  1. Yeah I know, McCann is terrible. I think the Braves should give him to the Phillies.
  2. Hopefully the Cardinals and Yankees do not get one of Haren/Oswalt, although I am sure at least one of those teams will get one of those guys. Talk about unbeatable rotations...
  3. Only time I will ever say "go Marlins!". Something Fish and I can both be happy about, for now.
  4. That is quite true. Well, the Eagles part anyway. When Jimmy Rollins made that "frontrunners" statement a few years ago, he was 100% right.
  5. A winning streak! Run support for Doc!
  6. I feel like it's been that way for a while, and this summer it just exploded. The NBA has always marketed its star players far more than it markets its teams, so it's no wonder some players have this attitude. I know, this exists in basically every league to some degree, it is just far more prevalent in the NBA.
  7. I think Willie Green, Greg Buckner, Marreese Speights, and Rodney Carney have been summer league "MVPs" before (I may be confusing one or two of these guys with somebody else, but similar caliber players, I don't feel like looking it up right now), and guys like Chauncy Billups have been so bad in summer league that they were told they'd "never make it". I don't know enough about what goes on down there, but just based on that, I struggle to put much stock into it.
  8. I think you got that backwards. But that would be pretty impressive!
  9. I hope so. Don't feel like watching the extended media orgasm that will happen if this drags out. Hope he just gets it over with.
  10. My feelings today are no different than they were at the time we drafted him. Would have been nice to see him play better, but it's just summer league.
  11. No-hitters through 7 innings deserve their own thread now? It is not even a shut out!
  12. Milt Thompson fired as hitting coach. Damn. I guess somebody had to take the hit. Always liked Milt though.
  13. Jamie Moyer's career might be finished. Sad.
  14. I will take it, but this lineup is a mess.
  15. The 2010 Phillies are the perfect example of why W-L for a pitcher is entirely irrelevant on an individual season basis. This team's inability to score for Roy Halladay and Cole Hamels is unbelievable. Hamels pitched the best game of any Phillie this year, with the exception of Doc's perfect game. 8 innings, 1 hit, 1 walk, 97 pitches, in ridiculous heat. And Hamels is now out of the game in the 9th...a 0-0 game.
  16. It was announced today that all minor league players will now be subject to random blood-testing for HGH.
  17. Haha I dunno, I might have to tape a sign to it saying to take it away. I dunno if they will want to touch it though. Covered by maggots. And as somebody who sweats a lot due to bad genes, Sacha, you have no idea what you are talking about and you're coming off as a huge douche.
  18. My maggot-infested trash can (really, no idea how this happened). When I was taking the trash to the curb last night, I almost passed out. Which reminds me, I need to get to Home Depot to pick up a new one at some point....
  19. Well, it would surely give the Cardinals the best rotation in baseball, I do not think there is really any question there. I am not sure about a few of your points, though. First, I don't think there is any way the Cardinals give up that much to get him, especially if Shelby Miller is a part of the deal. Second, I don't really see how this strengthens their chances of keeping Pujols. Apparently, one of the main sticking points of acquiring Oswalt (whereever he may get traded) is that he wants his 2012 option picked up, which would mean he's guaranteed $32 million over the next 2 seasons. (Yes, I know, somebody is saying that he might not demand this if he goes to St. Louis, but I have yet to see a quote directly from him about it). For a middle-market team that is already nearly stretched to their payroll limit such as the St. Louis Cardinals, that is no small chunk of change. I think we all know what kind of deal Pujols is going to want/get. Granted, I see no way Pujols leaves the Cardinals and I think they will make it happen, but adding a huge salary like Oswalt's is certainly not going to improve their chances of keeping Pujols.
  20. I am not taking anything away from the Braves, that was more of an indictment of the Mets and Phillies.
  21. Darroll Powe gets a 1-year deal, $750k. Wonder if there is still room for Turco and Asham.
  22. Could the Braves have gotten any more lucky this year? The division is being handed to them on a silver platter, they barely have to do any work on their own for it.
