After the Phillies game last night, I went to a bar near the stadium. A group of Flyers players was there. Matt Read had a Roy Halladay t-shirt and Phillies hat. Not sure why I think this is so awesome.

The WHIP is nice, everything else is strongly influenced by park factor and team related stuff. He's having a very good year, no doubt, but the record is so misleading. There are a handful of AL pitchers having better years IMO.

July 31st is always fun. Especially so when most of the action involves my team. Also, I feel pretty bad for Giants fans. I think Pence is an awful fit there. He will drive those fans insane, even more than he did here.

Love the Victorino deal. Meh on the Pence deal, but I guess that's market value. Tommy Joseph is a nice get, but I was hoping for a bit more. It's kind of silly to look at this in retrospect, but what a disaster the Pence tenure was. Traded great prospects for one OK year of him, traded him away for much lesser prospects. This one will haunt us for a decade, most likely.

Hey Rube, still not sure about the direction of the team...?

Astros trade Chris Johnson to the D-Backs for Marc Krauss and Bobby Borchering. Decent deal for both teams but I love it for the Astros. Jeff Luhnow has only been around for a year or so, but he is already a top 3 GM in my book. He has loaded up that farm in very little time. And they will most likely have another #1 pick to play with after this season.
