Yes it would. I hope the Yankees lose. The Yankees are a bunch of overpaid prima-donas.

This is arguably the biggest regular season football game of the year. Favre's return to Lambeau. If your a Minnesota fan wouldn't you be upset if both of these were on the same night? Imagine this were the Eagles and Phillies. A playoff game for the Phillies which decides if they get in or not. Now let's hypothetically say McNabb signed with the Cowboys this past offseason and it's his first visit to Philly as a Cowboy. It makes sense for Minnesota. Both are must see games

http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/6714/romogettingowned.jpg Great game. It was good to see Dawkins dominate the Cowboys like he always does. I really missed him watching this game. Cowboys got owned. 2-2

Yeah anyone who is a neutral fan should root for Detroit. That city needs it really bad. And I agree with Adrian, that story was awesome about how the city has rallied around the Tigers in these tough economic times.

Erick Blasco's Top 30 NBA Small Forwards
Diesel replied to Erick Blasco's topic in General NBA Discussion
Thaddeus at 21 = WHAT? He should be in the low teens. He's definetly a better player than a lot of those guys ahead of him such as Pietrus, Gay, Marion, Ariza. -
Erick Blasco's Top 30 NBA Power Forwards
Diesel replied to Erick Blasco's topic in General NBA Discussion
So just because Gasol has been on a championship team means he is more suited for carrying a team? I'm sorry, but that is bullcrap. The reason Gasol looks so much better this year is because he's on a better team where he isn't the focal point of the defense. He has other 7 footers in the frontcourt defensively to give the Lakers length everywhere. When team's go over gameplans for the Lakers the number one, number two, and number three most important points are Kobe Bryant. Please. Give Dirk Kobe Bryant and see how much that opens up his game. Dirk would see a ton more looks from downtown where he would greatly benefit. His touch around the basket is underrated as well. You seem to be implying that Dirk shy's away from contact too which is definitely not the case. He got the the FT line 6.7 times per game compared to Gasol's 5.4 attempts per game. And LMAO @ Dirk getting shut down by Chris Anderson in Games 1 and 3. In that case Gasol get's shut down every game. Game 1: 28 Points, 12/22 Shooting, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 turnovers Game 3: 33 points, 11/20 shooting, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 turnovers What terrible games I must say. Still wondering why they are the examples shown as each of those games is more impressive than any one game Gasol had in the postseason. Scottie Pippen, John Stockton are both HOFers. Pippen even led the Bulls to 55 wins even after Jordan retired which is remarkable. I don't think Gasol could do the same with the Lakers if Kobe took this season off and if you can find me a Laker fan that thinks so be my guest. Parker can be a better player than Duncan on some nights and shown that as he won Finals MVP a few years ago. Gasol isn't anywhere near any of those guys as far as impact or being option number 1. And even though Dirk hasn't won a championship he has been relatively successfull as the first option. When comparing players you can't judge everything on titles especially when the one guy had the best player in the world on his team while Dirk's best teammate in recent years has been Josh Howard who completely takes the game for granted. The fact that Dirk has led the team to 50 win season with one franchise is remarkable in it's own right. It isn't easy to keep that kind of consistency in the NBA. I'm not sure how many other players did that, but the list can't be too long. And oh really Gasol would do all of those things? Considering here are his averages against those exact teams Miami:18.5 PPG 45% shooting Suns: 14.3 PPG 43% shooting Spurs: 21.3 PPG 57% shooting Good vs Spurs, OK vs Miami, bad versus Suns. And this was the Miami team that wasn't hot as it was in the playoffs when Dirk ran into them. A completely different team. I followed that team big time so I can tell you that. Compare those numbers against the Suns and SPurs to Dirks..... In the playoffs Spurs: 27.1 PPG 53% shooting Suns: 28.0 PPG 46% shooting And yes it wasn't last year's Gasol, but he averaged more Points, and assists and still shot 50% over the field. Offensively he's relatively the same player. He actually got into more contact offensively in that year getting to the line 617 times in 80 games while only getting to the line 439 in 81 games. So Gasol suddenly turned into an amazing offensive player over that same off-season? He is the same player except his defense improved. The same Gasol got owned by Duncan. Dirk had to face a plethora of defenders during that playoff run. He was faced with Bruce Bowen, Mike Finley, Shawn Marion, Duncan at points, Hakim Warrick, Gasol, Haslem, Posey, and yes even a little bit of Tim Thomas lol even though Marion was the main guy he faced on the Suns. The reason's why Dirk(or the team) has failed when he doesn't come up is because for the past few years Dirk has had so much responsiblity on that team offensively. He led the league in Win Shares for three straight years from 2005-2007. A Grizzlies team led by a guy you percieve as better than him might I add. And I'm not sure where the idea about the Spurs being cripped comes from. They were crippled this past playoff postseason. In 2006 though they were the favorites to come out of the West and win that series vs Dallas. Duncan looked fine averaging about 32 PPG. Ginobili was back for the postseason. The Spurs were still favoirtes in that series. -
Great defense in this game. It was incredible as it raped the fast paced Carolina team. I'm not going to slobber over Emery like everyone else is though. He didn't face many shots at all and was very lucky that two great attempts went off the post. He did good though. Defense certainly helped him out a lot. Quality start to the season.

Are the 82-83 Sixers a top 3 team of all-time?
Diesel replied to Diesel's topic in Philadelphia 76ers Team Forum
Shaq and Kobe are great, but when you see all the talent those 80's teams had I don't think teams today can even compare with all of the expansion drafts. After Shaq and Kobe it's a huge drop off. With the Sixers there was Moses Malone, Doc, Toney, B. Jones, Mo Cheeks all who were playing at an all-star level. I just don't see it. I don't think a team in today's era will ever compare to those teams in the past. Jordan's Bulls were a rarity and happened just as all of the expansion teams were starting. And yeah Toney is one of the most underappreciated players in NBA History. I've read some books about the Sixer teams in the 80's and he was a player that always showed up against the top teams in the league. He would play his best games against the top competition. In his prime he could've easily got a PPG average in the high 20's at least. Guy who could get any shot he wanted. He was just playing on a stacked team though so he never shined as much as he could've. He even went out to the playgrounds in Philly to play ball along with Clint Richardson so he was really down to earth and I'm sure your Laker mod did play with him. -
Are the 82-83 Sixers a top 3 team of all-time?
Diesel replied to Diesel's topic in Philadelphia 76ers Team Forum
Fair enough, but I think the Sixers would give that team troubles. I am 100% sure Moses Malone would dominate a 35 year old Wilt in the Finals that year similar to the way he abused 35 year old Kareem in the NBA Finals. Wilt was a great defensive force in that era, but he would stand no chance against Moses. West, Goodrich, and McMilian or the Doc, Mo Cheeks, Toney is tough too and I think they wash each other out. I believe there were more quality teams in the league in the early 80's as well versus the early 70's when the league was specifially dominated by Kareem's Bucks, the Celtics, and the Lakers. There were more bottom feeders in that time which led to the Lakers racking up all those regular season wins. 7/17 of the leagues teams won less than 40% of their games. When they played some actual competition though it is clear the Sixers were more dominant. -
Wow sick sig dude. Do you mind if I use it? Werth is my favorite baseball player lol

10 best individual statistics seasons of the last decade
Diesel replied to Diesel's topic in General NBA Discussion
Here's how I would rank them since I am stuck sitting here right now. Of course if I'm including the rule where a player can be used once. 1. Shaq(99-00) 2. LeBron(08-09) 3. KG 4. Duncan 5. Wade I basically agree with the top 5 although I would switch LeBron and Shaq 6. Kobe 7. T-Mac 8. Dwight 9. Chris Paul 10. Dirk That's how I'd round it out. Some minor changes, but relatively a similar list to the one by the author. -
Just curious, but why is this banned around the league? It's not like it gives anyone an advantage. It should be the team's responsibility to make sure their players arn't doing useless crap like twittering during the games.
-
Link I just want to know how Joakim Noah got on the list lol. That is so random.
-
I say yes. C- Moses Malone F- Marc Iavoroni F- Dr. J G- Andrew Toney G- Maurice Cheeks Bench: Bobby Jones, Clint Richardson, Clemon Johnson Bobby Jones was one of the best defensive players ever. Toney probably could've averaged 30 PPG on a bad team if he really wanted to. Mo Cheeks was a great point guard. And everyone knows Moses and the Doc. Sure Iavoroni was one of the worst starters on a title team ever, but he wasn't much worse than Kurt Rambis lolz. Fo, Fi, Fo in the playoffs. This team was amazing. Their right up there with Bird's 86 Celtics and the 96 Bulls.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgcekM0k-4g Look at that guy shutting down future NBA Superstar Kobe Bryant at the time. Kobe's team also lost by 20+ in this game apparently it won them the game.

Elementary. Everyone was chill with eachother. And it was the best days. I had so much fun with my family durin that time period just doing dumb things. Even if I do the same things now it isn't nearly the same. Such a carefree time and it seemed like anything was possible. I would also have set myself up for the future more now that I know certain things and probably would've picked up playing basketball really young so I could rape now.
-
Hmm this is weird. I don't see "change team rep to Bulls" as an option.

Yeah Smitty I was doing some defensive back drills at one point to try and help. I like Real Deal's drill though as it incorporates the hands as well. I'm going to do a little of both though. And I would play tennis, but I really have no idea where I would play. Does Racquetball count lol? Thanks guys appreciate the input
-
Haha never heard of that. Unfortunately I sold my DDR pad along with the game for my PS2 last year as I was hardly ever using it. That's a cool idea though. I guess it's similar to jump roping in that regard. My legs are pretty strong the way they are, but I'm not the quickest guy. Thanks for the idea

Anyone got any drills you can do by your self to improve your defense(specifically perimeter defense) or just tips in general. I already got some stuff in mind, but I'm curious what you guys say.
