Thanks for the link to Harlan County I'll check that out, never heard of it. Last night I watched Lincoln Lawyer at the theatres and was pleasantly surprised. I am not a fan of Matthew McConaughey at all but this was one his best performances IMO. It's a very exciting time right now to be a Rockets fan. After a trade that shipped out the reigning MIP, and a defensive captain you would have thought the season was going to get sketchy fast, but instead the emergence of Kyle Lowry and co. have turned this season into an enthusiastic one. This team was so inconsistent all year battling various issues, and now the Rockets are that team that have nothing to lose, just go out play hard and try to grab that eighth seed. I really hope they make it. I do think the Rockets can make life tough for the Spurs, I don't think they can beat them in a 7 game series, but could they make it competitive most definitely. This team scores in bunches and when they give at least a decent effort on D they will stay in just about every game. Two guys that I have been shocked with are Kyle Lowry, and Chuck Hayes. Honestly these guys were really not offensive threats, Lowry struggled to score earlier in the season and well Chuck we all know is the defensive beast. Now you cant slouch on these guys, Kyle is scorching from all over the court, and Chuck sneaks in and gets his points, not to mention he's improved tremendously on his free throw shooting. You add these two into the mix of Kevin Martin, Bud, and Scola and it turns out to be a very competitive team who can strike fast. If the Rockets move the ball and play confident through Adelmans offense then yes I think they can make life a bit tough for the Spurs, I really hope it happens.

It impacts it in a big way, the Rockets signed Luis to a lengthy contract and he's not very young either. Scola is a great player and as durable as anyone in the league, it's an oddity to see him injured for this many games he had a 300+ active streak going. In a way the Rockets are in a good position to once again aim for a superstar, teams love Scola and are seeing what Patt Patt can turn into given the minutes. Patt is a flat out hard worker who can play both ends, while Scola is far more offensive than anything else. Both have good value so I think it opens up the opportunities even more, he was a great draft pick. Completely agree I think he's been great, waited patiently and was ready to do whatever the Rockets wanted him to do, very mature draft pick to say the least.

Amazing win man the Rockets are making a valiant effort for that last spot, been some really fun basketball after the trades were made. Luis Scola's injury in a way has been a blessing for Patrick Patterson and he's taken full advantage of it. Kyle Lowry and Chuck Hayes are indescribably good. :glasses:

Incredible first half. I love seeing the Celtics pick up those techs, I pretty much hate KG so that made me happy LOL. Hopefully we keep this tempo up as of now textbook offense best execution I have seen in a very long time.

It's a shame... he could have been great, but it was clear his work ethic was sub-par. You could see it in certain games, his whole style of making the game look easy was amazing when he was on point, but sometimes it came back to bite him in the ass and that's when Tracy looked more like a quitter when thing's weren't going his way. His whole demeanor was calm cool and collective, but I do wish he had a better career it would have been fun to watch, especially during his tenure in Houston. On the flip side Yao Ming who also possessed tons and tons of talent never casted a shadow when it came to work ethic, he genuinely worked hard and it showed, I think that's why we can be so much more sympathetic towards Yao, knowing that this guy took basketball and made it his life.

Just finished Inside Job, one of the most interesting and effective documentaries I have ever seen. I honestly think every single American should watch it and see how the financial collapse occurred, and how sleazy Wall Street/CEO's really are. The Rockets give me chest pains...... they literally escaped tonight a huge win. BTW Jared Dudley is my new favorite player.

This is a huge game for the Rockets, must win situation from here on out. Also it's Patrick Pattersons birthday today and as a gift he will get his first career start with Scola being out!
