  2. I obviously have a few disagreements, but nothing significant. Good list, well-written and very informative.
  3. I've got them placing 9th or 10th. Brandon was spot on about the personnel problems. The Rockets are completely devoid of a legitimate scoring threat and playmaker. That reeks of lottery. I think they'll be a distant challenger in the race for the 8th seed by virtue of their heart alone. But they'll experience heart failure and Phoenix will make it over them.
  4. Last I checked, Sam Mitchell was fired a year later. In fact, most of the COTY winners received a similar fate. Moot point. I'm not one to compare and contrast respective casts as an argument, but compared to Bosh's personnel, it absolutely has to be mentioned. For Boozer, it's a grand luxury to play under a genius head coach that employs an offensive system that puts him in advantageous positions and gives him optimal looks and touches. On top of that, Williams is one of the league's premier distributors, and the rest of the supporting cast is well above average. There is no question that Boozer's production is being maximized. Bosh not so much. I never implied that Deron created most of Boozer's points for him. I said that Deron makes Boozer's life considerably easier, which he does. Applause on the straw man, though. Oh, wow. Seventh in the league at And1s. Opponents don't have to push Boozer around to score on him because he provides zero resistance anyways. You keep fellating him and his strength, but other than boxing out, have you ever seen him actually make use of it defensively? In Bosh, you at least get someone who actively tries, with tremendous quickness to adequately guard the perimeter and make faster rotations. He's got pretty good length too.
  5. Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C. It's a cardinal rule when posting anything more than two paragraphs.
  6. Andre and Thad's jerseys are outdated. The Sixers don't wear those anymore. Do you want pictures? /thorn in your side
  7. The same Chris Paul that had his lunch money stolen by one of the league's biggest scrubs. At least guys like Deron and Rondo—players who are both better than Paul precisely because Paul was shut down by Dahntay Jones, and only Dahntay Jones—come through in the playoffs. Those poor playoff series are an irreparable stain on NBA players. From those atrocious postseason outings, we can come to wild (but irrefutable) conclusions, especially if it happened three years ago. --- Do you see how bizarre that sounds? That's you. At least Boozer has a stable head coach, as in, one of the greatest offensive minds in NBA history. At least Boozer has arguably the league's best point guard setting him up. At least Boozer has an adequate supporting cast. Bosh is considerably better at defense. He puts up an effort; Boozer doesn't even try. Anyone who is not wrong can attest to that. And besides a broader skill set in the low post and stronger finishing, what does Boozer do better on offense? Seriously. Boozer's efficiency inside and his rebounding might be the only positives in his game. And he's not special enough in either aspect to offset Bosh's advantage at virtually everything else. That's the truth.
  8. Quick, tell me how many players are better than Chris "Property of Dahntay Jones" Paul. BFT and Jer, good job on the debunking. It really wouldn't have affected my decision either way, because every player in NBA history has invariably had at least one bad playoff series. Bosh can take a mulligan.
  9. Seriously? Are you really drawing back to one poor series from two years ago against one of the best defensive bigs to form such a big opinion?
  10. This is the perfect situation for him. He doesn't have the tact to ever be a competent head coach, but as an assistant he'd be wonderful. Especially on a such a young team where his mentoring and motivation skills would be invaluable.
  11. I'm not sure Boozer is even better at that. Bosh is at least mediocre defensively; I don't think there's a word to describe how bad Boozer is at defense. 'Terrible' would be an insult to guys like Nash.
  12. The only problem is that you forgot to post Pittsburgh vs. Minnesota on February 7th. But really, is there any way to remove the NFL Gameday topics from the active topics search? It ate that function up.
  13. He ran, financed, and participated in the dog fighting operation — that's some serious felony sh-t. He would've served time regardless of his name. I hope he can revive his career, but he most certainly deserved what he got.
  14. Look no further than Jefferson's tendency to mishandle double teams. He's still a little behind when it comes to understanding defenses. And I'm positive that his atrocious defense stems from a lack of fundamentals more than anything, in the same vein as Stoudemire.
  15. It's not like there's a quantifiable metric for it. The list was made from my own personal observations. Bogut passes the eye test. Shaq is a good choice, but he doesn't capture the essence of 'intelligent' as well as Bogut. Probably because Shaq he's almost entirely about brawn and talent. Jefferson isn't there yet. He's in another realm of talent from Bogut; but his basketball smarts are still a bit suspect. Nash might have the highest basketball IQ in the NBA. Paul is a very cerebral player in his own right, but Nash is next level [expletive].
  16. You do realize that this topic is exclusively about basketball smarts, right?
  17. PG - Nash SG - Kobe SF - Battier PF - Duncan C - Yao Second Team: PG - Kidd SG - Allen SF - LeBron PF - Gasol C - Bogut
  18. Yeah I understand, it's just that having your team called a loser in the offseason for making a fiscally responsible decision is a little off-putting. Semantics problem.
  19. How about Kobe guarding Kobe on the last shot? Can I do that? I contend that he's a bit overrated on defense, but on one possession, with him exerting maximum effort, I might actually prefer him over everyone.
  20. He also didn't shake hands with Boston in '08. So... yes, it's possible.
  21. He's got the tripping part down. My God, I'm going to miss Bowen. I don't care, I loved watching him play defense.
