Who will represent the East in the NBA finals?
DaFranchise03 replied to *Swish*'s topic in General NBA Discussion
My bad they didnt cruise but they showed signs of life. I dont know Jermaine and Shaq can be healthy and effective enough to help them get past the Heat now. I would like to see that but i dont know if they could. -
Houston Rockets 2011 offseason thread
DaFranchise03 replied to ChosenOne's topic in Houston Rockets Team Forum
I agree if they can trade for a superstar w/o those two it would be great but our best chance to get one is to include Martin. I doubt a team trading their star would want Scola considering most teams trading a star are rebuilding. I like Scola but I think Patterson could become a legit starter. If they can get someone good while Scola still has value then do it. Like i said I think he has already peaked and trading his huge deal is only gonna get harder. -

I agree they have a chance. Its easier to judge by what you see rather than potential. When I see them play, they not only look older but lost. Lakers and Celtics both kind of cruised through the regular season last year to save up for the playoffs. Lakers didnt end this season very but at least showed something when they went on that run after the all-star break. Since the Perkins trade you really cant say the same about the Celtics. -

Offer whatever it takes to get Nene or DeAndre Jordan. Offer small deal to Yao. Try to trade Scola this year cause he has already peaked and his contract is HUGE. Include Martin in the deal if it means getting a great player. I think getting Iggy would be good complimentary player. He is a good defender and decent scorer. -

Even after the Perkins trade i thought it would still be them but the team imploded. I think gonna be the Heat vs Bulls in Conference Finals with the Heat winning in 7. Bulls have great team D but unless Boozer steps up the big three will be to much. -
Most Improved Player of the Year
DaFranchise03 replied to Real Deal's topic in General NBA Discussion
MIP doesnt regard team success as much so Kevin Love wins it. I think LA is the better player but that doesnt matter here. -
DeAndre Jordan dreamt of playing for Rockets
DaFranchise03 replied to Dash's topic in Houston Rockets Team Forum
Rockets gonna have to offer close to 10 mil and i would be all for it. Centers dont come cheap. If the team is stupid enough to offer 5 mil to Brad they have to offer twice that for a real center. -
Since the beginning i have hated on Adelman but he is still a great coach. Part of me wants to see him stay and see what he can do with a legit center guarding the paint and a shutdown perimeter defender.

Are players actually told to tank?
DaFranchise03 replied to kingfish's topic in General NBA Discussion
Teams dont want to mess with their players mind and get them to believe they cant beat a certain team. They got to do it subtly like the Griz did. -
Will there be any first round upsets?
DaFranchise03 replied to Buckets!'s topic in General NBA Discussion
Griz are a good regular season team but i dont think they have enough to win a series. I think the Blazers would be the Mavs or Lakers(if Bynum is out) -

Neither the Lakers or Heat will win the championship this year. -
NBA Lockout "VERY" likely to happen

he isnt bad but its time for a change. Longest tenured commish and it just seems like things are just getting worse. Seems like a lot of hostility -
NBA Lockout "VERY" likely to happen
DaFranchise03 replied to The Regime's topic in General NBA Discussion
I know it would suck but i wouldnt be pissed at the owners/Stern if a lockout happened. It would also be a perfect time to get a new commissioner. http://www.businessinsider.com/forbes-17-of-30-nba-teams-lost-money-last-year-2011-1 I we dont know all the numbers but if more than 10 teams lose money cause of the system and economic situation then there needs to be a change. The players have the right to try to get more money but why should any owner want a business that loses money. -
Playoffs: best matchup for the Rockets?
DaFranchise03 replied to Dash's topic in Houston Rockets Team Forum
i agree its not as important as maybe... developing the young players like i said. Why is Twill even on the team? They used this years pick on Patterson and his minutes vary every dam game. They need to let him learn from his mistakes and not just play him when he is playing good. If thabeet is really that raw than i can understand. Why didnt they play C-Bud more earlier. I admit i am a Battier fan but if they knew this would try to trade him why was he playing heavy minutes. -

If the Rockets dont have any chance of getting out of the first round why do you care so much that they get in. I rather see Thabeet, Patterson, and T-Will get minutes then for the team to try so hard just to get in. -
Playoffs: best matchup for the Rockets?
DaFranchise03 replied to Dash's topic in Houston Rockets Team Forum
They are the defending champs. It doesnt matter if the Rockets match up better with them. When you have an elite team, you find a way to win. I agree with the Mavs and Thunder not being great individual matchups but there are a million cases where the matchups doesnt matter. It takes experience and skills to win a playoffs series. Thunder is still a wildcard when it comes to succeeding in the playoffs. Put this where non-Rockets fans have a say and most if not all would say the have less chance of beating the Lakers than the Thunder. -

They are the defending champs. I honestly dont get why you two think the Lakers would be a good matchup. Who cares how they play in the regular season. They need to save their energy for the playoffs. -

Yea getting in would be a great accomplishment on its own but thats not what this thread is about. Its true that there chances would be low but Thunder is still a question mark. We did the same thing to the Lakers w/o Yao so I dont know if you can really base anything off that series. Perkins is a good low post defender but I dont think he would be a difference maker in a series against Houston. They got him to deal with players like Bynum, Howard, and Duncan. -

Spurs maybe but the Lakers? You crazy or just delusional? No matter how close the Rockets can keep it there size will win out 10 out of 10 times in a 7 game series. My vote is for the Thunder. They play the Thunder very well at home. They are a young team so who knows if they play to their full potential. -
Just gonna throw in Kevin Martin for the fun of it. My vote is for Ray Allen.

That was a great play by Amare. What impressed me more was Anthony's defense. He actually tried to play some.

its bad when so many players converge onto a select group of teams. It seems like its happening more than ever. It just means more teams like the Cavs and Timberwolves will be around.
