact sections that clearly stated the rule, and I posted close-up pictures to further prove my point. You tried (and failed) to manipulate the text to favor your argument, and you also referenced personal experiences to disprove official rules. You can continue to patronize and take your shots at me but it doesn't hide the fact that you're wrong. You're wrong. I found this quote particularly amusing. I rebutted every one of your points, and you hopped along the debate only replying selectively to convenient portions of every post. It's like that in every debate with you. I'll tell you this now: I'm wrong about a lot of things, but the difference is that I can admit it in the end. And I think it's only right that I believe I'm right when I'm arguing, otherwise... wtf is the point? Also, you're wrong.
  19. http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/2605/frame1c.jpg It doesn't get clearer than that. Bogut moved... because Kobe moved. It's done. You're grasping at straws now. You're wrong. You're wrong. You're wrong. You're wrong. You're wrong. You're wrong. You're wrong. You're wrong. http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/2605/frame1c.jpg http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/2605/frame1c.jpg http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/2605/frame1c.jpg http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/2605/frame1c.jpg You're wrong.
  20. And also, he was shot last season. By a gun. In the span of one year, Landry has gone through enough to launch a successful rap career.
  21. It has always been called that way. Always. Look at the Battier clip where there's at least three instances of him moving his feet, but still drawing a charge. Unless we're factoring the fact that he's Kobe Bryant. If so, then there was no travel, and it's an obvious foul on Bogut.
