I am still here and I still hate the Cowboys.
-
If I wind up going, I know I will be giving him a standing O. It seemed like a 50-50 mix in the time he was here, of fans supporting him and against him, so I suspect it might be a similar crowd reaction.
-
Haha, that would be nice. I am sure Big Andy is hoping for that, since that's what it will probably take to save his job.
-
You are probably right, but chances are Kolb tears up Detroit also. Andy [expletive]ed up, and he did it with supreme arrogance (telling the media one day that Kolb is 100% his QB, criticizing any writers who questioned that, and then switching to Vick less than 24 hours later, and treating the media with the same disrespect when he is questioned). 10 years of his bull[expletive], taking the media/fans for suckers, is enough (I wouldn't expect anybody who isn't around this team/coverage of this team every day to understand that though). Vick is probably better right now, but Kolb has to get the chance to play. This isn't about winning a Super Bowl this year. I'd rather go 7-9 and see what Kolb can do than 9-7 with Vick and getting knocked out in the first round of the playoffs.

Mark Streit out for 6 months. Tough luck for Islanders.

Carmelo still wants out Page 4 in this thread

Just posted this in the Sixers thread, but.... http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/sixerville/Sixers_in_talks_for_Carmelo_Anthony_Western_exec_says.html Still probably a pipe dream for the Sixers, but interesting nonetheless. -
Sixers Emerge as Anthony's landing spot

It actually works out somewhat well. I am kind of hoping the Phillies get to clinch on the road so all the frontrunners who paid top dollar on StubHub to see a potential clinch this weekend (and for most of them, probably their first live game of the season) get screwed. But I'd take a win tomorrow just as well!

Holy [expletive], are the Mets serious? When will they let this Utley thing go? If they had that much of a problem they'd grow a set of balls and throw at him or have a base runner take him out hard. But instead, they whine about him through the media 2 full games later (I am looking at you in particular, Mr. Beltran). Unreal. What a bunch of pussies. I guess this is mostly sour grapes for a [expletive]ty year. Also, ironic that the only two people who don't seem to have an issue with the slide are Ruben Tejada (the guy Utley took out) and Jerry Manuel. Well, Jerry probably realizes that if half of his players played as hard as Utley, he wouldn't be losing his job in 2 weeks. Sorry Fish

This will be fun....mixture of OTR and Mogul people.

Ahhhh peer pressure. Fine I am in.

I do not know enough football to join this, but for those concerned about activity, I can vouch for the other dudes CLHN found. They will be active.

Related to that video... Apparently the Giants filed a complaint with Major League Baseball following the game, and as a result, an MLB official will now oversee the humidor at Coors Field. Previously, a Rockies employee was in charge of it. This is potentially big..

Sergei Bobrovsky's path to the NHL roster may have gotten a bit easier. Michael Leighton re-aggravated his back injury, and some are saying it might be serious. Absolutely don't need a goalie injury problem, but for the first time in years it looks like the Flyers might actually have depth at the position.

Tim Lincecum thinks the balls in Colorado are f'd up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4iVpgf6Lg0

I will be kind of surprised if the Braves are not in the playoffs. The teams in the west will be beating each other up and the Braves have a very easy schedule.
-
Can't wait for tomorrow, BTW. Mets pissed at the Phillies for the Utley slide, Phillies pissed at the Mets for the "icing" of Lidge with that pinch runner, and oh yeah, the division title may be there for the taking.
-
Fish, I'm just wondering... Is there a reason Jerry Manuel had Lucas Duda batting 2nd with Angel Pagan and Josh Thole near the bottom of the order? Is this just a one game thing? Didn't make a whole lot of sense to me.
-
Best record in baseball if the Yankees and Twins scores hold up. Also, the Mets are pussies. They have a lot more to "reevaluate" than slides into 2nd base, and I dare them to throw at Utley tomorrow.

I agree that OBP is more important than AVG, but he is the rare case when an exception can be made. And it's not like he has a horrible career OBP anyway. Better than most active MLB leadoff men (all but 2 or 3). 200 hits every season and 1.41 hits per game over a 10 year span is ridiculous, bottom line.
-
Saying he is overrated is pure insanity, sorry Fish. In the Major Leagues he is averaging 1.41 hits per game. If that is averaged out over the amount of games that Pete Rose played, Ichiro would have 5,129 hits. Of course, Ichiro will never play that many games, since he came to the Majors at age 28, and Pete Rose made his debut at age 22. I see where you are coming from though, and I too am more of an OPS guy, but you just can't ignore an insane hit total like this. He has more hits per game than Rose and Cobb (Ty Cobb, not Braves Fan Cobb).

Ooooo man. Dan Carcillo, Jody Shelley, and Zac Rinaldo all in the lineup tonight. This could be good!
-
He was on the worst team in the league. Most people think his season in the KHL was pretty impressive because he had absolutely no help. He is headed to the Phantoms, which will be good for him. I'm pretty sure the first time he ever played on a North American sized rink was a few weeks ago, so playing a season in the AHL should be good for him. I've heard some people say he is going to push Boucher for the backup job, but that doesn't make sense to me. He'd be better off in the AHL playing the majority of the games and getting adjusted to the North American game.
-
Bobrobsky playing again tonight. Also, Marc-Andre Bourdon is apparently going to receive serious consideration for a spot on the final roster. Doubt he makes it because of how much depth we have on D, but I'd be shocked if he is not on the team at some point this year.

What do the Canadiens and Bruins have in common?
