Blazers Considering Asking Roy To Retire
The Lone Granger replied to Jammin's topic in Portland Trail Blazers Team Forum
This is very disrespectful to Roy, but at the same time I can see their point. The doctor that did Roy's surgery straight up said that he has 1-2 years if that to play, and after playing on it for about a year including the Playoffs and workouts, he's done enough damage that it's slowed him down already. I think he's just about done with his career, as much as it sucks to say. There would be some teams interested in acquiring him for a second round pick, but even then he couldn't contribute every night because of soreness in his knees. What do you see the outcome of this being? -
Source: Kevin McHale agrees to deal
The Lone Granger replied to Real Deal's topic in Houston Rockets Team Forum
I'm still very surprised that they decided to go with McHale. He's just not the best choice here. In all honesty, I thought that they should have gone after Dwyane Casey or Frank Vogel but they decided to go this route and I think in the next couple years they will regret it. -

Game changing mistakes... do you hold a grudge?
The Lone Granger replied to Scout200's topic in General NBA Discussion
If he's on my team then I may not trust him with the ball in clutch situations, but no I don't hold a grudge unless it's to lose a Playoff or Series or something like that. It happens to everyone so no I don't hold a grudge. -
I don't think they want George to play the three. They'd have Derrick Williams at small forward, and like they did in the latter parts of the regular season and in the Playoffs last season they started George at shooting guard. He has the athleticism and skills to play the two, and that's where I think they want him. That won't be a problem.

Heat's Mike Miller Thinking of Daughter
The Lone Granger replied to htown11's topic in Miami Heat Team Forum
That's so tough to see someone going through that. My prayers are definitely with him and his family. Hopefully everything with his daughter turns out alright and he's able to make a deep Playoff run as well before the Heat get knocked out. Great to see him having success on the floor at least, even though all these complications. -
Wow! This is sounding like a possible trade scenario, but just a possibility obviously right now. The Wolves would be getting Granger along with the Pacers' first rounder I am guessing, and probably some other nice pieces and Indiana would be acquiring Rubio, Beasley, and the #2 overall pick. What else would Indy have to add? Future picks? Other players? What would you guys think? Needless to say, I'm excited about this, and I will be inputting more thoughts as replies start rolling in. Thoughts?

Blazers eye Danny Ferry as general manager
The Lone Granger replied to Dash's topic in Portland Trail Blazers Team Forum
He'd be a good replacement for Portland, but at the same time, do they really want to add a guy who's been known to spend freely and not get much good play out of those guys he brings in? If he comes in and just stays patient with the roster that's great, but if he tries to rush things like he did with Cleveland, then they could have a problem. -

Yahoo: Rockets owner to meet with Kevin McHale
The Lone Granger replied to Dash's topic in Houston Rockets Team Forum
I'm just not sure what Houston is thinking here. First, they fire a great coach in Adelman simply because of injuries making his team do poorly, and then they are seriously considering going out and hiring one of the worst coaches in recent history that the league has seen? I'm sorry, but McHale is an awful coach, and the Rockets shouldn't even consider hiring him. If I were a Rockets fans, I'd be pretty upset about this. -
Bucks Interested in SG Alec Burks
The Lone Granger replied to Jenneral's topic in Milwaukee Bucks Team Forum
Tristan Thompson seems like the most likely pick for them to me, but at the same time Burks would fill a major need. They haven't had a good scoring two-guard since Redd started having injury problems. Burks does need to hit the gym and get an NBA body-style, but he is a good shooter and could provide a solid wing option right off the bat. That being said, like Real Deal has been stating, there's another guy named Marcus Morris who a lot of people forget about as a possible candidate for the Bucks to select. He's easily better offensively than either Thompson or Burks (right now), and would fill that power forward void. In all honesty, I'd say draft Morris. He seems to be the best option that will be on the board likely at #10. -
Raptors Interested in Rudy Gay
The Lone Granger replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Toronto Raptors Team Forum
I just don't see it happening. He's going to stick in Memphis before they deal him to Toronto for average players. Who could the Raptors give up that would both interest the Grizzlies and be enough to acquire Rudy Gay? I can't see anything that would get the deal done, so I have to believe there is no chance of this happening. -
Out of these two I think it's the Thunder. If they win this game in Dallas (and they have two of the better players in the NBA in Durant and Westbrook), then they get to come home where they are almost unbeatable, and try to tie the series up. Durant and Westbrook need to play together like they normally do, and if they do that, then I think OKC has a solid shot to make a comeback. I'm sorry but with what I saw in Game 4 of the Heat-Bulls series, this Heat team wants the series so bad. Did you see the last few minutes especially with the game on the line how hard they played to get the win? They put everything they possibly could out on the floor and won the ball game. I think the Thunder have the better chance, although I don't think either will.

Who would make a better coach?
The Lone Granger replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in General NBA Discussion
There's no doubt that Magic Johnson would make the better coach in my opinion. Sir Charles just doesn't have a great mind for the game. He was able to play it, but there's no way that he could direct others to play well. Magic wins this without question. -
Trade Rumour: 9 Player Trade
The Lone Granger replied to headliner's topic in Toronto Raptors Team Forum
As a Pacers fan, I'm not sure what to think of this. George does have the potential to be an All-Star, but at the same time, picking up both Henry and Mayo would be huge for us. The problem for us, is taking on Calderon's contract, and where does he play? We have A.J. Price and Lance Stephenson behind Collison, and Bird loves those two so what makes us want to bring in his contract if we probably won't play him too much? Maybe we would because he's a pass first guard who can shoot when needed but I'm still not sold. As for Memphis, I like it for them. They get a solid big man in Bargnani, who will add some good three point shooting for them, and also bringing in Paul George is HUGE for them. I'm guessing he could step in and become a starter for them right off the bat if they wanted him to. They like Allen's defense, but George honestly is a bit better defensively and can shoot and score the ball as well. He'd be a nice addition, and then Barbosa would just be a decent role player off the bench. Toronto does make out the best in this deal though. They get the best player in Ruday Gay, and then they also add a good piece in Dahntay Jones. Jones will play solid defense, and will bring a leader emotionally on the court, which is something that the Raptors haven't had the last few years, honestly since Vince Carter left. Bosh had some emotion but he never led with it. Adding Posey would also be an underrated move because he'd bring a veteran leader to help the youngsters on the team, and he could fill in and play some minutes off the bench if needed. -
Mike Brown Next Lakers Coach?
The Lone Granger replied to ?QuestionMark?'s topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
From what I've been hearing, Kobe Bryant isn't too happy with this hiring. It's official now, that Brown is going to be the next coach, and rumors are coming out of L.A. that Kobe is very upset that they didn't decide to hire Brian Shaw. Personally, I think Brown has been given a bad rep as a coach, because in Cleveland he wasn't really allowed to coach, it was all about LeBron running the show. He's also very understanding of how to coach a team with a superstar, so I think he'll end up fitting well with Kobe also. Overall, it's a very solid hiring. He won't be a Phil Jackson, but he will be a solid coach. -
Very big win there, revenging the loss from last Saturday. Now we just have to keep winning, especially tomorrow against the Bucks in a HUGE game!

Let me introduce you to Paul George. He was the 12th pick in the 2010 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers, and mainly drafted to at some point replace Danny Granger. All that being said, things have changed drastically with head coach Jim O'Brien being fired recently. George has started getting more minutes alongside Granger, and his fearless ability to drive to the bucket and finish allows Granger to focus more on the outside shooting. Before I go too far into the article that I have planned here in the introduction, I should probably give you some more background on George. He went to college at Fresno State, and was the star player there for his entire collegiate career. The main thing that Indiana liked about him was his amazing athleticism, but his shot is also pure as well. That being said, I'm going to go into a couple key points about his future with the franchise, and how he is going to affect Indiana's future. 1. His ability to become a starter in this league. There's absolutely no question about George's potential, and the fact that at some point he will become a very good NBA starter. His athletic ability, and also his shot will give defenses a lot of trouble defending him, especially if he keeps going to the bucket as hard as he has been lately. Another thing that really helps Paul George fit well with the Pacers is his demeanor both on and off the court. He's calm, collected, and doesn't let things get him rattled. If you've followed him at all, you'll see that his name has come up in the papers multiple times, but it's always for doing good work with the community. On the court, he just plays basketball and doesn't let anything else get his attention. If he continues to keep himself focused like he has been, then I don't see any reason that he can't become a star in this league. He definitely has the potential to become a very, very good basketball player. http://www2.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Paul+George+Miami+Heat+v+Indiana+Pacers+zKUJvVzngJgl.jpg 2. The trust and fan support from his team. Something that's very key for any young player is to have his organization and the fans supporting him. The fans are already starting to enjoy him in Indiana, and have been major supporters for him already this year. He’s done things on the court that have made them approve of him and welcome him to the Pacers, but most importantly what he’s done off the court has been impressive as well. Assuming he keeps growing his game, and learning more about how to play in the NBA, the Indiana Pacers very well could have a star in the making. 3. The smartness of his game. This is the final point that I’ll make in this article, but it’s something that is so overlooked in his game. Not many young players would have the presence of mind to be able to understand what is a good shot, and what isn’t. When he’s driving to the bucket, George just has an instinct to know when he’s going to be able to get to the bucket and finish, or when he has to pull up and pass the ball back out and set up the offense again. Also, for being an impressive three-point shooter in college, he has realized that the three-ball in the NBA game is a lot different and has decided that he should put the ball on the floor and try to get to the rim more than fire up a long shot. Overall his game has improved from the very first moment he stepped onto an NBA court. He’s progressed from being a solid bench player, to now being the starting shooting guard for the Indiana Pacers. If he keeps at it the way he has been, then I’m expecting huge things from this guy in the future. Just wrote this up myself, and would love to get some comments!

http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/212661/Pacers_Working_To_Shed_Jekyll_And_Hyde_Image It's been a very up-and-down season for the Pacers, and as a Pacers fan it's been very frustrating to watch. We've come to play against big teams, and beat teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Boston Celtics, and Chicago Bulls, but then we turn around and falter against teams like the Detroit Pistons and Sacramento Kings. If we want to make the Playoffs, we have to start playing solid basketball for the rest of the season, and we need to start that right now. Do you guys think Indiana can get things figured out and make the postseason? Or do you think they will lose down the stretch and allow either the Bobcats or Bucks to take the spot? Thoughts?

Arenas has lost that step that gave him the ability to get around defenders. He was never great at it, but the fact that he could do it made the defenders at least respect the drive and he'd end up pulling up and getting a decent look at a shot. He's still a solid shooter, but defenders are always guarding against his shot and that's why he hasn't been able to do anything in my opinion.

Deron Williams- “No One Wanted To Play In Utah”
The Lone Granger replied to AboveLegit's topic in Utah Jazz Team Forum
This has been a very rough season for the Jazz. Things just have completely fallen apart for them with both their long-tenured coach retiring and Deron Williams leaving and now starting to talk some crap about the team that he swore he wanted to stay with. Very sad to see the Jazz starting to go downhill. Jimmer would definitely bring some crowd excitement back into the building. -
F4: (4) Kentucky vs. (3) UConn
The Lone Granger replied to Real Deal's topic in General NCAA Discussion
This is going to be one heck of a game, but once again I can't go against my man Kemba Walker. It will come down to the last five minutes again, and he'll take over and get UConn the win. There are good matchups all over the court, but I think the Huskies are able to get this one done and move on to face Butler in the National Championship. -
F4: (11) VCU vs. (8) Butler
The Lone Granger replied to Real Deal's topic in General NCAA Discussion
I'm really excited about this game. It all comes down to whether VCU is dropping their threes like they have been so far in the tournament. We all know that Butler is going to run a good defense against them, and contest shots, but can they drain them anyway? Also, will Butler be able to run their offense like normal? And can they hit free throws? Should be an amazing game.
