Here's my advice on weed if you do smoke. Never carry it in your car, much less smoke it in your car. Smoking weed isn't illegal, being in possession of it is. (Though they can cite/arrest you if you're high and driving). If you must carry it in your car, put it in the trunk. It's a lot harder to justify a search of the trunk than any place within the immediate reach of the driver. If you have smoked in the car or are carrying weed in your car, DON'T DO ANYTHING TO DRAW ATTENTION TO YOURSELF! Don't speed, don't run stop signs, make sure you have the tags on your car, don't have tinted windows, don't blast loud music. Don't do anything that makes others look at you. Cops are just itching to pull people over. They have quotas they need to fill. Cops want to get promoted too, the more arrests and citations they get the better the odds they move up. So don't help them by giving them a reason to pull you over and find drugs on you.

Deron Williams sign with Besiktas
?QuestionMark? replied to Dash's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
Technically he wouldn't be FORCED to come back. But once the lockout ended, his contract with his Euro team would become void and he wouldn't be allowed to play with them. So it's either play for the Nets or not at all. -

He'd be forced to. He still has a contract with NJ. Besides,he'd make much more money here than overseas. -
Do the Nuggets need a superstar to contend?
?QuestionMark? replied to Real Deal's topic in Denver Nuggets Team Forum
Superstars win rings. So yeah Denver needs a superstar. If you go through history in the past 50 or so years, only the Pistons are the only team to win a title without a HOFer. That makes them the exception, not the rule. But what Detroit lacked in superstar talent, they made up for it with amazing balance and incredible defense. They had 4 all-stars but they won games on the defensive end. Of their starters 4 of them were top 3 at their position defensively. They always had shooters and at least one post player on the floor. They brought defensive players like Campbell, James, and Hunter off the bench. Usually had dual shot-blockers with Sheed and Wallace on the floor. They need someone they can build around. They have a lot of side dishes, now they need the main course. -
What free agents should the Wizards look into?
?QuestionMark? replied to Real Deal's topic in Washington Wizards Team Forum
It's a pretty weak crop of FAs. The best ones are all restricted. I'd make offers to Gasol and Thad Young and force Memphis and Philly to match. Otherwise I'd look at guys like Nene, West, Landry, Humphries, or Davis. Another option would just to use their cap space to facilitate bringing in a big salary star. Maybe bring in a guy like Iggy or Ellis or Granger. Long shot but it seems team who make out best with cap space are the ones who use it for trade purposes. Look at Memphis with Randolph. -
Any list that doesn't include Luke Walton as one of the most overpaid players is full of fail. Guys like Darko and Gordon are overpaid but at least they play and produce. Walton just sits and collects 5 million and when he does see the court all he does is build houses with his bricks. And Collison should be nowhere on the list since he doesn't make 13 million. He makes 3 million.

The question becomes guilty of what? It's like citing someone for running a stop sign when really they were speeding. Even though a traffic violation did happen, can't find a person guilty if it's the wrong charge. I think in the opinion of most of us and the juror, Casey was guilty of something involving the death of the girl. But was it intentional, on accident, or did she just cover it up? Did someone see you steal the money? Get a discription of the car? Get a good description of you? Did the gloves and mask match the ones found later? Was it cold which would explain why someone would have gloves or a mask? Did the money they find match the cash stolen? What if the stolen money was all in $100 bills but the cash found on you were all in $10s. Stuff like this matters. It's not what you know, it's what you can prove. If they match, there's enough evidence to show you were the probable robber and would get charged with robbery. If not, then you still may get charged with something else. Possible attempted robbery if they find a gun on you. All that shows is that you're involved somehow. But can they prove YOU specifically were the person who did the killing. If you know who did it but didn't actually do the killing then you can't be charged with murder. That's what happened with Anthony. There wasn't enough evidence to prove Anthony actually murdered the kid. Doesn't mean the jury doesn't believe she had nothing to do with her death.

NBA Isn't in Financial Distress
?QuestionMark? replied to Erick Blasco's topic in General NBA Discussion
The Union has pretty much conceded that were were losses. They just don't buy that it's as much as Stern is claiming. I'm not an accounting major but I'm pretty sure you can screw with the numbers to show you're losing more money than you really are. On the radio I was hearing that the biggest gripe from the union is that owners are using the purchase price of a franchise in their losses. If that's true then yeah the owners a full of it. Players shouldn't have to be responsible because someone overpaid to buy a team. -
No, charging her with child negligence based on the fact she never reported the kid missing. They state instead tried to charge her with crimes that involve an element of premeditation. Since they couldn't even prove how she died it's hard to prove intent. If this was a rape case it doesn't make it to trial without DNA evidence or an admission of guilt, or even proof of sex. So yeah. So yeah. Direct evidence is pretty important in any case. She was rewarded because the defense created reasonable doubt on premeditated murder charges. The state proved she is a lair, an unfit, horrible mother and terrible human being. But not that she actually killed her daughter. They didn't have everything. They couldn't even prove how she died. And just because she was found not guilty doesn't mean that the jury believe she's not guilty of playing a role in the kid's death. It just means they didn't believe the prosecution's theory. Agree. Sometimes you have to take the good with the bad with the justice system. Better to let a guilty person go free than send an innocent one go to jail. I think a guilty one went free here. But I don't blame the jury.
-
Here's the problem. Casey probably killed the kid. But we don't know that she did. Jurors have a to base their verdict based on a higher standard than everyone else. They have to find her guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. The fact the prosecution couldn't even establish how the kid died hurt their case. Could have been murder, could have been negligence. Bottom line, the state tried to convict based on circumstantial evidence without any proof. Instead of trying to hit a homer, they should have settled for a double and charged Casey based on something they could prove.

Knicks need to get better defensively. Top priority should be getting a defensive anchor. Look at how Tyson Chandler made the Mavs into a completely different team. I dunno that they can get a guy like that but they can sign a guy like Dalembert or Przybilla. They already have two backcourt players who can potentially be really good defensively in Toney Douglas and Iman Shumpert. The bigger problem is getting D'Antoni to get the team to defend.

Which Five Players Would You Rather Have?
?QuestionMark? replied to EastCoastNiner's topic in Player Comparisons
Team 1 all the way. The 2000 version of Shaq was the most dominant offensive player I've ever seen. Double, triple, quadruple team him and it didn't matter. Howard would foul out in 2 minutes trying to guard him. -
2011 Pick #1: Cleveland Cavaliers
?QuestionMark? replied to Real Deal's topic in General NBA Discussion
It's not like Irving was unknown. He was one of the top high school players and could have been a top 10 pick right out of HS. He was always considered a top talent and still probably would have been a top pick even if the other top players had declared. When he did play he was the best player on the floor. Williams is talented as well but has more question marks than Irving. Is he a 3 or a 4? His skills may be better suited to play PF but he'd be undersized. Even though he played inside in college, and as athletic as he was, he wasn't much of a paint protector. Move him at SF does he have the perimeter skills? It's the same debate people had in 2008. Rose or Beasley. The same concerns on the court that plagued Beasley plague Williams. Assuming Irving is completely healed, he's the better choice at this pick. -
Chicago's free agent options at SG
?QuestionMark? replied to Real Deal's topic in Chicago Bulls Team Forum
He's the best fit given what Chicago can realistically get. I feel someone will give Crawford and Smith more than MLE money. McGrady can't count to stay healthy. Brown is too ball dominant. That leaves West, Stevenson, and Richardson. West and Stevenson are both solid but bench players. Given the choice, I'd take Richardson. -
Is a true PF the answer for the Atlanta Hawks?
?QuestionMark? replied to Real Deal's topic in Atlanta Hawks Team Forum
They need to deal Smith. He's one of those overrated players like prime Shawn Marion and Rajon Rondo. They're great fantasy players that fill up the box score, but they're just glorified role players. At least Marion and Rondo are legit pieces to the puzzle. Smith on the other hand is a square peg trying to fit in a round hole. He's too much of a tweener to help Atlanta win, unless he's coming off the bench but at his salary that's not happening. They need to trade him and get either a real Center or a PF that can draw double teams. Every championship team has a player they can dump the ball into the post who can get an easy two points or will draw a double to get someone else an open look. Titles are won in half court games, and Smith isn't effective when the tempo slows down. -
Chicago's free agent options at SG
?QuestionMark? replied to Real Deal's topic in Chicago Bulls Team Forum
I disagree that he's horrible. No one will confuse him for being Ron Artest, but he's far from being Peja Stojakovic. J-Rich is decent defensively as in he's not a liability defensively. He won't shut down anyone, but you don't have scheme your defense specifically to make up for having him on the floor like the Lakers would do with Fisher. -
Chicago's free agent options at SG
?QuestionMark? replied to Real Deal's topic in Chicago Bulls Team Forum
Of those Richardson is probably the best fit. Can spread the floor, decent defense, and doesn't need the ball in his hands. If he wasn't restricted, Arron Afflalo would be the ideal fit for them. Great defense, can hit the three, and still young. -
How important is Andrei Kirilenko to the Utah Jazz?
?QuestionMark? replied to Real Deal's topic in Utah Jazz Team Forum
Not very. In need of a SF or not, he's not in Utah's rebuilding plans. I bet they try to keep him but won't break the bank to do so and won't get into a bidding war. There's no point in signing a role playing vet to big money on a young team. My guess is he's playing somewhere else next year. -
NY motorcyclist dies on ride protesting helmet law
?QuestionMark? replied to Lkr's topic in Off-Topic Discussion Forum
Exactly. It's God's way of thining out the herd. Darwin in action. Eliminate those contaminating the gene pool. Personally, I don't think there should be a law about wearing a helmet. But I also think that anyone who doesn't wear one is an incredible idiot and deserve whatever happens to them. -
Sonny Weems Close to Signing Overseas
?QuestionMark? replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Toronto Raptors Team Forum
By my count that's 4 players that have now signed overseas. Nenad Krstic, Hilton Armstrong, Mustafa Shakur, and now Weems. I can see a lot of other players that would rather play overseas rather than wait for the lockout. Some players are making more overseas than they would here. Hell, Quincy Douby signed a one-year deal at 2 million to stay in China. Don't know if he would have gotten more than a minimum offer in the NBA. -
Is it time to deal one of Boston's big three?
?QuestionMark? replied to Real Deal's topic in Boston Celtics Team Forum
I think they have one run left in them but they desperately need a center and add bench help. No one really trusts JO to stay healthy for most of the year. This offseason I'm trying to nab either Dalambert, Przybilla, or Kwame Brown in FA. -

Irving easily. Best player with the most upside. On a team with so many holes, you go with Irving. -
You're the Memphis Grizzlies' GM...
?QuestionMark? replied to Real Deal's topic in Memphis Grizzlies Team Forum
Do you look to re-sign Zach Randolph? Yes it was the smart move to lock him up. I wouldn't have given him an extention starting at 17.7 million, but I would keep him around. Do you try and deal Rudy Gay and his four-year, $69 million contract? Depends, can I package him with Mayo and get a major upgrade somewhere? If not, I keep him. He's 20 ppg, can spread the floor, and defends. I wouldn't give up on him unless I'm worried his injury is so severe he won't come back the same. Is OJ Mayo on the block? Yes. Allen as pretty much taken his starting spot. And with their recent acquisitions, Mayo is expendible. Granted, Mayo is the far superior player out of all of them, but if they're bringing him off the bench, it's not worth having to break the bank to re-sign him. I would trade him now while his value is high. Trade him to the Lakers in a S&T for Shannon Brown How important will it be to re-sign Marc Gasol (matching any offer sheet, plus giving an extension later)? Extremely important. Centers are hard to find and Gasol is a top 3-5 center in the league. You need to keep him and maintain one of the best front courts in the league. -
Aw man this is gonna suck. Either we have to start liking the WNBA or get used to a long time without basketball. I'm going to need a new hobby until college basketball starts.
