  1. One of my favorite TV shows, second only to Burn Notice.
  2. He was one of my sleepers. I didn't get why he was projected as a 2nd rounder. Just from a physical standpoint the guy has all the tools to make the transition to the NBA. Across the board he's a solid player. Only real knock is his streaky 3 ball but that's the easiest thing to correct. I like him more than some guys projected in the lotto. I was hoping the Lakers would sneak into the 25-30 range and steal him, but it's looking like he'll be picked way before then.
  3. At 15 he would be a good pick, depending on what his role would be. If they view him in a Jason Terry type role, then go for it. If they just want a shooter, then go with Thompson or Donatas or Morris or even Hamilton. Shooting is easy to replace. They can use their 2nd round pick and draft Andrew Goudelock or get a shooter via FA like Jason Kapono.
  4. I'm with AL, I don't get why the Sixers would do this. Monta Ellis is a great talent but he is most effective with the ball in his hands. I don't think he meshes well with Jrue and Williams. Plus small backcourts are rarely successful. Granted Holiday is an excellent defender, but I'm not sure how well he'll do having to match up with bigger stronger guards. For Monta to be successful, he needs to go to a veteran team where they won't put up with him just chucking shots and with a coach that'll rein him in. The Spurs would be good, Pop actually got Glenn Robinson to play both ends of the floor so he can work some magic with Ellis.
  5. I can think a lot of teams willing to take Beasley. The Cavs, Clips, Hornets, Warriors, Magic, Kings. He has a role in the NBA, I just don't think you'll win if he's your number 1 option offensively. As for Rambis, I don't think he's as bad a coach as his record indicates. They played a lot of close games this year and held their own against some of the better teams. It takes time to learn the Triangle. Veterans like Odom, Artest, and Blake had and still have trouble with it. With a young team it'll take longer. I'd like to see what Rambis does with Rubio before giving him the ax.
  6. Now just get Tim Grgurich and LA has a nice coaching staff.
  7. 1. Dumb and Dumber 2. Ace Ventura Pet Detective 3. The Truman Show 4. Liar Liar 5. Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls
  8. What Rookie/Rookies will be NBA All Stars? Irving, Kanter, Burks. What Rookie are you sold will make it/won't make it? I think a lot have the potential to make it at least as role players. Irving is the only one I'm confident can play at a high level for a long time. High level meaning a solid starter/boderline all-star for a long time. Similar to a Jameer Nelson/Mo Williams type. What Rookies will be NBA Bust? Marcus Morris, Kawhi Leonard, Tristan Thompson. Mostly based on where they're projected to be picked. What Rookies will have most successful career? Irving, Burks, Kanter. Who are some sleeper picks that have NBA potential in this years draft class? Marshon Brooks, Reggie Jackson, Malcolm Lee, Nikola Vucevic, Iman Shumpert, and JaJuan Johnson. I don't think they'll be stars but they can be solid role players. Lee for example can have a Dahntay Jones type career. What Rookie we be starers in the NBA? Irving, Burks, the four Euro bigs, Biyombo, Brooks, Harris. There's a lot of guys that can be starters depending on what they land on. Whether they're starting calibar players is another thing. Bogans is a starter but I don't know many that consider him starting calibar.
  9. I don't know that they should give up on his this quick. They also will probably have a hard time dumping him. I don't know many teams that'll be willing to take him at his contract. Like someone said above, it almost has to be a case where you deal a bad contract for another bad one. The teams that might take him are teams that feel they are a piece away. Maybe Portland for Roy. But does Chicago risk it? Maybe in a four way deal where Detroit dumps Charlie V and Gordon while Boozer goes to a contender. Maybe OKC would do it since they aren't getting much offense from their bigs. But they also have Ibaka who they love. Maybe SA makes one last run and does a deal involving Jefferson. NJ maybe if they feel they'll strike out on Howard. Or trade him to Dallas. Cubcan doesn't care about spending. He might feel Boozer would make a great 6th man.
  10. Exactly what NY needs, another chucker that can't defend. If I'm NY, I just stay at 17. There's no one really worth trading up for IMO after the top 10 players. I'd just stay at 17 and take Brooks. Has all the physical tools to be a two-way player, athleticism, 7+ foot wingspan. Or hell, go with Harris or Honeycutt or Vucevic. D'Antoni needs to check himself. His entire style of playing only one end of the floor will win them nothing. Have to get tough defensively and learn to win that way too. The more ways you can win, the more ways you do win.
  11. I don't see anything PHX has to offer that would appeal to Minny. Washington maybe if they offered their pick and McGee or Crawford.
  12. If it means less Fish, that could be a good thing. I don't know that you can run with this team. LA is a power team and are probably the slowest team in the league. Who is gonna run a break? Fish has the worst point skills of any starting guard in the league. Ron is terrible on the break. And Pau and Drew don't always run either. I do like the idea of Pau and Drew getting more touches. I get tired of seeing 3-4-5 minutes going by without them getting a touch.
  13. Definately the most dominant offensive force in NBA history. No disrespect to MJ, but Shaq got legit quintuple teams to try to stop him. That 2000 season was just scary how good he was. That said, IMO, like I've said before: Shaq is one of the biggest disappointments in NBA history. For as much as he's accomplished, he still could have done more. The league has never seen a guy that big be able to move that well. There's no reason he couldn't average 40/15 if he wanted. If he wanted, he really could have been the best ever period. MJ wouldn't even be in the debate. But Shaq didn't want to. Never led the league in rebounds or blocked shots. Never bothered to really improve on his FTs or add a jump shot. Wasn't really motivated to stay in great shape. If he had Alonzo's heart, the NBA record books would have been rewritten into his own biography. Still, he's on my Mt. Rushmore of Centers. One of the greatest ever and a hands down, no doubt about it, unanimous first ballot Hall of Famer.
  14. They need to pair him another star player. Chris Paul would be the ideal guy. They probably had a good shot at him last year if not for the financial mess ownership in NO was in. If not Paul then a guy like Granger or Iggy. And if not them then on a lesser level a guy like Stephen Jackson. Problem is that outside of Dwight, Orlando doesn't have many tradable assets. If they can't get another star then they have to remake the Pistons 04 team and pair Dwight with 4 other elite defensive players. That means no more turnstiles like Hedo and Nelson and Anderson. It'll be interesting to see what Orlando does. But this is looking eerily similar to KG in Minnesota.
  15. WTF?! Three refs, six eyes, and they ALL missed THREE fouls! Wow. Stevie Wonder saw that push and went DAYUM! PS, in an era of highflyers, notice that these ironmen are usually guys that don't rely on athleticism (Fisher, Andre Miller, Gary Payton, Stockton). More highflyers = more risks = more injuries. I don't know if we'll see a guy who can break it in a while since athleticism is becoming more important.
  16. Robert Horry, Horace Grant, Devean George, and good ol Tyronn Lue. That was hilarious! He deserves to be the Lakers head coach based on that alone.
  17. Arron Afflalo and JR Smith. Don't know if Denver keeps both. Afflalo is my first choice. Great defensive player and has become a reliable shooter. Cheaper alternatives are probably DeShawn Stevenson, Anthony Parker, and Shane Battier. They also could find their future starting SG via the draft. Marshon Brooks, Malcolm Lee, Travis Leslie, and Iman Shumpert. One if not more should be available when they pick.
  18. It's one thing to defend yourself, it's another to reload and shoot a guy six times after he's already down. If he had just shot the guy 6 times in a row, he'd probably wouldn't have even been charged. But he shot, chased the other guy, walked back into the store, walked passed the guy on the ground, reloaded, and shoots the guy on the ground again 5 times. Tough to argue self defense in that case. That said, no sympathy for that dumbass who got killed. Good. Wish he would have killed the other one. Here's my thing: was the guy he shot dead after the first shot? If he was, how is it manslaughter? You can't commit manslaughter on a body that's already dead. Personally, if I was a juror, I'd just clear him.
  19. If it means less Fisher and no more Luke Walton, I'd look forward to that. if it means no more double teaming guys like Reggie Evans, I look forward to that. If it means LA will FINALLY learn to defend the pick and roll that has hurt them since Shaq was here, I look forward to that.
  20. This. I don't hold a grudge when a player messes up and costs the team a game. I HATE players when players continuously hurt the team for making the same mistake over and over and over again. It's the biggest reason I dislike Derek Fisher. Constantly attempts layups (he shoots them at 30%) and double teams guys in the post that don't need doubling while leaving shooters open.
  21. It's unfortunate that he got injured because that's the only risk about him opting out. Still, I think if he's healthy he's the best unrestricted FA big man after Tyson Chandler who I'm sure Cuban will make sure remains with Dallas. This year's FA class is pretty weak as far as unrestricted FA. You got Chandler, Caron Butler, Tayshaun Prince, JR Smith, Kirilenko, and Glen Davis. Yao would normally be a main target but how much does anyone want to pay a guy whose career is always in questioned. Personally, I think West is overrated but he should test the market since someone will always overpay for a guy like him. He can easily get somewhere around 8-10 million.
