I would have to go with Alonzo Mourning. Why? First, because he actually had post moves, unlike Dwight who basically gets his points off of beautiful passes or alleyoops for dunks. Second, because they are almost even on the defensive side of the ball. Alonzo was just about as amazing of a shot-blocker as Howard is today. Thus, my pick is Alonzo Mourning.

Pacers need to pick up this win! Let's get above .500 and get this party started in Indiana! Let's go Pacers.

Well, let me put it this way. Why fix something when it ain't broke? Hill doesn't mind coming off the bench, and it's actually a very effective system with Parker starting and Hill off the bench. The only reason Tony Parker's name has "dropped in value", is because he had injury problems last year. Because of those injury issues, people jumped to the conclusion that he was past his prime, and that his career in San Antonio was drawing to an end. I counter with looking at his first game of the season against my Indiana Pacers. His statline was as follows; 20 Points, 9 Assists, 3 Rebounds, 3 Steals. In my opinion, those are not the numbers of an "aging veteran point guard". Those are the numbers of an angry point guard in his prime, trying to prove himself once again. It's a great move for the Spurs, and the cash is just about right for a point guard of his caliber.

I'm going to throw a very unknown name into the discussion. What about a guy in Indiana named A.J. Price? First, he is a very good spot up shooter, and doesn't really like to create his own shot. He's a good passer, so he could run the point if the Heat needed him. All that being said, another factor in this, is that the Pacers probably would have interest in Chalmers, and may also flip a 2nd round pick for some cash considering their need for a bigger named free agent this offseason. Just throwing that name out there, not sure if you guys even know anything about him, but if you don't you should look up some video clips of him. Just a thought .

In Dwight's defense, he hasn't reached his prime yet, so it's very hard to establish a complete opinion of his game in his prime. Who knows, maybe four or five years down the road when he reaches his prime, who knows what kind of strength and skills he will have. At 24 years old, you can't establish what kind of player someone will end up being, but I do agree that Dwight would still have his hands full with Shaq.

I love this idea. European teams bring great competition, and a very diverse playing style than everyday NBA play. In all honesty, adding European teams would not only add more excitement to the games, but it would also bring in more NBA overall fans. People in Europe would follow the NBA a lot more than they do now, and also, I think it would be a good break for NBA teams to travel across seas to play. Sounds like a good plan to me!

No doubt it was Shaq. Kobe is a beast as well, but you just can't beat the problems he caused for defenses. (1). While he wasn't a great free throw shooter, even when he missed his free throws it still got the opposing teams big men in foul trouble. (2). If you didn't foul him, he would dunk on your face. (3). He was just as much a team leader, if not more than Kobe was in his prime. Kobe has learned how to be that leader later on in his career though. Those are just three reasons that I came up with. With Shaq in the game, he would be going to the free throw line double-digits each game, and in my opinion you just cannot replace that. He hit around a quarter or a half of them per game, so there's a decent amount of points from the line, but he would just tire down the opposing teams bigs, and also get them in foul trouble. Just an amazing performance every single night out there, no one could stop him.

That is a concern, but with the way he's been working out and working on his game I don't see that happening. He's been in the gym literally more than most of the Pacers combined over the summer, and he's the first one into practice and the last one to leave. Also, in case you haven't noticed, he's a very driven player. If he wants something, he'll go to anything to attain that, and he wants to be in the best shape, and play the best basketball he can. I'm not worried about Roy gaining weight and losing his skills.

Well, to be honest I've been very high on the Spurs so far this season. With Tony Parker coming off a disappointing injury-plagued season, you know he's out to prove to people that he hasn't lost a step like the "experts" were saying he had. He showed against my Pacers that he still has the lightning fast moves to get to the bucket and finish. Tim Duncan looked amazing after losing that weight over the offseason, and I also liked what I saw from Jefferson, Blair, and George Hill. Whoever says that their bench is bad, just has not watched this team ever. With guys like Hill, McDyess, and even Bonner coming off the bench you can't say that they are weak. Sure, they may not have flashy names, but they are all very fundamentally sound, and good basketball players. In answer to the question how far could they go, I could see them making a play for the Conference Finals, but more than likely lose in the second round. I'll be rooting for them assuming they aren't playing the Pacers.

That look from Jackson I called to be down, but he couldn't connect. Hibbert has really impressed me. I was expecting big numbers, but he's been playing great all around basketball. He's hitting shots from the outside (not threes, but long two's), and he's been playing great defense without fouling as well. Great job from the Pacers so far! Can't wait to see where this season takes us.

Well in his first two games, here are his stats: vs. Spurs: 4 Points, 2 Assists, 3 Rebounds, 1 Block, 2 Steals, 1-5 FGM-A, 0-3 3PM-A, 2-2 FTM-A. vs. Bobcats: 8 Points, 2 Assists, 3 Rebounds, 1 Block, 0 Steals, 3-6 FGM-A, 2-4 3PM-A. What do you guys think through his first two games? Shooting could be a lot better, but against Charlotte he had a very solid game off the bench for us.

Well there goes that story. Hansbrough got in the game, and O'Brien was putting him out there until the buzzer sounded. Here are his final stats for tonights game vs. the Bocats: 20 Minutes, 12 Points, 4 Rebounds, 2 Steals, 1 Block, 3-4 FGM-A, 6-6 FTM-A. Not only did he put up those very solid numbers, he hit a contested mid-range jumper with about a minute left to go that put them up by three, and then after a made basket from Charlotte, he got fouled and put in two from the foul line. Great job from Psycho T tonight. I have a feeling he might be back in the rotation, if not starting next game. Great performance from him tonight!

Big win for the Pacers! We get the first one of the season, and it was a very clutch win. We decided it was time to play and were able to come back from being down and beat a very solid team in the Charlotte Bobcats. Great win for us! Keep it up Pacers!

I wouldn't necessarily he is underrated, but he is overdoubted. Simply because he had injury troubles last year, doesn't mean that you should throw him under the bus. He proved against the Pacers that he's ready to go this year and be the same Tony Parker who led the league in points in the paint. I can't wait to see what he does this year, but in answer to the question, not underrated, but definitely overdoubted.

Big move for the Rockets here. They've been looking fairly depleted on the defensive side of the ball from their bigs (Brad Miller), but the addition of Dampier will bring that defense back. With Ming having to play just 24 minutes, and not in one game of a back-to-back, they definitely need more depth up in the frontcourt. Great move for Houston.

This is very interesting, and bad news for the Pistons. I can't really blame him for not wanting to lock himself up longterm in a situation that just does not look very good for the future. They have some young talent, but in all honesty they don't play as a team, and they don't run an offense that he really fits well in. He'll still get his numbers this year, but I expect him to look for something that he fits better in. I would love to have him in Indiana as our starting shooting guard next year. That would be an amazing fit in my opinion.
