Suns Owner a Homosexual
?QuestionMark? replied to The Great iBoldin's topic in General NBA Discussion
Well then let me try again. The Suns should trade for Kevin Love, Ramon Sessions and Rudy Gay. They should sign both Sun Yue and Luther Head. They can then have a lineup of: Yue Love Gay Head Sessions -
Don't need to get a PG via FA. There's not much except restricted players like Chalmers and Brooks. But they do have a trade X from the Sasha trade they can use to possibly pry Ramon Sessions out of Cleveland. Their MLE they can use to fill another perimeter need. Maybe Afflalo from Denver. Otherwise they can just split it between Delonte West and someone else. Honestly, I think they have enough assets to make the roster moves needed (MLE, Trade X, Picks) but who knows if Buss is willing to spend.

Always knew the Suns sucked. -
Boston targeting Jamal Crawford this summer?
?QuestionMark? replied to AboveLegit's topic in Boston Celtics Team Forum
That'll be hard unless it's a S&T. Crawford could get more in the open market than the MLE. I think even Atlanta would offer more than MLE if that's all he's getting. I think Boston would have a better shot at getting JR Smith. Stuckey and Nick Young are the type of players Boston could use off the bench but Was and Det probably match any MLE offer. Afflalo or CDR might be another option. -
Will Lakers Blow it UP?
?QuestionMark? replied to Showtime16's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Only way I see them blowing this team up is if they get Howard. Otherwise, they won't panic and don't need to panic. Teams that make 3 deep playoffs runs get tired. It happened to LA in 2004, it happened again. They added new pieces and the next year were back in the Finals. They just need more perimeter speed and athleticism. They'll be fine. They need tweaks not a major overhaul. -
Casting call for next Rockets coach will be deep
?QuestionMark? replied to Dash's topic in Houston Rockets Team Forum
McHale seriously? His first day on the job, he'd trade Martin, Scola, Lee, and Lowry to Boston for Jermaine O'neal and Delonte West. -
When the baby grows up and goes to the movies, do they buy one ticket or two? I mean, they're sharing one seat, but 4 eyes are watching....hmmm.

What match-up do you want to see in the Finals?
?QuestionMark? replied to SRT Spidey's topic in General NBA Discussion
Either OKC-Bulls to see two of my favorite players go head-to-head. Or Mavs-Bulls with the Mavs winning just so I can say the Lakers at least lost to the champs. -
Trade idea: Russell Westbrook for Chris Paul
?QuestionMark? replied to htownborn's topic in Oklahoma City Thunder Team Forum
That's actually a good idea that could benefit both teams. NO doesn't want to lose Paul if he opts out and Westbrook is as good as it's gonna get. OKC would land one of the permeir players in the league who would make an excellent sidekick to Durant since Paul is probably happier passing than scoring. -
Lakers very interested in Adelman
?QuestionMark? replied to AboveLegit's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Also played against Gasol, Odom, Artest, Blake, and Barnes. I don't know if he can command the respect of the veterans when, right or wrong, a lot of them still somewhat see him as a peer since they've played with or against him. Probably see him as just one of the guys. Plus I don't know that you want to give a rookie coach the reigns to a team that's won two titles. It's like buying a brand new Bentley and giving the guys to some 16 year old who got his driver's license and you hope he doesn't crash it. -
Lakers very interested in Adelman
?QuestionMark? replied to AboveLegit's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Makes sense. The guy is the best coach on the market. Probably would have a ring or two if not for Phil Jackson always seeming to get in his way. It would be interesting if they get him, on the surface it would seem that the Lakers would desperately need to find a true PG or at the very least severely cut Fish's minutes. It also seems not everyone in LA's FO is sold on Shaw. I think Shaw can be a good coach, but I also can see where he can be a pushover with a veteran team like LA. It could be hard to get the respect of players you've played with/against. -
Kareem critical of todays NBA players
?QuestionMark? replied to AboveLegit's topic in General NBA Discussion
Lets be honest, most seniors become seniors because they know they weren't good enough to be drafted as underclassmen. Outside of Duncan, who was the last senior that has had an all-star career? Agree. GMs need to do a better job. But the draft has always been a crapshoot even when guys weren't declaring early. Portland is stil pissed they wasted the 1st pick on LaRue Martin with McAdoo and Erving on the board. Jeff Trepagnier and Ndudi Ebi both busts. One a senior, one a HS senior. Both failed for the same reason: Greath athletes with no other skill. To be fair, Neal spent 3 seasons overseas before landing in the NBA. A lot of players, need more time to develop, including seniors. Mo Evans, Udonis Haslem went overseas and came back better players. This goes back to the draft being a crap shoot. There are some things that you can't assess by watching tape or running them through athletic tests. Sometimes hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard. Guys can go to college all 4 years and never improve (Terrence Morris). So this idea that just because you go to college will mean you'll be better suited for the NBA is false. It took JJ Redick (one of the best college players ever) close to 4 years before he became a solid bench player in the NBA. -
All-Defensive First and Second Teams
?QuestionMark? replied to Real Deal's topic in General NBA Discussion
Kobe made it on name alone. When he wants to he can be the best perimeter defender in the league....he didn't want to many times this year. Deng got screwed. Sefolosha should be there too. I like that they snuck Noah in there as a 4. Very deserving but he doesn't actually play at the forward spot. -
Kareem critical of todays NBA players
?QuestionMark? replied to AboveLegit's topic in General NBA Discussion
Why? There are too many 4 year college players that can't hit from that range. This has not as much to do with age and more to do with the American basketball culture where everything is either going to the rim or settling for 3s. -
While this is true, a couple things to consider before overpaying. Lakers are still a contender if they just add some speed, athleticism, and shooting on the perimeter. Their biggest strength is their size, which few, if any, teams can match in the NBA. Trading both starting bigs eliminates their strengths. One bad ending to a season does not mean you blow up a team whose core has gone to three finals. This looked more like a mentally drained team than one that is plain disfunctional. Lakers don't need to give up both bigs for Dwight since few teams can offer a player better than Bynum as a centerpiece. Only NJ with Lopez can compare, but I don't see why Orlando would trade within their conference. LA would need to get a third team involved, but I can see them getting a deal done without involving Gasol.

No. I like Dwight but now that's overpaying for him.

Is Pau Gasol time playing in LA over?
?QuestionMark? replied to magicbalala245's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
This is classic overreaction. Pau is one of the most talented big men in the world, you don't give up on him after a bad post-season. The problem to me on the outside looking in is that this team has mentally checked out. There's a reason why no team has made 4 straight finals apperances in decades....it's bleeping hard to do and takes a toll on everyone physically and mentally. It doesn't help that Phil didn't reall bother to limit Pau's minutes like he did with Kobe and Fish. There were blowout games where he still had Pau and 4 scubs on the floor in garbage time. The same thing happened in 03 when the team was spent have three deep final runs. This team just needs to add some fresh legs and fill some holes that were exposed. Clearly they need to add some more quickness and speed on the perimeter. And another player that can create a shot for himself and others from the guard spot would be nice. And another shooter would be nice. The last two games, if they just make a 3 pointer here or a 3 pointer there, we could have a different series. This same core could end up in the Finals again next year. -
GM6: San Antonio at Memphis (MEM 3-2)
?QuestionMark? replied to Real Deal's topic in Memphis Grizzlies Team Forum
RIP Spurs. Memphis - Thunder will be a good series. Memphis won 3 out of 4 versus OKC. So maybe another upset in the making. -
1. Fire D'Antoni. Arrivederci, paisan! 2. Hire Rick Adelman. 3. Draft BPA (Honeycutt? Leslie?) 4. MLE on Samuel Dalembert. Add some rebounding, shot-blocking, defense. Joel Pryzbilla could be another choice. 5. LLE (if they have it) on Anthony Parker. 6. Min. contracts on role players like Dominic McGuire, Earl Watson, Rasual Butler, Craig Smith. Guys that come cheap but fit a role.
-
Do you consider the Spurs a dynasty?
?QuestionMark? replied to Real Deal's topic in San Antonio Spurs Team Forum
Well dynasty by definition implies consecutiveness so no. Spurs are an interesting case though since for the most part, it was the same core that won those titles. Maybe they need a new word for what SA did. Dominant works. -
Stern Wants to Allow Basket Interference in Games
?QuestionMark? replied to The Regime's topic in General NBA Discussion
So out of everything that is wrong in the NBA, THIS is what he wants to change? There's a reason they put the goaltending rule in....because one guy named Wilt Chamberlain was ruining the game. Imagine how much worse it'll be now in a league with better athletes. Here's an idea....allow hand-checking and get rid of zone defenses. Of course, since that hurts international players and probably international appeal, Stern wouldn't go for it. -
Carlisle isn't the problem, and I don't know know that short of Pop or Phil Jackson another coach will do better. The problem is that you can't win a ring when your best player is also your softest. Even if you want to argue that Dirk isn't soft, perception is a lot of times more important than reality. And from Matt Barnes's quote, I'll assume that a lot of teams feel this way about Dallas so they always play like they have a shot against them and aren't going to be intimidated.
