I just don't get how when Kolb plays well, it is "he is beating a [expletive]ty defense", but when Vick plays well against [expletive]ty defense, there isn't a word about it. It is a two way street.

So were both of the defenses Mike Vick took apart.

Andrus with (I will give him 2.5) stolen bases in one inning. Damn. -
Forgot to post this yesterday. Kyle Kendrick added to NLCS roster, Greg Dobbs dropped. It's obvious why Kendrick is needed (they only needed 3 SPs in the NLDS, so they only kept 10 pitchers and used Joe Blanton was used as the long man, and now that Blanton is in the rotation, they need an 11th pitcher). So, it was between Dobbs and Dom Brown for that final bench spot. I obviously think Dom Brown is a much better baseball player than Greg Dobbs, but the fact is, Dobbs is an infielder, so leaving him off the roster leaves them with just one reserve infielder, and two starting infielders fighting injury. So it's a huge risk. Personally, I'd have kept Dobbs and excluded Brown. Brown probably gets 2 plate appearances this entire series tops and is not a very good outfielder/instinctual baserunner, so it's not like they can use him as a defensive replacement/pinch runner with much confidence. He is not even the top lefty on the bench. His purpose will be to bat if the Phillies are down in the 5th or 6th inning and in a "home run" situation. If it ever gets to that point, where we need to get a starting pitcher out that early, we are probably [expletive]ed anyway. Whatever, hopefully none of this presents itself as an issue!

ALCS Discussion: New York Yankees vs. Texas Rangers

Even though I get Kingfish/Yugo's point, saying somebody isn't a "real fan" because they aren't at a playoff game is kind of silly. I went to 25ish Phillies games this past regular season, but did not purchase postseason tickets because of how expensive they are. And many of the "fans" at the playoff games are not real fans at all. They are just people with money who go because they can. -
The Kitchener Rangers lost tonight too. What a bad day for Rangers!

So I leave with the Rangers up 3-0 and CC looking like *insert well known POS left handed pitcher*. And then I come home to....this? Jesus. Also, I did see the replay of the ball A-Rod hit to 3rd. There was nothing routine about that at all. That ball was smashed, Young would have been incredibly lucky just to knock that down, much less make an out. -

OK, nevermind. Fooled everyone. Also, why the hell is Jeff Francoeur in this lineup? He has been OK as a Ranger I guess, but he seems so easy to pitch to. Had to be exactly the guy CC wanted at the plate when he was struggling. Nobody gives at-bats away ulike Frenchy. -

That was an awful call. Becoming a theme... -
I wish my father would have taken note of the first game he took me to. It was some time in the early '90's at Veterans Stadium. I'd LOVE to know when it was.
