  1. At least Braves tickets are usually available, even this late into the season. I'm lucky to be a season ticket holder...if I didn't have them, I'd be [expletive] out of luck. The Phillies bandwagon has exploded in the last 4 or 5 years. They have sold out 105 straight games, it's so tough to just get a ticket to an individual game.
  2. Yeah, the schedule makers could not have made it any better this year. Six Phillies-Braves games in the final 12 of the season, including the final weekend. I already have my tickets for one of them!
  3. http://www.tindeck.com/listen/pigi Larry Andersen, you are the greatest. Thanks for making me feel a little better tonight.
  4. Absolutely unbelievable. I am more pissed off right now than I was after game 6 of the World Series last year. Congrats Scott Barry and Greg Gibson, way to steal the spotlight. Joe West is really [expletive]ing proud of you. Arrogant umpiring has played a role in deciding each of the first two games of this series. Scott Barry should be fired (or sent back to the Minor Leagues where he belongs). I am obviously pissed off about the game, but for Barry to mock Ryan Howard, and then have the balls to kick Ryan out of the game for getting pissed off about a terrible call was disgraceful. [expletive].
  5. Cole Hamels trails in a game in which he is pitching very well. What else is new?
  6. Just the 8th time this year that the "regular lineup" is together. Record in those first 7 games was 6-1.
  7. There is no way he makes it to the Braves. They are near the bottom of the waiver order, anybody half-decent will be blocked before they get to the Braves.
  8. People who don't watch baseball assume that pitchers are "pussies" (see: Diesel). It is quite annoying to explain the game to them. And NO I am not attempting to compare your girlfriend to Diesel!
  9. Also, Jayson Werth needs to be benched tomorrow. Getting picked off 2nd base on an INTENTIONAL WALK is absolutely terrible.
  10. I guess the universe is now in balance, and the Phillies have been paid back for winning on a bad call in Florida a few weeks ago. But still, for the sake of baseball, it'd be nice if the egos of umpires don't interfere with the outcomes of games anymore.
  11. Lol, the Red Sox claimed Johnny Damon. That would be an interesting reunion. He apparently has the Red Sox on his no-trade list, though.
  12. My favorite part about this game: Throwbacks! http://bears.football-news-update.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/1273368128-21.JPG
  13. What do you mean? Their [expletive]ty bullpen (along with the Dodgers, Cubs, and Astros) is the reason the Braves are still in first place.
  14. Major League Baseball should have forced retirement on him years ago. He is a disgrace to baseball.
  15. Or give him to the Phillies. The Braves turn out good RPs from their system every single year like they are running a factory, while the Phillies basically pick up trash from the scrap heaps.
  16. Also, Cody Ross claimed by (and awarded to) the Giants. Maybe the Giants were trying to block him from somebody (Padres?). Otherwise, I don't really get this, their outfield is very crowded.
  17. Quarterback. "Pitcher" is too vague of a term, since A. the team plays 162 games a season and B. there are 12-13 pitchers on a roster. One bad pitch is not going to ruin a team, and neither is one bad pitcher to be honest. With an NFL quarterback, different story.
  18. The whole team. And that last play that allowed for the 9th run is inexcusable. Shows where their heads are.
  19. The Cubs are disgracefully bad. This is a joke. Just get off the field and forfeit if you're going to do this [expletive].
  20. No reason for him to stick around.
  21. Lou Piniella pushed up his retirement. He is leaving after today's game.
  22. Not a good day for bad-Kendrick to show up. Would have been cool to pick up a game on the Braves and Giants. Good news..Roy O goes tomorrow (and yes, it is AWESOME to be able to say "*insert ace name* goes tomorrow" after every loss).
  23. I hate to say it, but I'd be kind of surprised if he lasts 5 years. I hope I am wrong because he is great for the game (despite the fact that he is in the Phillies division). But many pitching coaches have been critical of his mechanics and the "inverted W". It might be Mark Prior all over again, it's a shame.
