I think Orlando intends to keep Lewis at the 4, so Bass is the sixth man for now. I'm a bit partial to Gortat's tenacity and size for Orlando's frontline, but assuming they don't match Dallas' offer, this isn't a bad tradeoff at all.

For the most part I agree with your assessment, but I'd like to add that while Shaq is a pretty poor defender now, he's better than the immobile stiff that is Ilgauskas. I still foresee problems defending the PNR, but their prospects against Orlando have improved vastly.
