  1. lol Nate you're still not over the lottery? Man, this is like when the Spurs got Tim Duncan (they had the 3rd best chance to win it, but they already had David Robinson). Just be prepared for the Wizards to sweep your Nets year after year.
  2. Not a bad way to start his NBA career, as he won the Summer League Most Outstanding Player award. http://www.washingtonwizardsblog.com/2010/07/19/wall-named-summer-league-most-outstanding-player/
  3. Okay let's both rephrase this part. By decision making I mean a dumb pass he lobs up (while in mid-air) to McGee, or a 100mph ball to a player not looking. And there are times where he leads a player, but the player is not aware of that play. I don't think they're off target, they just make you shake your head like "Whyyy did you throw that ball over there?" But like you said, it's all about chemistry. And he got better at it already.
  4. The Good: Wall is showing everyone he's a pure point guard with a pass-first mentality. He dished out 28 assists in his first three games. He really knows where his teammates are. Wall and McGee are becoming a deadly PG-C combination. The Wizards fall apart when Wall is not in the game or does not touch the ball on a possession. He seems to have somewhat learned to run the halfcourt offense a lot faster than expected. He is getting better and better at the pick and roll game. Playing at the pro level does not seem to have slowed Wall down one bit. He is the fastest and quickest player on the court at all times. All of the moves he did at high school and college are also working for him in the NBA. He's got a lot of killer crossovers moves. Nobody can guard the guy without committing a foul. This guy finished strong. He really knows how to draw contact/fouls. He has also improved his free throw shooting tremendously, shooting over 87% from the line. Wall is very clutch. He demands the ball in his hands, but for the sakes of winning the game, not to be selfish. He's shown he can take over games and play 1-on-5 if his team is struggling. Wall may be one of the smartest players we've seen in a while. He's constantly running his mouth to his teammates. Just great overall IQ and court vision...he really knows the game of basketball. Wall has a great heart. He hates to lose. He dives for lose balls, contests every shot, and gives it 110% all the time. He has great work ethic. He's a really nice, humble guy. He brings a winning mentality. He makes everyone around him better. On defense, Wall is a pain to try to get around. He has a nose for the ball when playing off-ball, and has the quickness and awareness to jump in passing lanes and pick them off. He forces a lot of turnovers. On the ball, he is extremely tenacious. He does not leave his man alone. If his opposition takes his eye off the ball for a split second, Wall is going to pick his pocket in a heartbeat. He can guard both guard positions. His 39" vertical leap helps him soar to block shots. Wall plays with a lot of energy. One of his key elements is the fact that he is just as good with his left as he is with his right hand. The Bad: Wall hasn't yet developed a consistent jump shot. There are times where he looks like he's on fire, then he goes on streaks of 0-4, 0-5 shooting. He seems to get frustrated at times. Wall, as of right not, is a bad three point shooter...has two airballs already in four games. A dominant mid-range game is also lacking. He doesn't have a signature runner yet. Wall can get out of control sometimes, trying to use his athleticism only and can get carried away. His passes are almost always on target, but his decision making can be questionable sometimes. Other Comments: Both of his two biggest weaknesses (outside shot, turnovers) are common in rookies and are the easiest parts of the game to improve on. In his first two games, he had a total of 16 turnovers. In his last two, he had a total of just five. A bad game for John Wall (mainly because he shot around 25% from the field) is one where he still had 21 points, 10 assists, and 7 rebounds. If his teammates are not getting it done, he can turn the switch and become a prolific scorer (scored 31 points last game to lead Washington back from a 16-point deficit). John Wall will be the best point guard in the NBA. He's certainly got the mindset to be at least. Oh, and, he's got the skills as well.
  5. Wait...who are you? lol all of you guys kept changing your names Edit: nevermind, you're definitely Eddy. And I know you want to see me naked.
  6. I'll try to post a pic some time to see what you guys think. (no homo)
  7. Because I look like these guys http://images.tmuscle.com/forum_images/8/5/85b7f_ORIG-6250.jpg lol
  8. Anybody know how to get a wider waist? My lats, traps, shoulders, and that entire area is way too huge for my tiny waist... I keep getting bigger everywhere, making my waist look even smaller. I know most of you WANT that, but I don't really like it personally.
  9. ...just had to say that haha. I usually check in to read, just never find the time to post. I'm sure I will once the season starts though. Another great game by "ER" or whatever they said his nickname was. 21 points, 10 assists, 7 boards...in limited time again. His outside shot was way off though today, but he only had 3 turnovers which really got me excited (and only 1 of them was his fault so that's great). This guy is the real deal. His defense is absolutely PHENOMENAL.
  10. My first post in MONTHS: Poe, you're absolutely wrong about everything you said.
  11. That. I wouldn't mind trading Gil and signing another free agent though, or just start Miller. I think we have 21M in cap room, and if we don't re-sign Howard, we'll have like 32M, nearly enough for two max contracts?! Am I missing something or am I right? But either way, I do think John Wall will help bring in a star like Amare or Bosh...heck, even LeBron
  12. I was at the game. I got the crowd into it. I lost my voice the next day (most of yesterday). I don't think I ever yelled so much at the refs before. They made some crucially biased calls all game long, especially a couple near the end. Blatche is playing like an allstar ever since we traded Jamison, and guys like Foye and McGeeeeeeee are definitely showing promise.
  13. I'm not worried about the draft, I just want FREE AGENTS babyyyy!! But to answer your question, definitely Turner...but in terms of potential, Aminu would be nice to have.
  14. It's always hard to say who's "best" at anything, especially when talking about in-game dunking. Some players, such as Will Bynum and Ronnie Brewer, could be the best dunkers if they wanted to be, but they don't play for exciting teams and they don't always pull the rim down to make it look "cool". I think those two smaller guys are capable of throwing it down whenever, they just choose not to. Regardless, Shannon Brown is certainly a candidate. I also think Darius Songaila is a great dunker. He once had a dunk in 2004 :o
  15. You can't blame the snow. The DC area got around 30 inches and the Capitals-Penguins game had a full house. Like seriously yo, not one empty seat. I think the Nets just.......suck?
  16. Not me. I'm super pissed about keeping Jamison. I absolutely hate the guy (as a player). I wouldn't mind trading him straight up for Scalabrine. It would save us a crap load of cap room and at least we would play SOME defense.
  17. That Caps/Pens game might have been the game of the year, at least for the Caps. They were down 4-1 at one point, but the awesome fans kept them in the game. I love how they all came out and rocked the red even in 2-3 ft of snow. Ovie for MVP 3rd straight year?
  18. I enjoy every second of it. I sometimes TiVo it so I can go back and fap at his Kobe-like fadeaways...only problem is he doesn't make them.
  19. Nice article. And we gotta get rid of Gil's contract and Stevenson's as well. If we could somehow get T-Mac for Jamison or Butler, that would be awesome. It would save us 22M
  20. Gerald Wallace turned into a cocky "King Wallace" all of the sudden, and I don't like it. Anyway, Jamison is as good as gone. His presence on the floor can be felt by everyone...in a negative way. I wouldn't be surprised if someone pulled out a stat which showed that he gives up 40 PPG.
  21. Hey, how's it going, guys? After OTR got hacked, I never really helped this community climb back to the top, and I truly apologize for that. I've been extremely busy with college, girlfriend, work, etc. But a bunch of you (you know who you are) talked me into coming back so I finally did. I probably wont be posting nearly as much as I used to back in the day, but I'll check the site regularly and even recruit some friends. So what did I miss over the past five, six, seven months? Yeah, I'm totally aware of Gilbert's hilarious jokes and the Nets' remarkable season. I mean...what did I miss on OTR?
  22. Besides Campbell, Chris Samuels, and Cooley, the Skins offense is just plain BAD. Nice to see Orakpo taking over the past 3 games. :glasses:
