Debunking the Myth that Bill Russell was overrated
Diesel replied to Revis Island's topic in General NBA Discussion
Because Bill Russell played when there was only 8 teams. Jordan played in a league that had about 28 or so. Here's another though. Bill Russell's 59 championship Celtics team had 7 Hall Of famers on it. Can you imagine how hard it is to stop a team with 7 hall of famers on it from winning it all, especially in an eight team league? No other team had close to that magnitude of talent. And Russell > Wilt is just insane. They played in the same era. Wilt was ten times the offensive player Russell was(and that's being generous). Wilt outrebounded Russell. And Wilt was just as good defensively as Russell was and Wilt was claimed to have blocked at least 6 shots a game if that stat was kept during that time. You like to blame Russell's era for his poor FG%, so please explain to me why Wilt's FG% was well above 50% every year of his career. -
Eagles over Chargers. The Chargers are finally going to live up to the hype IMO. With Merriman back that defense is going to be ferocious and causing turnovers left and right.

I don't see how OJ Mayo/Chris Bosh is classified as a "star", but Gasol isn't. Gasol is on the same level as either of those guys. Also there's too many "perenniel all-star players". A perenniel all-star is someone that's always on the all-star team year after year and many of those guys arn't even 2nd or 3rd options on a true contending team such as Beasley, Love, Green, Okafor.

http://img114.imageshack.us/img114/3883/jaysonwerthorly.jpg Jayson Werth owned Lincecum. That was such a nice hit by him. Never saw anyone hit the ball that far up the left side of the upperdeck before.

I doubt it's going to get a lot of activity, but we'll see how it goes.

Yeah since the Browns fans are loyal that means their a good sports city. What control over the organization moves do the fans have? More power to them for sticking with their team that makes questionable decision after questionable decision. The Cavs have arguably the best home crowd in the league so not sure what you can argue there. As for the Indians I can't say anything good about them lol, but the fans are still loyal I think?

Other than IND and NE Philly has the highest winning percentage of any team during the last decade(McNabb's tenure). Romo has played like a season and a half's worth of games as a starter and has choked all of the ones that mattered so you can take him off the list. Rivers is good, but once again relatively fresh. Well I guess since it relates to winning it doesn't matter with the Lakers either. Prior to June(which was when the Laker fans were starting their [expletive]) they havn't won anything either in OTR's existence. And the Eagles have the highest winning percentage in the NFC for the last decade. Just because the ball didn't bounce their way in one or two games which ended their season early(because in the NFL anything can happen in the playoffs since it's one game). If the Eagles arn't winners then the Lakers arn't either since they were starting [expletive] prior to the championship.

You really think Kobe has never had problems with coaching schemes/decisions? It's a part of sports. People are going to be mad when things arn't going the way they want them to and the clip in that video wasn't bad at all. The source is "worldstarhiphop" loool and if it was Kevin Kolb or Aj Feely instead of Mike Vick noone would say anything. Yeah Donovan just loves losing. I guess that's why he is the third winningest active QB in the league behind hall of famers Peyton Manning and Tom Brady lool. Stick to basketball With all the offensive line injuries and how their trying so hard to get Vick involved the normal offense hasn't had as much time to get their stuff together. Vick will not make that much of an impact during a game and will probably only see about 10 or so plays max. This Eagles offense is going to be relatively similar to how it was in years past(hopefully with more of a running game though, need to take advantage of that huge line),

Yeah but he was 0-1 in the most important game of the year against the Philadelphia Eagles. Romo once again choked and came up short in his team's biggest game. Without TO Romo won't be as good. If Roy Williams can become the WR he was on Detroit then Dallas could be a force, but I don't see him, Cryaton, and Austin getting the job done. And their in the toughest division in the football. The Eagles and Giants are undoubtedly the class of the division. I really like the Redskins defense this year too and I think Haynesworth puts them over Dallas.

Ed Pinckney to be Sixers TV analyst
Diesel replied to Phightins's topic in Philadelphia 76ers Team Forum
Good Salmi blew. I still think it would be funny if they brang him back for the game against Portland just so he can rave about the Andre Miller shot fake over and over again hahaha. -
COLE [expletive]ING HAMELS [expletive] YEAH! He exposed The giants pathetic offense in this game. Great job by him. Hopefully we can bring out the brooms on these [expletive]ers.

You don't know what bended over means? Little boy you have got a lot to learn. And cool congrats on that 2007 playoff series win. What did you guys win that year? Oh nothing. You were the runner up loser and a loser just like the Phillies were that year. On the contrary our team didn't come home empty handed last year as you can see by that world series ring up there. Congrats on the highlight of your franchise being that run to the world series, but never coming home with the ultimate prize. And cool job bringing up my team which was irrelevant, but a dumb one seeing as you get owned nonetheless.

LOL THE ROCKIES GOT BENDED OVER ON ALL 4'S AND POUNDED INTO SSUBMISSION IN THEIR BIGGEST SERIES OF THE YEAR!!! LOOL

I started college yesterday. It's ok I guess, just wished I had more friends from my highschool here since there seems to be tons of former highschool friends groups around.

Here's what I don't get, how come Pedro is "done for the game" if theres a rain delay after those first two innings. I don't get why he can't just get back in after the delay. Lukcily for the Phillies though those kind of situations work in their favor since they have Moyer. Lidge looked really good too. Just finished watching the replay. That's great to see.

The Best to Follow in Malone's Footsteps
Diesel replied to ManOnTheMoon's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Even though McGrady sucks now I think I would rank him over Amare just because T-Mac used to be reallly really good and Amare was never quite at that level. -
You didn't prove any of my points wrong. And the Nationals organization has been around since 1969. They've made the playoffs one time in that timespan. It's going to be tough to find a team with a crappier history. The Wizards highest potential is a 4th seed, but their in the same boat as the Heat, Sixers, Bulls, Toronto, Atlanta. I'd be willing to bet another first round exit is their fate though as they are full of injury prone players and even when healthy I don't think their better than the teams I listed. No defense or bigmen. They don't really matter and don't have a huge following. I think Wizard fans have been calling Washington a top 4 team in the East for the past 3-4 years and it never happens. Thanks, you really added to the thread with this post.

Yeah I agree. Their only real team is the Capitals. -The Nationals are the laughingstock of the MLB -The Redskins won't be winning a superbowl, all they do is overpay for old free agents every year and have been the worst team in the division for most of the decade. -The Wizards were absolutely terrible last year, are full of injury-prone players, and even if they are healthy they will be nothing more than a mediocre team. Their best player has played a total of 15 games the past two years as well. That team won't be doing anything.

The Hawks are one of the biggest laughingstocks of the NBA and apart from last year havn't won a playoff series in who knows how long. Their still a mediocre team and only got to the 2nd round because there was only 3 legit teams in the Eastern Conference. Before last year they were the Clippers of the Eastern Conference and noone in Atlanta cared about them at all. It's going to take more than that to redeem themselves. Not once in franchise history have the Falcons had two consecutive winning seasons although I like their chances this year their still pretty poor historically. The Thrashers just suck(have they ever won a playoff game?) and the Braves arn't winning the NL East so you can get that idea out of your head. Unlike the Red Sox the Phillies will be winning their division this year.
