It is just hitting me now about how underwhelming the Penguins are without Sidney Crosby.

I know. I just have a feeling that Vick will be looking for something unprecedented. And chances are, somebody will be dumb enough to give it to him. That's why I hope the Eagles show a bit of caution. But of course, this is irrelevant until there is a CBA.

People need to remember, the question isn't "who is the better QB right now". Or even "who is the best QB for the next couple seasons". That is the easiest question in the history of questions. Anybody who thinks it's a lock that the Eagles will give Vick a blank check is not familiar with how the Eagles do business.

Very nervous about giving Vick a mega-deal. Not saying Kolb is the answer (before I get crucified for that again). But giving a big contract to an old-ish guy who takes tons of big hits, doesn't know how to slide, and has existing injury issues is super risky and borderline irresponsible (depending on the terms of the deal). It's easy to say "give Vick a blank check" now, since chances are he will be dominant for another 2, maybe 3 seasons. But beyond that? Huge risk, and totally against the Eagles MO (see: Dawkins, Brian). I don't even care about the money, but the years is a huge issue.

I am laughing at the people writing Kolb off already. If that's just Flash, then yes, he is who that was directed to. But I seem to remember several other members doing the same thing in the past. I am just arguing that the guy needs a fair chance, which he hasn't gotten yet. Also FYI I did not say once that he is necessarily worth a 1st. Not once.

Also, keep in mind, Jordan Raanan wrote that article. He might be the biggest tool bag in Philadelphia sports media. Obviously if Schefter said it, it is probably legitimate, but do not believe a word Raanan says.

This makes me laugh so hard. Really. He has been NFC Offensive Player of the Week in 1/3 of his career starts. But he looked bad in one half when the Eagles played Flash's team earlier this season, so obviously there is no hope. Oh, he also looked bad in his most recent start against the Cowboys with the worst starting offensive line in NFL history and 2nd/3rd string playmakers. Total garbage. Not saying he will necessarily pan out, but to totally write him off is stupid, especially since he has shown flashes in the tiny tiny sample size of starts he's made. Also, from what I am hearing, the Eagles have no plans to trade him this offseason, regardless of if Vick signs long term. So saying they want two first round picks is basically them saying "we don't want to trade the guy, but if somebody wants to give us something ridiculous, obviously we will listen". Not too hard to comprehend. And Schaub is a great comparison, now that I think of it.

That was a heartbreaking end, but at the end of the day these guys made it a hell of a lot farther than I anticipated. So whatever. When I unwind a bit I'll make a longer post.

As horrendous as the Eagles were in every aspect of this game, the sad part is the Eagles win without some of the bonehead mistakes/decisions. Never change, Eagles.
