I dunno. Again, I can't blame him for today when the rest of the team is beyond pitiful. Kolb has gotten next to no chance to prove himself, so I don't think it's particularly fair to rush to judgement. Will he wind up being good? Who knows, I just don't see enough of a sample size to decide yet. He looks pretty overmatched right now, but I'd like him to get a significant amount of time to prove himself. Also, the officials suck even worse than the Eagles today. Wow.
-
Not getting started with this again. Whatever. This team is pretty bad as a whole, though.
-
I am not sure how he could possibly be blamed for this game. The defense can't tackle, the o-line is horrendous, his receivers are dropping passes thrown right at their chests, the kickoff/punt return coverage is horrible, and there are dumb penalties on both sides of the ball. And the sample size with Kolb is way too small to make any kind of judgement.

[expletive] this team. Thank god the MLB playoffs are starting, and NHL/NBA seasons are right around the corner.
-
This team is bad enough as it is. Last thing we need is for the zebras to [expletive] us in the [expletive] too.

And Shady goes down. Well, that's nice. Also, so sick of [expletive]ing injury commercial breaks. $$$ is ruining sports.

Is there a more overrated player in the league than Jason Peters? Good lord.

Already a blown call in the SDG/SFG game. Jeez -
Standing O for Donovan. A nice middle finger in the direction of the national media. Now, onto the real matter at hand...the game.
-
This makes me laugh. FOX cameras showed McNabb coming out to the field to warmups and even picked up someone screaming "WE LOVE YOU DONOVAN!!!!", yet they start talking about boos right away. Just goes to show that the national media wants the rest of the country to believe he is hated here. They need a BS story to talk about.

Gameday Discussion for 10/3/10
Phightins replied to Phightins's topic in Baseball Gameday Discussion
If the Phillies win (looking unlikely now) and Padres win, then the Braves are eliminated, and the Giants and Padres would be tied for the NL West. There would be no tie-breaker game since the Giants and Padres would both be in the postseason anyway, so due to head-to-head record, the Padres would win the division and the Giants would get the wild card. If the Phillies win and Giants win, the Giants get the NL West, and the Padres and Braves would play a one game playoff tomorrow in Atlanta for the Wild Card. If the Braves and Giants win, the Giants win the NL West and the Braves win the wild card, and the Padres are eliminated. If the Braves and Padres win, then we have by far the coolest scenario. There would be a 3-way tie between the Giants, Padres and Braves. The Giants and Padres would play a one-game playoff tomorrow in San Diego, winner takes NL West and loser flies to Atlanta to play the Braves in a one-game playoff for the wild card on Tuesday. I think that covers basically everything. -

Holy [expletive], the Tomahawk Chop is super annoying. It was nice not having to hear it much until today. -
Yeah, they typically introduce the offense or defense individually. Today, the Redskins offense will be introduced individually.
-
Also, for those who care about this sort of thing, McNabb got a nice round of applause when he took the field for warmups. Granted, only a few thousand in the stadium at this point, but yes. Those who will boo are still out in the parking lot getting [expletive] faced.

Helping out our good friend Cobb. Anyway, only 2 games that really mean much of anything on the schedule today (obviously the Yankees and Rays still need to figure out who wins that division). Anyway, this is the rare time where I actually wouldn't mind if the Phillies lose. I'd love to see a 3-way tie unfold. And Charlie Manuel did his best to make sure this happens by allowing Danys Baez to pitch! Giants-Padres on tap for 4:00 EST this afternoon. I am probably part of the .000000000001% of people in this region that cares more about that than McNabb-gate. Lets go!!

This!!

Charlie Manuel with a nice going-away present for Bobby Cox by letting Danyz Baez pitch.
-
The Phillies will finish with the best record in baseball for the first time ever. Sweet.

Did you deliver my message to Lou? -
If the Phillies hold on today, they will be in a super weird situation tomorrow. If they win (and Padres win, of course), there's a decent chance the Giants will be matched up with them in the NLDS, which is definitely not wanted. If the Phillies lose tomorrow (and Padres win), all hell will break loose. But that "hell" will be super entertaining to watch as an outsider.
-
Yessss please do. It's looking like tomorrow will be an awesome day.
-
I don't know if there is any manager who can turn that team into a winner right away. From my understanding, they will not be pursuing any big name FA's (not that there are a whole lot out there anyway), so the Mets may be in for another long season regardless of who is managing.

I miss Cobb's gameday threads .
