  1. You are right, I didn't realize it was this bad though. Supposedly 20,000 total tickets still available for games 6 and 7. Good lord.
  2. That was just the 32nd homerun to right field hit by a right handed batter ever at AT&T Park. Kind of remarkable. So sad watching this guy kick [expletive] and take names only to know there's a 0.5% chance he is back next year .
  3. That contract does not kick in for 2 years. But yes. Speaking of Ryan Howard. So ironic that his 2 best swings this series have come against Jonathan Sanchez and Javier Lopez, lol. Of every pitcher on the Giants staff, those are the last two you'd expect it against.
  4. Also, I think everybody has their answer about why Doc did not pitch last night. Dude is worn down.
  5. I was actually surprised to find the Giants have a slightly lower hitter BABIP (as of 2 innings ago...with such a small sample size it is changing rather drastically with literally every batter). If you want the up to date BABIP, here is the formula... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BABIP Anyway, I will eat my crow about the BABIP line, but I stand by everything else I said about the Giants being a bit luckier.
  6. You are a troll. Have you read any of my commentary throughout this series? I have given plenty of reasons for why they are down 3-1. Luck is a big one, but certainly not the only one. They have brought much of this on themselves. Cannot deny the Giants luck this series though (up until this inning anyway).
  7. But anyway...up until this point in the series, the Phillies and Giants have virtually identical offensive numbers across the board. Yet the Giants lead the series 3-1. Why, you ask? Learn the meaning of "BABIP" and get back at me. Of course, Charlie's gaffes last night played a big part in that.
  8. OK, I take back that [expletive] about the Phillies not getting breaks. The tides may be turning (fingers crossed). Triple post FTW
  9. Hey, a runner on 2nd with nobody out. I have seen this script play out before....ugh.
  10. Sometimes you can just tell when it is not your night (or series). And, well.....yeah.
  11. They rarely hit and run, the one time they do it works perfectly, and Doc induced a tailor made double play that Utley botched. Again, breaks all going to Giants. As for Halladay...I guarantee you he was staring at Jeff Nelson. Pat is just an oversensitive prick, and always has been. (Loved him for that when he was here, BTW).
  12. That's exactly what I mean. Doc gets his ground ball but to the wrong spot, and the Giants score. The Giants couldn't be luckier and the Phillies couldn't be unluckier. I swear the Giants have a 1.000 BABIP this series. Oh, and Chase Utley's postseason defense is dreadful.
  13. The Giants are getting very lucky in this series. That isn't sour grapes, it's the truth. They are not making solid contact, and the only times they do the ball seems to find a hole or gap, or it happens on the one pitch they decide to send a runner. And to help their case, the Phillies luck has been basically the exact opposite.
  14. My earliest Phillies game memory is walking around the basement of the Vet, and having some douche put out his cig on my arm. No idea what happened on the field that night!
  15. Polly back to 2 and Utley back to 3. AKA they better have the lead by the 7th inning or Lopez/Affeldt is going to tear up the middle of the lineup. Also, Torres, Sandoval, and Uribe in Giants lineup. Anyway, 1 game at a time. Start by getting the series back here. I will take my chances with Oswalt/Hamels pitching at home any day of the week. Odds not in our favor, but I have seen crazier things.
  16. Haha I think all the baseball posts are awesome, it would just be cool if it was this way all season. Also, speaking of the '90's Mariners....how the hell did that team never win anything? Talk about stacked.
  17. It is super rare for the Phillies to have a "total team loss". That is what tonight is. Everybody [expletive]ed up. Top to bottom. Joe Blanton and Ryan Madson get props. That's it.
  18. It can still be done. [expletive]ed by bad decisions and bad umpires tonight. Halladay, Oswalt, Hamels. If anybody can make it happen, it is those 3.
