  1. lol at Sanchez pump faking 5 yards past the LOS.
  2. It'll probably be 24 in about 45 seconds.
  3. Well crap. No chance for the Jets anymore.
  4. Hey, we only gave up 10 points in the first 14 minutes. It's progress.
  5. Well, at least we were able to keep them out of the end zone. Only 1 minute before the Jets stop playing horribly. I'd laugh my head off if the Pats go for it and don't get it, in true Belichek style.
  6. Man, not a smart pass from Brady. It'll be interesting to see if the Jets blitz on 3rd and 22.
  7. It was Eric Smith. Expect to see him do more of that. There really isn't much of a point for Jets fans to watch the first quarter of their teams' games. Their entire team plays horridly. They can never sustain a drive, and they always give up at least one score. If the Jets give up another touchdown in the quarter, it's over. If not, they can still come back. But they just don't have the offense to come back from such large deficits.
  8. Yeah, blatant interference on the pass, exactly why I hate that Leonhard is gone. Eric Smith is a terrible football player.
  9. Looking at that replay of the hit on Sanchez on the third down play, that's one that would have definitely be called if it were Brady who were hit.
  10. I don't think that Manning has really shown signs of age, his receiving corps has just been severely depleted. Wayne is questionable week after week, no Gonzalez, Clark or Collie. He's down to Jacob freakin' Tamme as one of his top options. Age and the fact that Peyton has started since the beginning of his career whereas Romo has only been a starter for the last couple of seasons are the main factors of my decision that I'd rather have Romo if I'm building a franchise.
  11. I really hate how dumb Ryan has been all season with his timeout and challenge management. Was there any reason to take that challenge? Absolutely not.
  12. Eh, I think he has gotten to that point. Obviously a lot of people will scrutinize him and pick apart his mistakes being that he's in the driver's seat of the biggest market in the NFL, but I believe that he is at that point. 3 straight seasons (not counting this year) with a QB rating over 90 (obviously not the end all be all of QB stats, but still a pretty good one to use to judge a QB), and he had a completion percentage of nearly 70% this season. He was only picked off on 1.6% of his passes last year (9 times in 550 attempts), and had a nice 7.3 net yards per average attempt.
  13. No chance Caldwell goes, not with the slew of injuries they've had. Also, Singletary was given a vote of confidence as the GM (I think) said that he won't be fired this season. With the team at 4-2 following the 0-6 start, I don't see Singletary gone. Fox and Lewis will most likely be gone after the season is over, though.
  14. While the ground game has picked up in recent weeks, I think that this is a bad call and allo but ensures that the team goes after a head coach in the offseason rather than sticking with their interim.
  15. When did I say that he sucks because of the few poor games he's had? I said that I'd rather have Romo who will still be really good for the next 5 years at least, than I would 2 guaranteed great years from Peyton and who knows what after that.
  16. I highly doubt that Kubiak gets canned this year, or at least I don't think he should be on the 'most likely to get canned' list. He hasn't been able to lead this team over the hump yet, but he has built this team to be pretty damn good, and I don't think that the Texans will be that aggressive and fire him like that unless they finish 6-10 or worse.
  17. I'd probably take Romo over Manning too, just because of the age difference. I'd rather have at least 5 years of really good quarterbacking than 2 years of incredible quarterbacking and then a big question mark after that.
  18. It was a hard shove, but not penalty worthy in my opinion. But really, with the way that poorly called penalties are dictating games this year more than big plays, I think that there needs to be one official in a replay booth who reviews all penalties. I mean, seriously, 40% of the Jets' passing yards allowed have been on BS pass interference or unneccessary roughness calls, and the bad calls are changing a whole lot of other games too. I'm usually against adding more replay to sports, but I think that with how the NFL is being officiated this year, more extensive replays are a must.
  19. Eh. Orton has been, in my opinion, better than Cutler since the deal. Cutler is the one quarterback that I wouldn't want to have on my team. He gambles way too much and I think that the risk far outweighs the reward. Marshall was a headache, but his talent really made it worth it, so getting rid of him wasn't a very good move. Hillis just wasn't being used much. It was dumb of McDaniels to give him only 13 rushes after his solid rookie year, but if you had the opportunity to trade your fullback for a talented quarterback that could still be salvaged, like they did when acquiring Brady Quinn, wouldn't you take it? As far as Scheffler, it just seems as if Denver coaches didn't like him or something. He consistently proved to be a pretty damn good receiving tight end, but the team didn't really try to get the ball into his hands. But with the system that McDaniels was trying to implement, Scheffler was expendable, so moving him wasn't too ludicrous.
  20. Even though I am a Jets fan, a big one at that, I have to say that I'm thinking the Pats win this one. First of all, the Jets have, recently, been strong against the Patriots at home, and have struggled against them on the road. Sanchez has struggled lately, and the ground game hasn't ever found a way to get going. The Jets have struggled in defending the run recently, and Woodhead is the exact speedy type of back that could do some damage running around the Jets' relatively slow front 7. Add in the huge loss of Leonhard, and it looks like it'll take a superhuman effort like Cromartie's in the second half of the first Jets-Pats game for the Jets to win.
  21. A little bit too early in my opinion. While the team has been horrible since the hot start last season, I would have at least given him the rest of the season and then reevaluated. But isn't it odd how many Belichek proteges go down the tube once they're on their own? I guess they aren't as good when they aren't filming the opposition. I kid, of course. But yeah, I don't think it'll take too long for McDaniels to latch onto another team as an offensive coordinator. As far as the Broncos' next coach, I think that they should try to get Rob Ryan in the offseason. It'd be good to get a defensive minded head coach after your experiment with an offensive juggernaut of a mind at the helm failed.
  22. I used to be a Yankee fan, but I hate frontrunners, so I ditched the Yanks when they won the WS, for my second favorite team.
  23. It seems as if Chad Henne is a terrific quarterback whenever Miami is down 1 score, and mediocre in all other circumstances.
  24. I feel that this is pretty relevant to the thread title. http://www.explosm.net/db/files/Comics/Rob/follow-your-heart.png
  25. Meh, from what I've seen out of the Cowboys so far this year, their chances are slim. For the Cowboys to make the playoffs, they need to do the following: 1. Start being more disciplined. This is a big one. The team consistently shot themselves in the foot last week with stupid penalties. The team really needs to work on keeping out of the penalties if they are gonna have any hope. 2. Rediscover their ground game. The Cowboys have a really talented three headed monster at running back so far, but the team has gotten very little on the ground so far. Teams often struggle to win consistently without a run game, especially with a streaky QB like Romo, and with the team in the hole they're in, they NEED to find their run game to have a shot. 3. Score more in general. Romo's been great so far, but because of the aforementioned struggles in the ground game, the team is 16th in the league in points per game. Dallas really needs to get on the scoreboard more, but that should come as long as the running game picks up. The Cowboys have talent, but their hole is starting to look a little bit deep. If they can't get the ground game going, they don't have a chance to compete with the surging Giants and Vick-led Eagles. A loss this week for the Cowboys should all but seal their fate.
