Official Artest to Lakers? Thread
Diesel replied to The Goods's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Just letting you guys know, but Artest was in Cleveland with LeBron on tuesday so don't get too excited. Ron to Cleveland has also been picking up storm. I would think that Artest would want to be that missing piece to help his team win a title, not jump on the team that just won the title. -
Pretty sure Nike would win. I'm not going to compare the frontcourt and the backcourts because I know you just want to hear how badly Dwight would rape, so we're going to ship that. Nike has an overall better team and you forgot Dirk Nowitzki who I'm pretty sure is with Nike. McGrady is a stiff and shouldn't even be starting over Josh Smith or Jamison. Kobe and LeBron = gg BTW I'd start Duncan over Howard. He is better.

Stefanski: Brand-To-Miami Rumors Untrue
Diesel replied to The Goods's topic in Philadelphia 76ers Team Forum
Yeah I'm not ready to give up on Brand especially when his value is this low. However if we did this move and also did the rumored Dalembert for McGrady deal we would be strong contenders in the 2010 FA class which would make things very interesting. Hey Chris Bosh wanna come play with Thad and Iggy? C- Speights F- Bosh F- Thad G- Iggy G- Blake/Lou/Jrue Not bad -
It's not exactly the getting McGrady part that would excite me. It's the part about getting rid of Dalembert and his terrible contract. At least McGrady's is up after this year if he doesn't work out(and he probably won't). The part of the article about the Sixers adding more players to the deal scares me though. I don't want to give up any of our young guys in this deal. Especially Thad and Speights.

If Artest goes to LA/Orlando he's offically a [expletive]. He's worth way more than the MLE or whatever he'll be offered and he just decides to hop on the two teams that went to the Finals. What a dousche. I'm hoping for Ariza to go to the Cavs though.

Sixers trading Miller to Blazers
Diesel replied to magicbalala245's topic in Philadelphia 76ers Team Forum
This works for me. I really think Andre Miller(as much as I love him) needs to go sooner rather than later. Getting a competent point guard that can shoot the three in Steve Blake works for me and he will be less salary. If we also got Outlaw in this trade that would be amazing, but I wouldn't count on that part of the deal coming true haha. Actually Outlaw is the only other piece on the teamm that combined with Blake to equal Dre Miller's salary. I think Portland has CAP room though, but we'll see. -
I'm not a big fan of adidas shoes. I love their shirts though, very comfy and elastic when playing sports. Nike easily has the better shoes though and it's not even close. For sports clothes though I like adidas.

1. Dwyane Wade 2. Brandon Roy 3. Ray Allen 4. Manu Ginobili 5. Rip Hamilton That's who I like the most out of the SG's. I'll take those guys over Joe Johnson/Vince Carter any day. And I'll be the first to say anyone that doesn't have Wade #1 and Roy #2 doesn't know what their talking about. After that it's arguable however.

FUUUUUU I was hoping Villanueva would go to Cleveland, he would've been a great fit with Shaq.
-
Yeah I didn't see what was so special about his workout either. I mean it's cool to see him do some drills, but you can't compare his work ethnic to Kobe's from that video alone lol.

Rockets could lose Yao for season—or longer
Diesel replied to a topic in Houston Rockets Team Forum
Cmon now Yao has been an all-star center for years now(and rightfully so). This is terrible news if it's true though and a huge loss for the league. Maybe that's why Houston was so eager to try and nab Rubio. -
Does Shaq make Cleveland the top team in the East?
Diesel replied to Diesel's topic in Cleveland Cavaliers Team Forum
I think the Celtics will have trouble with the Cavs. Two years ago when they won their championship Cleveland really have them a run for their money. That Celtics team was also at the top of thier game that they'll ever be at. Now add two all-stars to the team for Cleveland in Mo Williams and Shaq. Take Posey off the Celtics. I think that'll push Cleveland over the top. Orlando will still give them match up problems, but without Turkoglu and with Shaq as a post-up option/guy to match-up with Dwight I think the adjustments will work for them. -
Stefanski: I'm Not Shopping Brand
Diesel replied to The Goods's topic in Philadelphia 76ers Team Forum
Brand's value is probably at an all-time low at this point. The only thing we could possibly get for him would be bad contracts and maybe a solid young player or two. It's just not worth it at this point. Brand will be a lot better this upcoming season with the additional shooters and hopefully with Andre Miller leaving or taking a reduced role. -
Tom Brady. Peyton Manning has had elite recievers his entire career(two of them). Brady had crappy recievers and still won Superbowls and winning MVP Honors. Then when Brady was given Peyton Manning-esque recievers he broke the single season record for Most TD in a year. That's just one year with those guys. Wes Welker wasn't a pro-bowler before New England either. Moss was always a beast, but Brady rejuvenated his career. Brady is the best player of this generation. I would trust Brady to lead my team on a single drive as well with my season on the line over Peyton Manning who was notorious for choking up until a few years ago.

Which team is in the deepest hole?
Diesel replied to YugoRocketsFan's topic in General NBA Discussion
East: Toronto West: Phoenix lol poor Jerry Colangelo. I don't know if any star player is as much as a lock to leave their current team as Bosh is. Even now their a mediocre team that's going to blow. Phoenix is just exploding and will be pretty bad for a while. I think teams like the Pacers and Bobcats are screwed too. Even though their better off than teams like Sacramneto right now their still stuck in mediocrity thus they will not get any top picks(unless their lucky or do anything in the playoffs). Their not in good salary CAP position either to sign a top FA. At least not from my understandings. -
Looks like all the hacker did was make the forum stronger, I can't remember OTR ever being this active. Great stuff everyone. http://www.otrbasketball.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif

Clog too many holes for LeBron? As long as Cleveland pairs him up with a 4 that can hit a jumpshot(Udonis Haslem, Robert Horry, etc.) then it won't be a problem. If Cleveland can pair him up with Dice that would be awesome. In 2004-2007 Wade drove much more than LeBron does now and Shaq being in the lane didn't cause any huge problems for him. However a starting frontcourt of Shaq + Varejao just won't cut it. I'm sure Cleveland will get something done.

He didn't do anything to impress me when he played. I don't care how old he is, I want someone that can come in and kick some [expletive]. Sbisa will never in his entire career be anywhere near the impact player that Pronger is. This is a legend we're talking about and comparing to a guy that hasn't done [expletive] yet.
-
It's a great trade for the flyers. Chris Pronger is an elite defensemen and a former Norris Trophy winner as well as League MVP(that [expletive] isn't common for defensemen). And before I hear the "oh well he's old" playing card he is still playing at an elite level. Sbisa is never going to be half the player Pronger is so I have no problem giving him up. The draft picks won't be that good since we're going to be a very good team for the next few years so that's not a biggie either and a forward like Lupol is easily replaceable. We had 6 guys get 25+ goals last year and that's not even including Briere. This teams defense was pathetic at the end of the year. Sbisa wasn't doing [expletive] to help things so why not bring in one of the best the game has to offer? Ever since Hatcher stopped playing this team had a glaring need for a physical defender that is going to scare people. We need a guy to hit and physically abuse Crosby/Malkin who beat us year after year. It's going to change the way those guys play against us. The Penguins are the team we need to beat and with only one consistently good defender on our team(Timmonen) we're not going to cut it. The only way this trade isn't good is if Pronger doesn't resign with us next year and we don't win the Cup this upcoming season. If we win a Stanley Cup theres no way this trade isn't worth it though regardless of what else happens.

Cleveland: Acquired Shaquille O'Neal for Sasha Pavlovic, Ben Wallace, a 2010 top 40 protected 2nd round pick, and cash considerations. San Antonio: Acquired Richard Jefferson for Bruce Bowen, Kurt Thomas, Fabrico Oberto Orlando: Acquired Vince Carter, Ryan Anderson for Courtney Lee, Rafer Alston, Tony Battie I think the Cleveland trade was the best. They acquire someone that will be able to help them beat a team they struggled with in Orlando. Dwight won't rape them anymore, and they'll have an option to throw to in the post and make Dwight work on defense/tire him out/get him in foul trouble. San Antonio can possibly be the best if Milwaukee decides to waive some of those guys only to have them sign back with San Antonio.

I figured I'd start the first thread in this subforum as the most controversial question in basketball today

Mavericks Still Plan For 'Active Summer'
Diesel replied to MainEv3nt's topic in Dallas Mavericks Team Forum
It's going to be tough for Dallas to get some trades going. They really have no desirable pieces they can use in trades that they can use to build a better team around Dirk. The Devin Harris trade might've just ruined their chances at a title in the Dirk era.
