  1. It is literally 2 different strike zones, when Cain is on the mound as opposed to Hamels. Unreal.
  2. He sent LeBron at least 25 additional hateful messages also. People need to get lives.
  3. If the Giants win today, expect to see Roy Halladay on short rest in game 4, followed by Roy Oswalt and Cole Hamels, also on short rest, then Doc again for a potential game 7.
  4. Surgery for Matt Walker, out 10-12 weeks. This clears up some cap space. With Dan Carcillo struggling on the top line, perhaps they bring in Bill Guerin after all?
  5. Victorino CF Utley 2B Polanco 3B Howard 1B Werth RF Rollins SS Ibanez LF Ruiz C Hamels P Renteria SS Sanchez 2B Posey C Burrell LF Ross RF Huff 1B Uribe 3B Rowand CF Cain P Lets go
  6. No surprise with the ratings drop. FlashForward had a similar weird premise, which definitely turned some viewers off. The ratings got so bad there that the show was cancelled. With the exception of Lost, these types of shows generally don't last long. Hoping this is different, I am a big fan so far.
  7. Although I must say....it would be sooooo so typical of the Sixers to finally get a top pick and have him wind up being a total bust. My fingers are certainly crossed that this doesn't happen, but it would be very Sixers-y.
  8. I have come to realize that offensive numbers in the postseason don't really indicate anything. All that matters are the W's and L's. More times than not, you are facing elite pitching in October. Good pitching will always shut down good hitting.
  9. Well, that would be very typical of Simmons to make such a harsh judgement based on one game! Anyway, I see where you all are coming from. I am basically with Real Deal. The signs may not be great right now, but it is way too early to judge either way.
  10. +1 Unfortunately, playoff crowds are typically "corporate" crowds. It is the same [expletive] here in Philadelphia. To me, leaving a sporting event early is the eighth deadly sin.
  11. Well, the stats are from summer league and preseason. Since when are they a decent indicator of anything? I mean, Evan may be a bust, who knows. I just think it is wayyyyyy way way too soon to break out the Adam Morrison comparisons.
  12. Why would anybody take anything Bill Simmons says seriously? Before passing judgement, maybe we should wait until Turner, you know, plays a regular season NBA game.
  13. Damn, Shane Doan with a 3 game suspension. A bit harsh if you ask me.
  14. Eric Wedge to Seattle (as expected), and Tony LaRussa back to the Cardinals.
  15. The bottom line is that Michael Vick is not the future of this team. He may be decent now, although even that is kind of hard to tell. He played well in two full games against terrible defenses, and in one half against a defense that had no time to prepare for him. That is all well and good. He exceeded my expectations, and for that I ate my crow. However, I stand by what I have been saying all along, that the Eagles brutally mismanaged this situation. Kevin Kolb needs to get a chance to prove himself. When the Eagles traded Donovan McNabb, it was not so that they could hand the controls over to Michael Vick. It was so that they could hand the controls over to the guy they spent a 2nd round pick on and 3 years grooming for the job. And no, despite what Flash and some other Vick supporters may be saying, 2 quarters against the Packers is nowhere close to a fair amount of time for Kolb to prove himself. I can understand that people who are not fans of this team/are not around coverage of this team every day will be narrow minded. To those people, everything is about the results in the here and now, and they don't really have any interest/concern in the future of the team. Michael Vick is a 30 year old who has always been overrated as a passer, relies mostly on his legs, and takes many big hits. That is not a recipe for a very long NFL career. Andy saw him have success after Kolb got hurt, and he also saw the rest of the division sucking, so he went against everything he had worked towards over the last 3 years and let Vick play. He decided to ditch the idea of a "transition season", which may or may not result in a win or two more this season, but in the long run may be disastrous. Kolb needs to play, period.
  16. I see where they are coming from. It's always annoying when the Canadiens play here (no offense). Not sure where they all come from!!
  17. If he gives the high strike consistently and not the inside strike, then I am fine with it. As long as he stays consistent.
  18. Edgar Renteria a late addition to Giants lineup. Playing instead of Uribe. Interesting.
  19. I think it's just me now. I know Smitty is a Phillies fan but I don't think he is really into baseball. Fly3rs, N4S, and Diesel are all gone.
  20. Torres Sanchez Huff Posey Burrell Uribe Fontenot Ross Sanchez Victorino Utley Polanco Howard Werth Rollins Ibanez Ruiz Oswalt Smart move switching Utley and Polly. Polly, along with Ruiz, are the only 2 guys in this lineup with the patience and eye to potentially give Sanchez issues, so he definitely needs to be hitting between Utley and Howard.
  21. Yeah. My word of advice is to not listen to Andy Reid in the time leading up to it. Can't take that man for his word.
