I said this where? You're the one who resorts to this tactic in every single debate you have. Instead of finding actual data to back up your claims, you just go to this [expletive] tactic. Believe it or not, Philly, Boston, and NY are big hockey markets. We get plenty of exposure. We read plenty on the internet. I am a diehard hockey fan and consider myself fairly knowledgeable and I do not need some French cunt from Montreal on the internet telling me otherwise. Now go ahead and tattle to the mods.
-
And go re-read some of your comments about the Pacioretty/Chara incident before calling anybody else on here a homer, please.
-
I am just saying. You do this in EVERY argument and it is incredibly lame and untrue.
-
Oh, rofl. The legendary Universe "oh, well....I know more hockey than you so STFU!" tactic. Love it!! (And FYI you don't). Hey ECN and Kyle, this guy is too good for us, he gets TSN on basic cable. We clearly can't compete so lets take our ball and go somewhere else.

You can't call somebody out for being stupid, or being an "idiot", while making an incredibly dumb grammar/spelling error in the same post. That's basically what it comes down to.

I will be there tonight. Most excited I have been for a Sixers game ever, maybe. Should be a great crowd, I believe it is sold out already. Hopefully not many Boston assholes.

Observations through first few weeks of ST... Ben Francisco is having a fantastic spring, which is nice since he is basically the starting RFer by default now. John Mayberry Jr. is also proving that he can be an adequate 4th/5th OFer, which is nice. Still can't hit a breaking ball for the life of him, so I'd say it's officially time to give up hope of him ever being an impact player. Also, Mike Stutes and Matt Anderson have been my favorite stories on the pitching side of it. Stutes is probably either the closer or setup man in 2012 and beyond, and he is making a legit case to break camp with the team this year. And obviously Anderson is a neat comeback story, but probably still a super longshot to make the team out of ST.

Well, that's basically his job description (pissing off the other team). Honestly I'd rather have Zherdev or Nodl in the lineup, but whatever. Carbomb is fulfilling his long purpose tonight.

Well, you can thank that cheap POS Mike Komisarek for getting him pissed off. Carcillo has at least 3 Maple Leafs with their panties in a bunch so he is doing his job well.

Zdeno Chara Hits Max Pacioretty (March 8 2011)
Phightins replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in Hockey Forum
FYI, I hate Boston 1000x more than I hate Montreal. I am just calling it as I see it. Also, you need to stop jumping to conclusions just because Pacioretty was "under Chara's skin". Chara has been in the NHL for almost 15 seasons and has had more altercations than the human brain can process, yet he has always maintained a rep as a clean player. I would say that fact counts for way more than your blind assumptions. This is not Dan Carcillo, Sean Avery, Trevor Gillies, or Chris Pronger etc here. -

This is in the realm of sport. Vicious hits and fights happen all the time. Discipline is the league's discretion. We criticize the NHL all the time, but they are far more qualified to determine clean from dirty on a hockey rink than the police. Government needs to stay out of it. There are so many problems with the world right now, go tackle one of them, stop trying to appease bitter Canadiens fans. -

Really can't believe the police is "investigating". Give me a break, find something productive to do. -
I think she knows her stuff.

Oklahoma City at Philadelphia

Probably not well, considering who the potential opponents are. Fine with me though, this season is a rousing success either way. -

Also, can't have a shot clock violation when you are trying to put the game away. Can't happen. -

This should have been over in regulation. Durant should not have gotten a chance to tie it. So many phantom fouls going OKC's way at the end. Sixers should have gotten to get to the line and put it away. Once this went to OT I knew there was no chance. Huge [expletive]ing let down. -

Total [expletive]ing disaster. Oh my god. -

Can't we just all agree that this would be a hell of a first round matchup? -

Probably around 2. That's what I expected, anyway. Believe it or not, stuff like this happens all the time (well, people don't break their necks all the time, but there are scary hits all the time). It's the unfortunate part of hockey, but the game is so fast and so physical. Believe it or not, the Chara hit was not even the dirtiest play of last night: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOTRbzo2qTk <_< Because of the Chara hit, nobody is talking about this, but Smid is probably facing a suspension for that. When you can see a guy in a vulnerable position facing the boards like that and you still drive him in head first, that's about as dirty as it gets. -

Also, somebody made a good point just now on Twitter. David Steckel's interference of Sidney Crosby probably ended Crosby's season, but there was no suspension there. Hockey play gone wrong, basically. They called the interference penalty on the ice, as they should have, but I am happy Chara wasn't punished just because of the severity of the injury. -

Also I was just looking into it. While each arena seems to have that little area ("stanchion" or w/e) between the benches (most have some form of plexiglass enclosure), it looks like Bell Centre's is by far the most dangerous. In most buildings, there is a bit of space between the playing surface and where the glass is. At Bell Centre, the glass is literally right on top of the playing surface. Also there is another piece of glass running parallel to the benches at Bell Centre because there is a tunnel behind it, so it's basically a full glass box. Because of that, I am guessing the area Pacioretty hit had way less "give" than it would have had in another arena. But that's just a guess, I really have no idea about the physics of it.
