It's good to see at least one guy seeing it this way. I agree with him. The cancellation of a season would be so damaging to the league, and to all the individual teams, and I think they're finally realizing that. This weekend is the time that both sides want to get a deal done, and they will both make concessions to get one done. Good to see. Thoughts?

Very good news. I was scared that they might try to change up the name, and it'd end up completely ruining their franchise lol.

Welcome to OTR bro! Stick around.

Chargers SS Bob Sanders' season already over
The Lone Granger replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in AFC Conference Discussion
After that one season where he won Defensive Player of the Year, he's just not able to stay healthy. It's definitely sad to see him struggling to stay healthy like this, but at the same time, it's not surprising. Being that small and trying to hit people so hard, and play the playing-style that he has, it's no wonder that he keeps getting hurt. I wouldn't be surprised to see him retire. After it looked like a good first couple of games in San Diego, he's got to be absolutely depressed. It's probably getting close to time to end the career, and realize that he did have a few good runs, but that it's over and he needs to take care of his body. -
Andre Miller VS Raymond Felton
The Lone Granger replied to Dr. Feelgood's topic in Player Comparisons
Did you see Felton play last year with the Knicks? I mean seriously, he's a beast. Miller used to be a good player, but in his prime he just doesn't have it any more. He's not a great passer, and that's why him and Brandon Roy ran into it so often. He can't play without the ball in his hands, and that's where Felton will help out. He loves the ball, but he gets rid of it quickly. Teammates in Portland will definitely like that style of play much, much more. -
Would love to have him on the Cubs as well .

I think he has one or two more seasons of decent, role-player basketball left in him. Is he ever going to be that superstar again? Absolutely not, but he still showed that he can put the ball in the bucket, and is willing to do it off the bench or however his team needs him. Showed some very nice flashes last season.

Jamaal Charles out for year - Torn ACL
The Lone Granger replied to Lkr's topic in AFC Conference Discussion
Wow, what a blow to the Chiefs' season. They're done now. Without their best player and playmaker, this team has nothing going for them. What a horrible blow to that team, and Charles. -
Definitely great news for Memphis. Gasol is their enforcer in the paint, and with that two-headed front-court monster in Randolph and Gasol, no teams have really been able to match up with them. They have Randolph locked up, now it's time to get that young, franchise center back long-term as well. What kind of money do you guys think Gasol deserves? I personally think he's just about as good, if not better than his brother Pau now as well. Thoughts?

Kanter is a great comparison to Al Horford. Seriously, this guy has a great post game, but also has a good face up game and can hit the mid-range shot. I'm looking forward to seeing who picks him up. He's looking more and more like a good fit for the Wolves to me. Thoughts?

Can't really blame prospects for not wanting to go to Milwaukee. They really don't have a good outlook for the future, and for Jimmer, he doesn't want to play backup to Jennings. He wants to play combo-guard for my Pacers lol. Seriously though, it's sad for the Bucks that players aren't even accepting their workout offers. Thoughts?

Actually, this deal has been discussed before. At least seasons trade deadline, these two teams were talking about the same, straight up swap of Kaman for Iguodala. The Sixers have made it clear that they want to move Iggy, so that's going to decrease the value of the offers. That being said, this deal as a straight up deal, really might not be so bad. Philly needs a center, and Kaman, when healthy is very good. Granted, it's probably not as much as they could have gotten for Iguodala a couple years ago, but it fills a major need for them now. For the Clippers it's obvious. You bring in a guy like Iggy and you're a contender out West. Interesting trade, and it is being discussed I can promise you that, but should be fun to see if the talks go anywhere.

Benching one of your "big three" has got to be hard. That being said, with age starting to set in on both Pierce and Allen, I don't think anyone could blame them for making the move. Green will be reading to step in and play a bigger role next year, so I expect them to at least seriously look into making the starting switch. Thoughts?

Reggie Miller and Brad Miller (Pacers)

Kareem and Brandon Rush (Pacers)

I guess this is a good move, but if Irving comes in and proves right away that he should start, should they stick with this? Is this just Scott putting some confidence in Davis and trying to get Baron pumped for the season? Or do you guys think he's serious that he's going to start Davis no matter what? Thoughts?
-
This is a very interesting move. Barea is undersized, but he'll play harder, and probably will have a big impact as a starter. Great move from Carlisle. Gusty, but good move. Thoughts?

Brooks has been picking up a lot of interest lately, and if he works out a couple more times like he has the past few, he'll work his way into the mid-first round. This kid has about everything you look for in a draft pick, but he does have the possibility to be a bust if he doesn't continue to work hard on his game like he has been. That being said, he looks good. What do you guys think of Brooks? Thoughts?

Wow, Iverson has fallen so fast, but I expect some team to at least bring him in for a workout. He could probably come in for about 15 minutes per game and contribute some scoring, but that's about it, and we all know that Iverson doesn't want to be on the bench at all. Thoughts?

In my opinion it's a great deal for both teams. Philly gets rid of Iggy, who is a great player, but is crowding Evan Turner. Also, the Warriors are able to give Monta Ellis away for a great price. Many people are expecting them to settle for him, but they let Stephen Curry run the team, and bring in another guy who can hit big shots and play defense. Should be a good trade for both teams if it happens.

Warriors hire Mark Jackson as head coach
The Lone Granger replied to Nitro's topic in Golden State Warriors Team Forum
Love this hire! He's got a great point guard mentality and with Stephen Curry running that team (once they trade Monta Ellis), and that team improves automatically. Jackson will run a set offense, so there won't be any of this run around and jack up shots offense anymore. Sorry to Keith Smart, but he just didn't know how to run his team. I fully expect the addition of Mark Jackson to help turn this Warriors team around right away. Great hire. -
Well, I mean I guess I can see his point, but I don't really think we need an athletic big this early in the draft. We can get a decent one with our pick early in the second round. We don't have a knock-down shooter, especially with Dunleavy leaving via free agency, so why not just bring in Fredette who would be the best shooter we've had since Reggie. Sorry, but I think Jimmer is the perfect fit for us right now. Thoughts?
-
This is going to be an interesting draft. Beasley does seem to be a great fit with the Wolves, and that's why I think it's very likely they try to deal the pick, but then again Williams might be a better talent. What teams do you guys see being interested in Beasley if he does indeed get placed on the block? And what would teams have to give up in return for him? Thoughts?
-
Both coaches would be a good fit for Detroit. I think that Woodson would be the best candidate for them, but maybe the youngster Sampson would be better in some ways because of his excitement with a young team. What do you guys think? Personally I'll say that Woodson would be a great coach for them to have, but what are your guys' thoughts?

Yet another mock draft with the Pacers selecting Fredette. I'm really liking the way things are starting to shape up this draft. Looks like a very solid mock to me.
