Ok so last night I was thinking about how [expletive]ing stupid the premise for this thread is and how wrong you are(not a surprise, you're always wrong ecn). you say "looking at the starting lineups", but not just the starting lineups. do you really think the 92 dream team was shallow and couldn't make adjustments? Scottie Pippen, one of the greatest defenders of all time, is a bench player on the dream team. I'm pretty sure he could matchup with LeBron. David Robinson and Karl Malone are bigs that can come off the bench. Do you really think LeBron or Rose are getting to the basket with a lineup of Robinson/ Malone/Pippen/Drexler/Jordan? You could put Jordan on Rose, and he goes nowhere. The 92 dream team consists of hall of famers while the 2012 team has only 2 guaranteed hall of famers. Fact of the matter is if you take the entire roster, the 1992 dream team is far superior, and it isn't even close.

my friend has a huge golden retriever that still acts like a baby. when you walk in his house, he just jumps all over you and shit. if he wasn't so [expletive]ing big it would be okay, but this dog is huge! when one of our mutual friends is over, the dog goes apeshit when he sees him, probably because he picks up the scent of his female dog on him. apparently when my friend's sister visits, she brings her dogs with and he behaves because the older dogs play with him and put him in order

do you even know any history behind the national anthem? it hasn't even been our national anthem for 100 years. it wasn't always played at every sporting event either, just reserved for special baseball games.

I like how you guys say I must not like America because I think the national anthem really isn't needed at domestic sporting events how many other countries play it before every event? why don't we sing it when going to wal mart? that is an american institution. we should sing it after we check out

lol at both responses. you do realize how much over the top nationalism we have in this country? i mean if they wanted to sing the song properly, it'd be fine. but the fact that no one can just sing the song and get it over with makes it painful as hell. in regards to respect, it is important to realize that the more this song is played at EVERY event, the less special/significant it becomes. i mean in all reality, it comes on, and you just stand there for a couple of minutes waiting for it to be over so the game can finally start. don't lie, you know its true. during the nba finals, i'm sure you've changed the channel or waited on purpose to tune into the game.

Opening Day? Understood World Series? Understood Super Bowl? Understood But a game with no one at the stadium between two last place teams with a 5 minute rendition? No I really don't understand the need to perform it at every event and so slowly. If anything, just do it like they do in national soccer games: play a fast paced instrumental of it and let the players/fans sing along if they want. It usually sounds MUCH better than the 5 minute long version sung by last year's American Idol winner. It works at most college games: the marching band just plays it and the crowd sings along if they want to. Lasts about 45 seconds at most. But it isn't necessary for anything. What's next? Are we going to sing it before a pickup game at the park? The guy that doesn't get picked has to sing the national anthem before the game starts.

Well aware of the response, just saying that this isn't the type of response the commissioner of the league should be giving. He should give an emphatic no and move on from it. He brought up good points where he says there is an angle for it to be fixed no matter who ends up winning, so why come off as a jackass in the interview?
