Lots of mental mistakes for Jrue. If the Sixers cannot win this game....just wow.
-
I hope Wally Backman gets the job too because I see that turning into an epic failure.

The award needs to be renamed "Manager of the Surprise Team of the Year".

Can't wait for next Monday's rematch. Got my tickets. Should be fun. Almost everybody on the Flyers seems pissed off at PK Subban, so I am anxious to see how that plays itself out. The guy is really good but he seems like a huge [expletive], or he was last night at least. Running his mouth, mugging guys behind the play/after the whistle. Next Monday should be fun.

Signed Dan Meyer to a minor league deal. Fully expect him to get a shot at the MLB roster. With as screwed up as the RP market is, the whole "build bullpen from within"/pick guys up off the scrap heap idea doesn't sound so bad.

3 years/$16.5 million for Joaquin Benoit from the Tigers. Wow. The middle relief market is totally out of whack. Makes the Jose Contreras deal look an awful lot better.
-
Damn, I miss that guy..... But not really.
-
If you cant beat 'em, beat 'em up! Those are my boys!! (Although Subban was asking for it).

Yeah, when it is a Canadian vs. American team, they tend to be pro-American team, just because that's who the majority of their audience is pulling for. And yes, they are VERY uneducated. And yeah, we have a local sports network for the Flyers, Sixers, and Phillies. They probably have 65-70 Flyers games every year, with the other 15-17 either being on VS or NBC (NBC has the Sunday afternoon game of the week later on in the season). The worst part is that when a game is selected to be on VS or NBC, there is no local broadcast since the national network has exclusive rights. As for the Eagles, every game is national TV.
-
Versus is the "national" network. These games were on ESPN pre-lockout. Now Versus gets the national telecasts on Monday and Tuesday. The play by play guy (Joe Beninati) is normally the Washington Capitals play by play guy, but he does the national games for VS as well.
-
Also, you Canadian guys are so lucky that you don't need to watch games on Versus. Darren Eliot is absolutely horrible.
-
And a power play goal off a terrible call to make it 3-0. Should just about do it. Whatever, get them on Thursday.

Loved seeing Powe kick Lapierre's [expletive]. Nothing like overreacting to big, clean hits. As for the game, I guess a clunker like this was bound to happen, especially on the road in the second half of a back to back.. No shame in getting shut down by Carey Price with as well as he has played tonight. Still some time, but with as well as Price has played I am not particularly optimistic.
-
Carey Price is very good....

Flyers/Canadiens tonight. Not sure what to expect. Tough back to back for Bob. We'll see. Also, Dan Carcillo out 3 weeks with a knee issue. No big thing.
-
Only positive I take out of this is that Matt Diaz probably gets non-tendered now, assuming Martin Prado moves to LF when Chipper comes back. I'd love for the Phillies to grab Diaz.

And this trade just happened. Unreal. So, who was the one saying the Marlins are a world class organization?
-
AND the Marlins are supposedly going to give John Buck a 3 year, $15 million contract. What the hell is going on?
-
Ken Rosenthal is reporting that the Braves and Marlins are discussing a Dan Uggla for Omar Infante and Mike Dunn trade. Interesting, and very surprising. Career utility infielder and a fringe left handed specialist for an elite offensive player at a premium position. And within the division no less. Hope this isn't true. This isn't how the Marlins usually do business.
-
I am not optimistic at all. Just stating that something like that is probably the only way JWerth winds up back here. And yeah, I will be surprised too considering their asking price. Somebody in their front office was supposedly asked what it would take to get Upton and he replied "everything".
-
I am already stoked for next Sunday night. Good luck to you guys (but not too much!).
-
So, there are a whole bunch of Justin Upton related trade rumors flying around today. The D-Backs are looking for a ton in return, as they should. JP Morosi suggested that the Red Sox may get heavily involved in this. If this somehow happens, perhaps Jayson Werth falls back to the Phillies. This may get interesting.

Hey, Roy Halladay wins the NL Cy Young! Pretty nice consolation prize for a disappointing finish to the season.
-
Nobody deserves that. Payback is a [expletive], eh LaRon?

They kept it around for 15 years after the Flyers and Sixers moved out for that purpose. They had a minor league hockey team play there, indoor soccer, concerts, family events, and occasionally college basketball. Supposedly, the cost of maintaining the building just isn't worth it anymore. Plus, they are planning on developing the area, so the land the Spectrum is on will be pretty valuable. South Philly is basically just the stadium complex, and other than that there isn't anything to do. Ed Snider is planning on putting in a shopping mall type thing, restaurants, perhaps a hotel, etc. I am pretty excited for it TBH.
