The first person to state Nash requested a trade was Howson at the deadline. It is great to let the fan base to know that he wanted out....if they had worked out a deal. Like you said about people showing up to watch games if they traded Nash away but how many people are going to show up knowing their captain doesn't even want to be playing in the game you just spent $100 on? Depends on which way you look at it. You either are stating that you are going ALL in now or have faith that your team will either win or grow into a better team with those players. If you feel you can lose one roster player and be that much better with Nash, then it is a no-brainer pulling the trigger on that deal.

They weren't really handcuffed though, that's the thing. Nash was keeping hush-hush about the whole thing then Howson openly states he wants out and the value drops instantly. Rangers final offer was Brandon Dubinsky, JT Miller, Tim Erixon, Christian Thomas and a first-round draft pick. You either take that and hope they go on a run or you just finish your job out like he is doing. Also could have been the owners calling the shots as well but who knows.

Key word is major. He could surprise and be a half-decent player for us but someone who was in the D-League is not going to instantly impact our team. There were rumors of Stephen Jackson and now Beasley and that is more of an upgrade than Green but you just never know what Green could bring this year.

Columbus played it so well with Nash not being a free agent and teased him to teams that only one is going to win the Stanley Cup so that at the draft the price goes up for him as teams see their holes come playoff time....then Howson opens his mouth and says Nash is the one who wants out. By far the dumbest move possible. Rick Nash would be a solid pickup for any team with talent. As ECN stated above, it takes good teammates to have a great team and if you are able to grab Nash without giving up core players, you will come out as a winner.

Martin Hanzal has a lot to do with Vrbata recent burst out. Great combination between the two. It's just a shame Phoenix does not have ownership.

Does Magic Johnson want blacks to be taught by blacks because a white teacher doesn't relate to black kids? I went to a catholic school that promoted religions of the world. Yes their main target was Catholics but they taught world religion and never failed me because I was religious and open to my beliefs. In my current program dealing with children, we are taught that everyone is open to their culture. People who don't celebrate Christmas bring in things that matter to them and celebrate and learn their culture. The real world shouldn't be targeting race and it is seen everyday. Housewives of Beverly Hills has an all white cast and then of course Atlanta has mostly all blacks and they are married to football and basketball players so it is already happening. Is anyone forced to watch Magic's show? No and that is why we all have freedom but I think the point being missed is the comments about hiring African Americans to hire on the show. I've brought up the point of if someone else in the community openly said they'd hire only white kids from the suburbs to create a show because Magic Johnson show about overcoming poverty and creating dreams doesn't relate to them, they'd be called stupid. Again it's everyone's opinion which makes our world so great is that we get to share thoughts together. Unfortunately efforts like this miss the main point entirely that color should have no effect in anyone's decision because in the end, we all live and die the same.

Neither does Tim Cook but all he does is hire 99.9% white, Clearly you don't mind being called white or black. We are humans and I just wish morons like Magic Johnson would use words like underprivileged or phrase it better. Racism is never going to go away unless people realize what they are doing on this planet.

If there was a link with correct grammar I'd be more sure of what he said but if it's true I really got to disagree. If Larry Bird was to openly say he'd hire an all white to produce a television show, there would be an uproar. Generalizing races as individuals rather than just human beings does absolutely no justice to ending racism. Shouldn't matter if your name is Paul or Jerome when it comes to employment or pretty much anything in life because nobody is the same and color should have no factor in any daily activities.

Without any major upgrade at the small forward position, I don't see us having a playoff record. Could have a nice run (which will be stupid) since Lopez will be back and somewhat healthy roster.

Yeah Kane could fetch a lot more than what this offer has. They'd have better luck trading him for a young goalie prospect and get some additional talent as well. Just always neat seeing big trades.

Jonas Enroth I believe is ready. With Keith and Seabrook will be great for Miller too. I really hope this trade goes through.
