What is your favorite city to visit? I would say my favorite is Chicago. My sister lives in the heart of downtown and it's just fun to be in that atmosphere everyday. Chicago has great food (big fan of the deep dish from Giordanos) and really great spots to just chill at night and look at the incredible view of the city. I am a media major so it's a very enticing place to settle down in with all the media it has, usually takes a backseat popularity wise when compared to LA and NY. I have been three times now and it's always a great trip. The shopping is amazing (Niketown) went to a Cubs game which is just a beer-fest of fun lol and chilled at Navy Pier great weather in the summer a real [expletive] in the winter. So any of you guys have a particular spot you like to visit when vacation time rolls around?

I don't really know much about either, not the music I listen to but you can't deny Kanye says things for attention. Whether he means it or not is debatable but he goes against the grain and gets the attention he so badly craves. I love Kanyes music so I could care less.

Oh Amare enjoy your money sir, you don't deserve it. Kevin Love was a man possessed tonight.

Lol the song is really annoying IMO but hell ya props to the Smith family talented as hell. Jaden was amazing in The Pursuit of Happyness.

Gritty win down the stretch, damn that game got ugly fast. McRoberts is dirty lol and Lowry over embellishes so well he gets under your skin. What a great game from Lowry and Miller. Lowry is back he was everywhere tonight, every single play he was helping out. Brad Miller kicking it old school making it rain from all over the place and even pulled down 8 rebounds. As great as Hibbert looks this season, Miller was beating him off the dribble and forcing guys to come out to three point line. The whole high post deal with Miller looks amazing when it works, it just hadn't worked this well all season. Solid contributions from Lee and Budinger, I feel bad for Bud he looked like he was getting back into a groove and we now we add him to the laundry list of injuries the Rockets already have, Also love this about Jordan Hill, the guy is athletic as hell for his size.

^ I'm down for that bet. The Rockets have sucked but I won't give up on them lol. I won't be able to watch the game live gotta do a event story on the UH basketball team opening up the season tonight, so I will be at that game but I am gonna DVR it, I hope we get to that big milestone..... 2 .... wins.

Michael Beasley: Finally Looking Impressive
htown11 replied to The Lone Granger's topic in Minnesota Timberwolves Team Forum
I saw some stuff on him during the summer on NBATV. Beasley made a commitment to getting better in the off season and he's been aggressive in his approach. I was glad to see him drop 42 the other night. I like when he got pissed on this particular play, gotta wake you're guys up like that. -
What's Going Wrong in Houston?
htown11 replied to The Lone Granger's topic in Houston Rockets Team Forum
Already talked about this like Dash said in the gameday threads. It's a mixture of various issues and guys not stepping up when they have the opportunity to. Shane Battier: He's really now got all the burden on his shoulders, and he's not getting any younger. His numbers have gone up since Aaron went down with the injury, so when he wants to try he can clearly still help out on the offensive end. His defense isn't incredible without more help. Trading Ariza clearly hurt the defense but lightened the load on the pocket. Again I would like to see Lee play more because I think he is a good defender but questioning Rick Adelman's coaching decision can be a thread on it's own. Yao Ming: Out for a week, way to inconsistent needs so much time to get back into the rhythm. Hard to do that with a minute limit. Aaron Brooks: Insignificant for the next 4-6 weeks Kyle Lowry: Doing his best T Mac impression struggling with back spasms, taking horrible shots for some odd reason he lost his brain and his back at the same time. He went 2-11 against the Wizards in his return... why would he ever take 11 shots. Scola+Martin = Easily the two most consistent on the offensive end, but ya they don't play defense. Chase Budinger= Biggest disappointment so far, and you hate to see it because he's got a real opportunity at making some noise like he did last year. http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm233/lebronze23/ouch-2.jpg 3-23 from the three point line.....Chase looks like a very average player when he can't shoot at a high percentage, seems to bring him down in all areas. Jordan Hill= PLAY HIM MORE Ish Smith= Biggest surprise so far, no complaints. Rockets can keep up for most of the game, it's the last 3-4 minutes that has everyone waiting for a leader to step up. Without Yao or Aaron who wants it? I would pick Kevin but he hasn't taken the initiative yet. -
Rockets Explore Trade For Love
htown11 replied to The Lone Granger's topic in Houston Rockets Team Forum
^ Exactly that is the ONLY reason the Rockets would even explore this trade. Personally I would hate to see Scola traded. -
Has Your Team Played To Your Expectations?
htown11 replied to Pooh25's topic in General NBA Discussion
Lol check the record. A huge NO. Rockets have to be the biggest disappointment in the NBA as of right now, with all the talent and expectation it's been a major mess. They have lost Yao for a week, and probably will have issues with him all year, and have lost Aaron Brooks for 4-6 weeks. The only positive thing is that all this mess is happening very early into the season, no reason to think that the Rockets can't get it together and get going, but still waiting on that to happen. Biggest surprise so far this season.... starting of this bad and seeing Ish Smith is an NBA player yet never got drafted. -
Sick love it.

It's funny because both have the positives and then have the negatives. In Aaron's case he does not provide good ball movement, so the offense is a bit more stagnant. When Aaron went down you immediately saw Ish Smith dropping dimes all over the court, and the ball was moving around better. Also that Aaron so far this year has played no defense at all. That's the negative the positive is when you want Aaron to score he does, he picked up that closer role last year for the Rockets and given that the Rockets clearly don't have a closer so far this season Aaron was the likely option. (Kevin Martin doesn't take control like we all wish he would in the 4th) With Yao his positives are clear, big presence great fundamental player. But given the minute circumstance the continuity that Yao needs is not possible when taking long breaks. It actually ruins team chemistry, and causes confusion when he comes back in for the last 5 minutes of the game, nothing really gets done and Yao doesn't become dominant. Plus the fact that he gets out rebounded by just about every man in the paint doesn't help, but that was expected he has no lift. Miss both players for what they are good at, don't miss the clear negatives though lol.

Well acquiring Scola from the Spurs in the first place was a great move. Signing him and Lowry immediately I thought at the time was another great move because both are integral pieces to the puzzle. Scola is not young but he comes out and battles every night and gets it done. So I like the Scola extension, Rockets certainly may have overpaid Kyle Lowry but when you have an aggressive owner who made it clear before the season even ended that he would do whatever it took to keep both, he kept his word and it happened. I think last year we had so much fun watching that Brooks/Lowry duo that worked out well for the Rockets, and when you needed a big shot you could go to Scola for that mid range it was his bread and butter. He's still dominating the offensive end and even drawing double teams, I think he's been solid for the Rockets this year. Adelman is running his system more authoritatively than I have ever seen since he became coach of the Rockets, they built this team for him so of course he will get the blame. Its that aggressive nature of doing the dirty work that;s not part of this team anymore. They don't play like they want to win down the stretch, they just settle and it seems like Adelman does the same.

Lol for real it's messed up how he's got Jordan in the dog house. Enough with the Brad Miller and Chuck Hayes high post love, that [expletive] is not working well enough to bring back a W. Miller may make a nice pass but you know he will give it right back up on defense, because he doesn't play any. Hill has been the only player on that team that has proven in his short stints that he can be a force in the paint on defense, I can't think of anyone else.

Try watching a game with Above Legit on AIM, the guy can't keep his love for Wall civil.
-
How about the Jazz beating Miami and now Orlando in comeback fashion, incredible.

Shouldn't you be in prison playing XBOX? :glasses:

Same story Rockets miss shots down the stretch. We had an excuse before we were losing close game to good teams..... what excuse will we come up with tonight? It's very frustrating to see point blank shots being missed, and layups being an issue. ADELMAN CAN YOU PLEASE PLAY JORDAN HILL the guy has been great on defense and he hasn't played the second half WTF.
-
Refs have made some very lackadaisical calls, kinda disappointing in a close game it makes a difference. You miss a long range shot you better be ready for Wall to go flying, that kid turns into a beast on the run, been a huge problem tonight.
-
Great run, love the effort.
-
It might have an impact, even the smallest makes a difference.
-
Rockets have all types of issues what else is new? Ish will have to keep learning on the fly, Yao is now out for this game and Brooks offense at the end of the day will always be missed. Lowry is useless because he's just not healthy you can tell he's a step slow. Without his physicality and speed he's useless. Chase Budinger is another guy who we all had high hopes for and he's been a massive disappointment from three point land, these guys need to step up and take care of business, that gritty squad from last year has only showed up in one game this season and that was against the Spurs.
-
Yao out for the game with a tendon strain.

Slow start, wake up Rockets.
