LeBron: No One Can Defend Me One-On-One
The Lone Granger replied to reno's topic in Miami Heat Team Forum
There's no way that anyone in the current NBA could defend LeBron one on one. Most NBA players can't be guarded one on one, much less arguably the best player in the game currently. Easy vote for yes. -
John Kuester fired as Head Coach of Pistons
The Lone Granger replied to AboveLegit's topic in Detroit Pistons Team Forum
It's about time that he gets fired. Now maybe that Detroit team can start living up to the potential it showed flashes of at times last season. Alongside the Lakers, I'd look out for the Minnesota Timberwolves to look at bringing him in as an assistant. They've made it clear that Rambis has to re-vamp his staff, so that could be a possibility. -
I'll Be Back to Help with Activity
The Lone Granger replied to The Lone Granger's topic in Red Carpet Introductions
Thanks guys, glad some people want to see me stick here lol. Just been busy and with work the only thing now after school is finally over (until my sophmore year of college next year) I'm pretty much able to post around like I used to . -
http://www.iamagm.com/news/2011/06/04/rumors.bulls.explore.deals.carlos.boozer.okc.looking.trade.first.round.pick I'll tell you what...if the Bulls trade Boozer and get a good wing player, they will be nasty to try and stop. Down the stretch they played very well with Taj Gibson in Boozer's place, and that's what would happen if a trade were to happen. That being said, what teams could you guys see being interested in a Boozer trade, and what would they have to give up? Thoughts?

I've been posting here with some decent activity, but after reading Real Deal's post about taking time off, I'll do my best to help create some discussion here. Not promising a ton of posts, but I will reply to more topics that interest me and make some time when I get online for OTR exclusively. Love the basketball talk here, and let's get this site hopping even without Real Deal in the current picture. Let's make this site something special so that when Real Deal logs in, it's better each time.

Who should the Wolves select with the #2 pick?
The Lone Granger replied to Dash's topic in Minnesota Timberwolves Team Forum
You know what, I'm going to go with a very interesting selection here. I say that they go ahead and take Enes Kanter. Like everyone has been saying, they have Michael Beasley who is a great small forward, and wouldn't do well getting taken out of the starting role. Also, Kanter would add a post presence (which Love really isn't), and another good rebounder to help Love with the glass. Can't fault this pick even though it's not the sexiest pick. -
Very sad to hear bro. You've been a great help to me, and I've loved reading your posts. I'll definitely start stepping it up to help the site while you're gone, and when you come back, we'll be hear as active as ever. That being said, I will be keeping you in my prayers, and will look forward to the day that you post that you're back full time.

There is no way after his workout yesterday that Jimmer Fredette would slip by the Pacers at #15 if he is still on the board. His workout went well, and Bird loved the shooting ability that Jimmer showed. His interviews with the media have made him a fan favorite already and the vibe from Indianapolis is that we want Jimmer! Just thought I'd put that out there.

Welcome to the site bro! Stick around.

Update Very interesting to see the Suns getting involved. Brooks will be the backup, so where does that leave Flynn? Would they give him some time at shooting guard, even though his height would be a mismatch for opposing teams? I'm not sure why they'd go after Flynn when they already have a starter in the backup role. What do you guys think they'd have to give up though? Thoughts?

These two teams both could use an athletic small forward, and Williams is that guy. Think about Williams going up and catching alley-oops from John Wall. In all honesty, a deal involving Andray Blatche/JaVale McGee, Nick Young, and another piece or two very well could intrigue Washington. What do you guys think these two teams would need to give up? Thoughts?

Update Flynn would be a nice fit behind Bayless. Calderon will be dealt before the beginning of the season from what I've been hearing, and bringing in Flynn would help fill that void along with Bayless. Maybe a change of scenery and allowing him to just score the ball would resurrect his career. Thoughts?

Wow, well back to the Dwight Howard likely leaving. I really thought that the Magic were going to be able to get something done, but apparently not. This pretty much means that he won't be staying in Orlando now that he literally came out and said it's false. He wants to leave if he doesn't see something big soon.

I'm not going to get into the Jennings-Rubio debate, but I think Rubio is going to make more of a difference than a lot of people will ever see on paper. What has been the T-Wolves' #1 struggles over the last few years? They have a great front court, fairly good wing players, but no point guard to run the show. So what if Rubio doesn't come in and score the ball incredibly well? He will get his assists, that is a fact. Look at those numbers, and turn that Euroleague minus into a plus for him. Who is he passing the ball to for shots? NBA-caliber players? No, they're guys who aren't good enough to play in the best league, so they're not making their shots. I've watched some of his games, and one in particular he had 4 assists, but should have had about 11. The dude is going to come in, and finally be a guy who runs the offense for Minnesota. They haven't had that in a long time, and that's what he is going to come in and do. Huge news for Minnesota, and expect a much better year for them next year.

Jay Triano out as head coach of Raptors
The Lone Granger replied to htown11's topic in Toronto Raptors Team Forum
In all honesty, Triano isn't a good coach. The guy I see them going after is Frank Vogel. He's good with young players and also would be able to help motivate a team that has gotten used to losing over the last couple years. What other coaches do you see them going after? Maybe Rick Adelman? And as for an update, I have read that Lawrence Frank is the front-runner and they are interested. I'll get a source if I can. -
Lakers Will Retire Shaq's Jersey
The Lone Granger replied to The Artesticle's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
This is great news. There were some people who doubted that they'd retire it because of how he left and went to another team...or three. When he went to Boston I had this thought, but I knew he'd be raised to the roof as a Laker. Great news to hear. -
There are quite a few teams that will be interested, but at the same time, he just isn't a point guard. He's a shooting guard in a very small body, but as a backup to a team like Washington for John Wall might be a very solid pickup. What teams do you guys see interested, and what would they have to give up. Thoughts?

I'd still want to settle down and have a family. In all honesty why would someone want to just freestyle and waste their lives without having someone there. Maybe that's just me, but I would definitely want to settle down with one girl and have a family. Have some kids to teach how to play ball.
-
Very unfortunate to see him go like this. He's been such a huge part of this organization and to see him go because of violations just sucks. you know he'll get another job elsewhere, but there is truly a sad day for the Ohio State family.
-
So basically they want both Irving and Derrick Williams. That sounds pretty good. Assuming that the Wolves do decide to try to move that 8th and 20th pick along with Beasley or Johnson, then I think they'd go after Danny Granger. Just putting that out there. If the Cavs get this done though, it would be amazing for their franchise.
-
In all honesty the Pacers will show some interest. They've been looking for that kind of a power forward for quite some time. As for what we can give back, I'm really not sure. Picks would be the most likely asset that you guys would be interested in, but another guy is Brandon Rush. He'd be a good project for you and would add some shooting. What would you guys want from Indiana?

Source: Kevin McHale agrees to deal
The Lone Granger replied to Real Deal's topic in Houston Rockets Team Forum
Yeah man, what would you think of Vogel if he had been hired? I know he had an interview there. -
This is really sad to see. First off, Pippen is a really close friend of Jordan's and basically just said that Jordan wasn't exactly what made him famous. I'm sorry, but defensively MJ was one of the best and I would even say the best guard to every play defense in the NBA. As for making his teammates better, you have to be kidding me Scottie P by saying that he didn't make his teammates better just like LeBron does. He averaged 5.3 assists per game in his career, and he always dished to his teammates. I don't get where this is coming from, but no LeBron is by no means better than Jordan. He's not even better than Kobe Bryant as a player right now in my opinion. Horrible to see Pippen do this.
