Heat sign Chalmers, Jones, and may keep Miller
SRV replied to Real Deal's topic in Miami Heat Team Forum
I don't mind Billups. He does similar things to Chalmers and I would rather have a more experienced guy starting at point. With that said though, Chalmers might not be the best PG, but he does his role perfectly. He plays defense and is probably the most dependable option for hitting open shots. Doesn't matter which one of them starts, they are only there for defense and shooting, and Billups does that and he brings veteran experience. The question still stands though, are we going to bring in a center? Right now we have Joel Anthony, Eddy Curry and Dexter Pittman. Curry and Pittman are question marks, and Joel Anthony is only good for defense. -
I am starting to believe Miami will not drop below 80 degrees this year or early next year. Gimme some damn cold weather!!!!

Magic contemplating filing tampering charges
SRV replied to Real Deal's topic in Orlando Magic Team Forum
Is everyone in the NBA stupid? It feels like the NBA is falling apart. If you are dumb enough to get caught tampering then you deserve the charges, I can guarantee there is so much tampering that goes unnoticed. We probably tampered to get Lebron and Bosh, in some way or another, just didn't get caught. -
Its safe to say Stern [expletive]ed things up more than he made them better. 1. Odom and Pau are way too sensitive for that news, so now the Lakers pretty much have two emo guys playing on their team. 2. CP3 will not be received well in New Orleans if he plays, and he is for sure going to leave in FA. So instead of the Hornets getting like 4 players and a pick, they get nothing. 3. Rockets obviously had something planned, but now they know Pau does not want to play for them 4. Dwight is going to NJ to form another super team of some kind if they sign another star player 5. Probably all the NBA players lost respect for Stern and the NBA and are probably ashamed to be part of a dysfunctional league. He really just made things worse.

I am not hating on the Lakers at all, in fact good for them. The thing I am pissed about is how dumb these trades are. This is like a video game trade. How can the Hornets be satisfied with Lamar Odom? I mean they get good guys like Scola and KMart, but this is Chris Paul. Then the Rockets give up their whole team and a pick and they get Gasol, who can't lead a team anywhere. Next is the Magic. They are going to give away the best defensive player in the league and probably the best center since Shaq for good old Andrew Bynum, who went out in grand fashion in the playoffs and who also can't lead a team anywhere. Lakers are just robbing everyone. I don't understand why other NBA teams jump in to get Dwight before the Lakers get a team that can destroy them.
-
Ok cool for the Lakers, but I seriously wonder what the other teams in this trade are gaining. Its like they are purposely giving the Lakers another super team to go along with the Heat. No offense but Odom and Gasol are not exactly the most valuable trade pieces, don't understand how the Hornets would want them in exchange for their star once in a lifetime player.
-
They are that stupid, cause thats the only thing the Lakers can offer and they are dumb enough to be interested apparently. Houston is also stupid. They are the main reason this CP3 deal is going down and they have to give up draft picks, Scola, and Martin in return for Gasol who all the Lakers fans despise.

275? All I heard was that they offered below 250. I am glad we didn't go to 275, we have overpaid everyone we wanted already.
-
I think the Angels were the only ones that hit the 250 million mark, the Cardinals gave the 4th best offer, and there was another team in there along with the Marlins but no one knows what team it was. We also refuse to give no-trade clauses to any player, so that is probably why he chose the Angels over us.
-
Yea but he doesn't actually get all that money, he would have made more with the Marlins because we have no state income tax.
-
Actually wait, he would have made more money if he played for us because he loses a shit load of money in taxes. Guess he just didn't want to wear our shitty uniform.
-
You should still be scared of the Marlins
-
No idea what to expect

Im glad we didn't give in to that deal. I wanted Pujols, but once I found out he wanted like 10 yrs 250 million I was hoping we wouldn't go for it. He is going to be dead weight in the last 5 years of his contract.

Nicccee. Still worried about the center position but it didn't destroy us too much last season.
