For better or worse, he was a key player here for almost a decade, and the "face of the franchise" ever since Iverson left. They absolutely should honor him. Makes the team look way worse if they don't do anything for him at all. Not like this is Kevin Ollie or Calvin Booth making their return or something.

Given the location of Yankee Stadium, as well as the lack of parking anywhere near it, I doubt there are any MLB stadiums in the country that are harder to get to. Throw in rush hour traffic and I'd guess it's a nightmare.

It sucks because of how awfully he gets treated by Phillies fans now. He was so awesome for us for 4 years and made almost no money, but people blame him for taking $126 million from WSH when the Phillies did not offer anything close to that. I am just happy that we have another game 5!

Time for a new thread, I'd say! First preseason game tonight, in Orlando. Not on TV unfortunately. Not basketball related, but Matt Cord will be back as the PA announcer at WFC next year. This means nothing to 99% of you, but for those in the Philly area who attend games, this is GREAT news. The guy they had last year was awful.

The A's won their division and had a better record than the Tigers, but because of our wonderful commissioner (seriously, be thankful for Stern), the higher seeded teams got to start this round of the playoffs on the road (5 game series, lower seed hosted games 1 and 2, higher seed gets games 3-5). So Oakland had to play games 1 and 2 in Detroit despite having the better regular season record (and in one of those games they had to face Justin Verlander, arguably the best pitcher in the game), and they lost both. So they got royally screwed. If they can come back from down 0-2 to win the series, it would be awesome.

Unreal.

Edwin got lit up early today. If the Nationals don't come back to win this, the Strasburg second-guessing is going to get very loud. But it's pretty legit. I don't see any way the Nationals lose a 5 game series to the Cardinals with 3 Stras/Gio starts. Sucks for Nats fans.

Well, they only had 3 hits last night, and Zito is still pitching today, so I am not sure how "woken up" they are. But at least the series is semi-interesting now. Could get more interesting if they tee off on Leake today, as I suspect they will.
