[Completed] NBA's greatest small forward?
YugoRocketsFan replied to Real Deal's topic in General NBA Discussion
He has good players but not that second all-star (although I think Jamison is quickly fitting into that role. I also dont have a favorite player, or one that stands out to me in person. -
He has the necessary skillset and height to succeed. He has also performed well vs good teams.

Kobe is about to be 32, so there is still at least 3-4 years of him playing.
-
Finals MVPs are still an important note of who performed the best in the biggest stage of the game, the NBA finals. Paul Pierce won it because he was being guarded by Radmanovic, the Celtics obviously knew that Kobe couldn't defend both Ray Allen and Paul Pierce so they just fed their perimeter players. Regardless of who you are guarded by, Shaq still performed very well, and as you mentioned did abuse Mutombo, Kobe still could have at least won 1 finals MVP, but Shaq still was the leader of the team. I am not saying Kobe was a role player but I am saying he was still 2nd fiddle, regardless of his production and how well he did, he still was 2nd fiddle. Shaq was the man on that team. Edit: My post sounds so contradictory LOL.

Good post. Kobe was quite a factor in the dynasty but he wasnt as much as people make it seem, he was definitely a good second man but people make it seem like he won those championships for the Lakers He did underperform, but the series vs the Magic, he performed well His FG% isnt in terms with the all-time greats, hes been a mid to low 40% shooter, so he does have a point, he does rely on his jumpshot too much. Kobe's slashing wasnt as good as Jordan's.

Super hater? He has plenty of good points why Kobe is overrated, not that he is [expletive] or not a top 3 player. Kobe wasnt equally as important as Shaq either, thats overrating him, Shaq won all 3 of the finals MVPs. He did regard all of Kobe's accomplishments, but he shows that compared to MJ, he just didnt get enough of them. There is a reason that he put Laker fans should read with an open mind because people like you jump to conclusions that hes a hater.
